Binder Park Campground allows pets in all 17 full-service sites, featuring electric and water hookups just minutes west of downtown Jefferson City. Pets can accompany campers at this 137-acre lakeside park where each site includes a pavilion-style roof over the picnic tables. The campground provides fishing opportunities from both shore and boat, with bass, crappie, and catfish populations thriving in the lake. Tent and RV campers with dogs will find clean facilities with full plumbing, though sites back up to a fairly busy road. Several fishing docks remain open for public use throughout the park.

Cooper's Landing Campgrounds and Marina welcomes pets along the Missouri River, offering riverfront camping with spectacular sunset views. The Katy Trail runs through the edge of the property, providing immediate access for dog walking and hiking opportunities. This smaller campground features water and electric hookups for both tent and RV camping, though no sewer connections or dump station exist on site. Campers should note that Cooper's hosts live music Thursday through Sunday until 10pm, with the general public frequently visiting the on-site general store, food trucks, and cash bar. Portable toilets serve as the only restroom facilities, with no designated pet waste stations mentioned in visitor accounts.

      Lake Ozarks RV Resort

Clean campground, close to many attractions

This campground is clean, and is close to many attractions near the Lake of the Ozarks.

Wifi is spotty, but my site was at the back of the campground. The campsite also has a new in ground pool and dog park.

Reason I gave this campsite 3 stars is because it is clearly still under construction (6/30/23), which I was not aware of. My guess is this was the first season it was open. Half of the park still had conex boxes and construction equipment around. The dog park had little grass and was very rocky.

The owners were VERY nice and accommodating.

If I were to return next year in 2024 I have no doubt I would have given this campsite 4 or 5 stars

      Linn Creek Koa

      Great for just popping through.

Great place for a place to stay near the lake of the ozarks attractions. Super close to big surf and not a bad drive from all the lake has to offer. But not a favorite for a trip focused more on hanging out at the camp site. Very hilly (though grade on the site wasn’t bad at all), pull through sites make getting in easy with larger rigs but all roads through are gravel and rutted so not the easiest. Sites close together without much in between. Nice large trees would offer some summer shade but still not much separation between sites. Water and electric at site. Small “dog park” (fenced in area) great for smaller dogs to run off leash and pretty large kid okay ground too. Overall we will stay here again but think of it more as bringing our own hotel to the lake rather than coming to enjoy the campground.

      Finger Lakes State Park Campground

      Didn't feel welcome

We are homeless and we got a campsite for two week here and I got a special needs child. And my boy were up at the water and all I did was call then over to me and I get 3 cops at my site. When cross from me the people at that site start there car off and on all night and dog parks from 6 am to 8 am. But I get told if I am loud I get kick out. Thank you for the welcoming feel

      Turkey Creek RV Park

      Nice Campground! Nice and Quiet!

Turkey Creek was a very nice campground for our month long stay.  The park is well maintained and clean.  It is very quiet!  There is a train track nearby, but we only heard it a few times during our stay.

Amenities included full hook up, laundry room, bathrooms, showers and a fenced dog park where you 4 legged friends can enjoy some off-leash time.  We had 4 bars with AT&T and waffled between 1-3 bars with Verizon.

The location is great for visiting local attractions such as Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City and Top of the Rock.

Really appreciate the park manager, she was friendly and brought an overpayment to our attention and quickly issued a refund.

      Great experience overall!

      Dry Fork Recreation Area

      Dry Fork Campground

The Pine Ridge Campground a few miles down the road was full, so we ended up at 1 of the 8 sites here. This is an equestrian campground that allows non-horse campers, but prefers you check Pine Ridge first. We had a fine one-night stay while traveling through, but encountered A LOT of ticks on the overgrown trail. BEWARE of ticks and check yourselves and your pets if staying here. No cell service.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Lake of the Ozarks State Park campground Spring 2022

Lake of the Ozarks State Park campground is located in Kaiser Missouri about 5 miles down highway 134 off of highway 42. This campground is about 1.5 hour from Columbia and Springfield Missouri. It is approximately 3 hours from St.Louis and Kansas City Missouri .

Lake of the Ozarks State Park includes two different areas which are both located on Lake of the Ozarks.

The one reviewed here is located in Kaiser and includes Public Beach #1 , a marina/gas dock , horse stables/trails, hiking trails, beach, fishing dock, shore fishing and campground.

The other is located in Osage Beach about 20 minutes away and includes Public Beach #2, grand glaze marina/gas dock, shore fishing and hiking trails. No camping is available at the Osage Beach location aka PB 2 or grand glaze.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground is a wonderful place to set up camp for the weekend and is one of my all time favorites. The State Park is clean and well maintained with plenty to do for everyone.

The camp sites range from primitive to full hook up 50amp and you will see a range of camping types from tents to class A's . The sites are well spaced out despite how the reservation map appears on the State Park website. I would however suggest staying at the campsites on the outer edges as the interior sites are a bit more cramped.

This area includes bath and shower houses that are of average cleanliness for a State park (typically worn but clean). As well as 3 playgrounds for the kids. Also on site is a Beach so bring a Towel and swimming suit.

A few things to note . If you come in the winter or spring the lake will be low and your lake side campsite will be Lake view instead. You are located about 15 minutes from a grocery store however a camp store is available also bring bug spray.

Your ideal sites are lakeside 160's I stayed at #163 and it was wonderful open with not a lot of tress for the dogs to get tangled in.

This is a true gem at the lake and even though I only live 15 miles away we visit many times throughout the year.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park Campground

Pretty camping area, lake was filthy and smelly

This was a pretty campsite with lots of trees and simple deer trails throughout. Sites are well spread out. The lake itself was filthy and smelly. Lots of trash and rotting fish on the shorelines. The campground website said they had WiFi throughout the campsite, however it was only available at the front office. No cell service. We had planned to stay for a week to school and work remotely, but had to cut our time here short because of no connectivity. If we hadn’t had the need for WiFi, this would have been a fine campground to stay at, as it is centrally located to many sightseeing locations.

Sties were level, kid and pet friendly, quiet campground, 30/50 amp electricity, no water hookups, firewood avail for fire pits, also had nice picnic tables. Inexpensive.

      Roberts Bluff Access

      Great Overnight Spot

Great stop 5 minutes off of I-70! The site has three camp sites available with car pull ins and fire rings. Lots of mosquitoes due to the site being right on the water. Also two cats hang out around the site. No bathroom we could find.

      Finger Lakes State Park Campground

      All sorts of activities

I have two dogs. They are friendly, but get rather rambunctious when they see other dogs. I prefer sites that I can keep them tucked away.

On the electric sites - sites 1-10 are in an area with lots of trees and shade, while sites 11-17 are more open, but still have a few trees for shade.

We stayed in the premium electric spot #15. It felt roomy and was close to the bathrooms. If your like me, and prefer a tucked away spot, go for #17 (no immediate neighbors to your left).

The park itself is delightful. There are hiking, biking and water trails. Hiking trail was really nice with a surprise waterfall! Because the majority of campers were out in their ATV’s, we had the hiking trail all to ourselves. The kayak/canoe loop trail is nifty as there is no need to park a car in another location.

Bathrooms were well kept. Shower house was just ok.

    Guide to California

Camping options near California, Missouri include several locations within a 30-mile radius. The region features rolling hills and oak-hickory forests with elevations ranging from 700 to 950 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures average in the mid-80s with high humidity, while spring and fall offer milder camping conditions with temperatures in the 60-70°F range.

    What to do

Biking on the Katy Trail: Access this historic rail-trail directly from Pine Ridge Recreation Area. "Great hiking trails to meadows and forest. Several sites all first come first serve. No power and vault toilets," according to Josh S.

Fishing opportunities: Cast a line at Finger Lakes State Park where paddlers and anglers can explore multiple small lakes. "There is a dock close to the campground for canoeing and kayaking," notes Cody S., while Ashley F. adds that "paddling through these channels is such a dreamy experience."

Wildlife viewing: Watch for local fauna at several conservation areas. "We saw about 20 deer each day," reports Anthony C. about Lake of the Ozarks State Park. The park's extensive trail system offers chances to spot white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, and numerous bird species.

    What campers like

Riverfront sunsets: Campers praise the evening views along the Missouri River. "Campsites were right on the Missouri River. Had great views and a stunning sunset," writes Rebecca M. Timing your evening around sunset offers photography opportunities with vibrant colors reflecting off the water.

Live entertainment: Local music adds atmosphere at certain dog friendly campgrounds near California. "Coopers Landing hosts live music Thursday through Sunday. They wrap everything up by 10pm and it's very quiet late night," explains Candy H.

Private camping spots: Seek out more secluded options when traveling with pets. Scrivner Road Conservation Area offers "a Swiss Army knife of rugged off the path camping. Rivers, Lakes, Gun range, Horses and hiking can all be enjoyed here," according to Josh S.

    What you should know

Water access challenges: Some locations have limitations regarding water activities. "The river is wide and deep here. Current and undertows make it definitely not suitable for swimming. You can see the water swirling and churning," warns Brenda P.

Seasonal considerations: Plan your visit to Binder Park Campground with weather in mind. "Lake is great for kayaking but can be a bit busy on weekends," notes Cathy S. Spring and fall offer more moderate temperatures and fewer crowds.

Road conditions: Access to some conservation areas requires careful driving. Ruby W. mentions that reaching Three Creeks Conservation Area involves "about 15 minutes of a stunning drive away from the interstate" on rural roads that may be challenging in wet conditions.

    Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Some campgrounds offer dedicated play areas. "Great playground. Several large rigs in our row, we still fit. Decorated wonderfully for Halloween. Kids are happy!" reports Brittany W. about Cottonwoods RV Park.

Swimming options: Check beach conditions before promising kids a swim. "The beach usually is not crowded, which is really nice," says Heather S. about Finger Lakes State Park, though Abbey S. cautions the "lake was unswimable even at the beach access" during certain times.

Educational opportunities: Several local conservation areas offer nature programs. "There are beautiful sights along the way, from wildlife to old, abandoned silos. The trails were marked by distance and difficulty, ranging from easy to challenging," describes Ashley F.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling needs: Be prepared to adjust your rig at some locations. "Site is paved, needed just slight levelling," reports Bob&Susan about Finger Lakes State Park, while another camper notes that "the ground is really uneven" at certain sites.

Hookup variations: Different campgrounds offer varying levels of service. "Spots are tight and the party is next door... We were in a small trailer, fit the spot perfectly, but had to park in the glamping spot due to no other room on our spot," explains Jim K.

Dump station access: Plan your stay length accordingly if full hookups aren't available. "You will have water and electric but no sewer and no dump station on site. Plan your length of stay accordingly," advises Candy H. when discussing pet friendly campgrounds near Missouri.
