    Longshoal is an excellent fishing location. Truman Lake is also a popular destination for tournament fishermen. Longshoal Marina is located within the park, offering convenient boat services for guests. A sandy beach makes the area perfect for families.

    Longshoal campground offers 44 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, 38 sites with 30-amp electric hookups, 12 primitive sites, and 1 resevable day-use group shelter.

    Harry S Truman Reservoir lies among the rolling hills and rocky bluffs of the Ozark Plateau. Mature hardwoods of Oak and Hickory with cedar trees mixed in cover the area.__ Wildlife such as whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, eagles, and many different water birds can be found in and around the park.__ An abundance of fish such as crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish, blue and channel catfish can also be found in Harry S Truman Reservoir. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat.__

    The 950 miles of shoreline around Truman Lake provide plentiful opportunities for fun in the outdoors. Many parks surround the lake, including Harry S. Truman State Park. The Harry S. Truman Visitor Center sits atop Kaysinger Bluff and provides a spectacular view of the dam and reservoir. Exhibits provide information about the rich history of the Osage River Valley from pre-civilization to modern day. Amenities include flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, playground, a dump station and boat ramp.

    Buck Ridge has 61 premium electric sites with pads that run from 50 to 70 feet long. There are six family sites with an extra pad, table, and electric hookup. All of the campsites have a lantern hook, fire pit, and table. The shower house, restrooms, and laundry facilities are at the Bluff Ridge Trail trailhead by the host campsite number 119. Pets are welcome but they have to be on a leash or restrained at all times. The water, showers, and RV dump station are turned off during the off-season so bring your own water during that time.

    This park offers family and group campsites with and without electric hookups. Two day-use group picnic shelters with lights and electric outlets are also available, making the area perfect for large parties or family functions. This campground offers 44 sites total. 39 of the sites have 50-amp electric hookups and water hookups; along with 5 primitive sites.__ Group camp A offers 19, 30-amp electric hookup sites along with a centrally located pavilion for gathering. Group camp C is all primitive with plenty of flat areas for tents. It also has a pavilion for gathering and a large fire pit.Amenities include flush and pit toilets, showers, drinking water, laundry facilities, a dump station, and a boat ramp. A nice, sandy beach offers additional recreation opportunity.

    There are 42 basic campsites in Thorny Ridge. The pads are between 47 and 60 feet in length and the four family sites have an extra pad between 52 and 55 feet long and an additional electric hookup. You will be close to the lake no matter which site you choose at Thorny Ridge because this campground is on a peninsula that juts right out onto the water. In fact, the boat ramp is at the end of the road by campsite 157. There is a parking lot at the boat ramp large enough to accommodate a trailer as well as an RV for the day while you take your boat out for the day. You will find the shower house, restrooms, and laundry facilities right in the middle of the campsite by the camp host site 166. The water, showers, and RV dump station are turned off during the off-season so bring your own water during that time. Pets are welcome but they have to be on a leash or restrained at all times.
