Trying out new trailer

The site was just fine for what we wanted to do and that was trying out our new trailer. Not much in the way of hiking, but the lake access looked nice.

Lots of traffic

Constant traffic that kicked up dust around the one way loop. But the beach was lovely. And facilities were nice too. Loved catching bugs!

Nice park, not worth an overnight stay

This park isn't too far away from my stable and I frequent it every once in a while with my horse. I'm not sure why I decided to camp here for one night, but I did, and I'll probably never do it again. I've come to realize that county park campers and state park campers are entirely different creatures when it comes to self-awareness and goals of camping. This is obviously a complete generalization, but the former doesn't seem to be a serious camper and is looking to experience low-commitment camping as an alternative to partying in their garage and the latter is someone like me who finds camping to be restorative experience.

The majority of the campsites here offer little to no privacy, which is fine if you are into either socializing with strangers nearby or at the least hearing all of their interactions. I have never quit a campground before, but we ended up leaving at 10 pm once it was clear that this was going to remain a loud campground.

The park itself isn't one that I would go more than an hour out of my way to visit, but I do enjoy it when I am there.

The Carver County Reserve is a wonderful park to spend the day at or even overnight because it offers a really nice campground, which is also accompanied with a cute little beach on it as well. The beach is actually on Lake Auburn but is all a part of the Carver County Reserve. The Carveralso features lots of biking amd hiking trails, which can also be accessed from the campground. I stay the campground least once every year because i like it so much. Beautiful place to be in summer and fall. :)) Nice and quiet too and not very often is it crowded, which is a bonus, i think! ;)

Every time I've been here, it's been an exciting and/relaxing experience. I come back here every year and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun yet secluded adventure. :)

SiteMultiple camp sites multiple times between June through October. They even have 2 campsites that are hike in sites for a more secluded true camping experience. Although i haven't tried those yet but I'm looking forward to it sometime

Lake auburn camping

We had site 57, which is more expensive but is also very large, surrounded by trees and has a patio, the other campsite sizes vary greatly with some being very small, it's very easy for groups to camp here, especially in the sites by the playground. The lake is nice, smaller with not many motor boats so good for kayaking or canoeing, the beach is pretty clean, some weeds floating in the water and very shallow for kids. The playground is good for kids and they have programs every Saturday night, some of the ones we've been to were about bugs, raptors, bees, and snakes, there are usually programs during the day at the nature center as well. All in all a great place to camp only downside for me is the vault toilets, being able to shower would be nice but not a deal breaker, also the use of generators for me is super annoying but contained to one section of the campground.
