Minneapolis Southwest KOA accommodates pets across its tent, RV, cabin, and yurt sites with spacious areas for dogs to enjoy. Full hookups are available along with amenities like drinking water, electric service, showers, toilets, and fire rings. While the campground is primarily designed for families with children, offering a heated indoor pool and playgrounds, it provides adequate space for pets to exercise. Pets must remain leashed throughout the property, though the open layout means limited privacy between sites. The KOA is open seasonally from April 25 to October 11 and offers reservable sites with picnic tables and fire rings for evening relaxation with your pet. Sites back up to wooded areas but camping setup must remain in designated spaces, keeping pets from entering the protected forest zones.

Dakotah Meadows RV Park near Mystic Lake Casino provides pet-friendly sites with concrete pads and full hookups. Each site includes its own trash receptacle and fire pit, making cleanup convenient when camping with dogs. The campground features secure showers and bathhouses requiring key card access, along with a dedicated dog park for off-leash exercise, though some fence areas have gaps that smaller dogs could potentially slip through. Regular security patrols make this a safe option for pet owners, and the well-maintained grassy areas between sites offer comfortable spaces for leashed pets. The campground location provides easy access to Minneapolis attractions, approximately 25-30 minutes from the airport and Mall of America, making it convenient for travelers with pets seeking both outdoor and urban experiences.

      Dakotah Meadows RV Park

      Quiet and safe

Small little campground next to large casino. We lucked out and were able to stay 2 nights without reservations….only had to move because they were fully booked for the 4th…large concert event happening across the street. You will need to call early in the day to talk to office staff…who are very friendly. If after hours and there are no spots, you can dry dock in large lot in front of office. There is fuel on site as well as RV wash station. Bath house and laundry and card controlled ($5 card deposit on check in)…well maintained facilities. Dog park available, watch a few spots in fence near bottom where fencing has risen up…little dogs could easily climb under. Very convenient for visiting Minneapolis…25/30 minutes from airport/Mall of America (Aquarium) and Security patrols regularly and there is shuttle if you want to visit casino. Pool at hotel is not included. Golf attraction is being completed next door so there was some construction traffic during day as expected.

      Tresure Island RV Park

      Crowded park, nice people

We were here for a night to see a concert at the amphitheater and everyone was super friendly. It was easy to check in, and we were able to do laundry and shower which was great. It’s mostly gravel but they have some tent sites on the grass. They are dog friendly and have some grassy areas to walk your pets which was great.

      Good Campground but Close Sites

Sites are close to each other, but easy access, clean grounds and facilities, friendly staff, and a K9 fenced area for a pet friendly campground.

      Lebanon Hills Regional Park

      Great Campground

We just found this campground in September and this year we've been there 3 times and we live in Montana, there's no place I'd rather stay. It has nice clean bathrooms and it's a great place to walk your pets, they do have 3 different areas to camp but we always use the full hook-ups

The people at check-in are always so friendly, and very helpful.

lots of things in the area to do, and the "city" isn't that far to drive to.

      St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park

      Top Shelf

Beautiful, spacious, trees but open. Nice trails, clean restrooms, level sites. No alcohol allowed and no pets! Fire rings, sturdy picnic table. Electric and water.

I made reservations online and when we arrived they said I had reserved a place at Elmo Lake which was 20 miles away. Same 2 county facilities but different campgrounds. Oops my bad. Different addresses!

      Tresure Island RV Park

      It’s a parking lot…

We are here for a show at the casino and thought it would be fun to bring the camper down and glamp for the weekend. It is just a parking lot but the sites are all pull through and there is plenty of room between sites and ours was perfectly level.

We have dogs so the fact that it’s all asphalt and rock is a bit of a bummer but we are close to the exercise area and they do love little walks. It also seems to be controlling some of the normal bad pet parent behavior we see at even parks. Like letting the dogs run with out leashes or tethering them all day to bark at everything.

The sites do not have fire rings but there are some community ones and it appears the other campers brought their own smokeless fire pits to use.

There is a shuttle to the casino and at 7pm folks seemed to clear out to head over. It was honestly one of the quietest campgrounds we’ve been to on a Friday night.

The bath house is newer and super clean- not a single creepy spider web in any corners.

On Verizon I have full bars so we haven’t tried the park WiFi but we’ve been able to use our chrome cast and two iPads off my cell phone with zero issues. Because it’s in a river valley the air tv single is terrible so we are glad to have the chrome cast with us- since the forecast called for a raining day.

    Guide to Jordan

Camping sites near Jordan, Minnesota cluster along lakes and waterways offering diverse terrain from wooded parkland to prairie landscapes. The region maintains moderate summer temperatures averaging 70-85°F from June through August, with sites typically open from April through mid-October. Most campgrounds in this area lie within a 20-mile radius of Jordan, situated in the Minnesota River Valley.

    What to do

Hiking and exploration trails: At High Island Creek Park, discover extensive ravine trails leading to flowing creeks. "Beautiful trails leading you down the revenue to a gentle flowing creek. One of me and my hubbies favorite drop in campsites!!" notes reviewer Alison O. about High Island Creek Park.

Fishing opportunities: Fish Lake Acres Campground provides lakeside access for anglers. "The lake is literally out your door and they do have a small swimming beach and boat launch," explains a camper at Fish Lake Acres Campground. Nearby Minnesota Horse and Hunt club is accessible via trail.

Water recreation: Lebanon Hills Regional Park offers paddling options on its small lake. "Nice little lake to kayak on," mentions Chris S. The park combines natural water features with maintained trails, making it versatile for different outdoor activities.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Lebanon Hills maintains well-kept grounds and amenities. "The office was open till 9pm very friendly. A little pricey for tent camping. The sites are private. Great biking and hiking trails. Great amenities," reports Rico R. about Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

Privacy between sites: Lake Auburn Campground provides good separation between camping areas. "Lots of space between campsites. They aren't very private though. Great playground and green space for the kids, beach is very nice. Bathrooms are clean," notes Amy K. about Lake Auburn Campground.

    What you should know

Seasonal availability: Baker Park Reserve operates from April 30 to October 20, typical for the region. "Great for the active family, not those wanting privacy. Site proximity concerns: Town & Country Campground offers convenience but with limited privacy. "It's a nice park but very close compact. Everyone is squeezed in like sardines. Very tight quarters on roads and sites," warns Claire M. Some sites place campers within view of residential areas.
