    Land of Memories Campground

Large park and campground with much to do!

The park here has a Frisbee golf course as well as soccer fields and a trail system that wraps the campground and park. In the campground, the spots are plentiful, especially if you winter camp like I do. There are accommodations for any size camper, including pull through locations for big rigs. This campground offers electric and non electric sites. The spots with the most privacy are here by the river. Other spots inside the park are more exposed. If you kayak, there's also a boat ramp! I'd recommend that anyone looking to visit minneopa come here if you have a large rig. The logistics are far easier here, and you're still close to the bison.

    Fish Lake Acres Campground

    Quiet, Lake Views

This campground is great especially when compared with state park camping. Full hookups available, quite a few pull through lots and close to the twin cities! No wifi, so make sure you've got decent cell service and hotspot if you need internet/wifi. Verizon gets ok coverage here, T-Mobile does too. Showers/bathhouses are clean and the hot water runs forever and not coin operated or push button like some others I've been to! Bonus! Good toilet paper in the bathrooms not the cheap stuff. The lake is literally out your door and they do have a small swimming beach and boat launch. MN Horse and Hunt club is about a mile or so up a trail access that is Almosy directly across from the camp entrance. There is an ATM there along with a bar and restaurant. Be prepared to hear gunshots regularly but it's not really bothersome unless you aren't prepared for it. The trail to the club is safe to walk though. The campground ONLY accepts cash so be sure to hit the ATM before you get here. They also charge $2 extra per dog if you have them. Nightly rate for the full hookup site I had was $32 with the dog. They charge .50 c per log for firewood. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The staff are really nice and laid back. It's a really nice little campground!

    Ham Lake Resort

Well Rounded RV Park and Campground

My partner and I scheduled a 3 day / 2 night stay in a new Vintage Cruiser RV for $39.99, in exchange for attending a presentation on private membership.

We checked in Wednesday evening, and the nicest staff I've ever met helped us acclimate to RV living. We are new to this game. They patiently described how to utilize the grey and black water tanks, as well as encouraged us to check-out the canoes, row boats, bikes, horseshoes, ladder golf and many other entertainment items - for FREE!

The map provided was accurate which made locating the cruiser a breeze. There were further instructions inside as well. The RV was immaculate. Provided for our use were all linens (a public very clean bath and shower was just across the road), dish soap, dish towels, paper towels, flat wear, plates, bowls, mugs and pans.

The campground has a couple of ponds, as well as access to Ham Lake where the watercraft is launched. There is a petting arena with goats, ponies, and a llama who gave my partner the stink eye, but fell in love with me rubbing the fence and giving me all googly eyes!

The clubhouse sells bundled wood, ice, snacks, cold drinks, ice cream and provides 24-hour fresh coffee. There is also a small resupply area, and gift shop.

There are pull-through sites, back ups, 50 and 30 amp hook ups, and tent sites, covered pavilions, picnic tables and fire pits.

The campground itself seems remote, secluded and peaceful, however, you are conveniently located to two well-stocked convenience stores, as well as Wal-Mart about 15 minutes away. It's also only about 45 minutes from the Minnesota Twin Cities.

One note: We visited in August and needed gallons of bug spray.

We very much enjoyed our get away!

    Lebanon Hills Regional Park

    Friendly staff & quiet

Great location for easy access to mountain bike trails. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Nice trail within the campground. Some sites are more shaded than others in the east loop so look at photos if you want shade. Sites that back up to the green space are very sunny. 87 is a great site! Plenty of space for a trailer or tent with a private “nook” for the fire pit.

    Lake Elmo County Park Reserve

    Great for the kiddos

For a County Park, Lake Elmo has an impressive list of amenities. Before we even get to the campsite let's mention the filtered swimming pond. This man made pond is a sandy bottom and surrounded by a nice sand beach. Large built in umbrellas are available for sun coverage and there is a concession stand and bathrooms with showers. And yes, as I mentioned the water is filtered! No gross goose poop or green algae to deal with! Next to the swim pond is a giant playground with fun for the big and little kids. Other amenities include archery, horse trails, paved and grass trails, camper spots, rustic spots and hike in camping spots. In winter the xc ski trails are lit for evening skiing. Or let's be honest early afternoon. It is Minnesota and the suns down by 4 In the Winter! They also have a newer Nordic center that's open all year round and includes a locker room with showers. The hike in camp spot we chose was on a small lake so it had a nice breeze and made it easy to bring a kayak or paddleboard and hop right in. There is also a boat launch for your larger toys! The trails in the park are quite impressive for its size. We enjoyed a 5 mile loop off the Nordic center and right past the camp spot. A picnic table and fire pit as well as nice flat tent pad were provided. If you're coming in from out of town then you're just a 5 minute drive from Woodbury and all the amenities you'd ever need but the park feels miles away from it all.

    Tresure Island RV Park

    It’s a parking lot…

We are here for a show at the casino and thought it would be fun to bring the camper down and glamp for the weekend. It is just a parking lot but the sites are all pull through and there is plenty of room between sites and ours was perfectly level.

We have dogs so the fact that it’s all asphalt and rock is a bit of a bummer but we are close to the exercise area and they do love little walks. It also seems to be controlling some of the normal bad pet parent behavior we see at even parks. Like letting the dogs run with out leashes or tethering them all day to bark at everything.

The sites do not have fire rings but there are some community ones and it appears the other campers brought their own smokeless fire pits to use.

There is a shuttle to the casino and at 7pm folks seemed to clear out to head over. It was honestly one of the quietest campgrounds we’ve been to on a Friday night.

The bath house is newer and super clean- not a single creepy spider web in any corners.

On Verizon I have full bars so we haven’t tried the park WiFi but we’ve been able to use our chrome cast and two iPads off my cell phone with zero issues. Because it’s in a river valley the air tv single is terrible so we are glad to have the chrome cast with us- since the forecast called for a raining day.

    Minneapolis Northwest KOA

    Good Campground but Close Sites

Sites are close to each other, but easy access, clean grounds and facilities, friendly staff, and a K9 fenced area for a pet friendly campground.

    Masonic West River Park

    Riverfront!!

Amazing campsite! Sites are large and grassy! We had a lakeview site right off the paved walking/biking trail with room for a large tent and the pop-up camper. Fire ring and picnic table provided. A man drives through the campsite close to dusk to sell firewood as there is no traditional office. Bathrooms and showers are located near the dump station and dumpster. Be on the lookout for the code for the doors during your reservation process. We had missed it and had to ask a neighbor if they knew the codes so we could shower.

Guide to Jordan

Campgrounds near Jordan, Minnesota offer a mix of amenities in the region's humid continental climate zone. Summer temperatures typically range between 70-85°F with moderate rainfall, while winters see temperatures dropping below freezing with significant snowfall. Many facilities operate seasonally from April through October, though several remain open year-round with varying levels of services.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Codgers Cove RV Resort sits on Howard Lake with direct water access. "Great lake location but $80 was kind of high," notes a traveler passing through the area.

Biking excursions: Lake Auburn Campground connects to miles of trails suitable for cycling. "Lots of miles connected trails that lead through prairie lands and to a nature center where you and your kids can learn about the natural surrounding habitats," reports one visitor who particularly enjoyed the extensive trail system.

Playground facilities: Multiple family-friendly areas cater to children of different ages. "The playground is awesome for all ages as it accommodates something for all age and size groups from a traditional playground set for the younger ones, volleyball net and concrete bag toss boards," mentions a Lake Auburn Campground reviewer.

Golfing options: Dakotah Meadows RV Park features nearby golf facilities. "Golf attraction is being completed next door so there was some construction traffic during day as expected," notes one camper who stayed at the facility while work was underway.

What campers like

Security measures: Some campgrounds provide additional safety measures for travelers. "Security patrols regularly and there is shuttle if you want to visit casino," reports a visitor to Dakotah Meadows RV Park, highlighting the regular security presence that contributed to their peace of mind.

Clean bathroom facilities: Cleary Lake Regional Park receives praise for its restroom maintenance. "Amazing bathroom/Showers. Quiet, lots of flies, good spot overall," shares a summer visitor who appreciated the facility quality despite some seasonal insects.

Convenient washing facilities: Specialty services for RVs are available at certain locations. "There is fuel on site as well as RV wash station. Bath house and laundry and card controlled ($5 card deposit on check in)…well maintained facilities," notes a Dakotah Meadows visitor who appreciated these practical amenities.

Individual waste receptacles: Uncommon trash disposal setups exist at select campgrounds. "Each campsite has their own trash receptacle, which was great," mentions one camper who found this feature particularly convenient during their stay.

What you should know

Site privacy varies significantly: Many campgrounds feature open layouts with limited separation. "While the park is nice and has mature trees, the sites are very open and offer little privacy between sites. The only separation is the driveway where you park your car," reports a camper at Lake Auburn Campground.

City park camping options: Some facilities are integrated within municipal recreation areas. "The campground is in a city park. When I got there (8pm), there was a group having a cookout in the park and playing very loud music. They were gone by 10 though," explains a visitor to Oak Leaf Park describing the public park environment.

Noise considerations: Location-specific sounds affect different campgrounds. "We would probably chose a site further from one of the main roads into Mystic Lake Casino. We heard a lot of traffic coming and going well into the wee hours of the night," shares one camper about their experience at Dakotah Meadows.

WiFi limitations: Internet connectivity varies considerably between locations. "Wifi is not great, less than 1MB download speeds from our site, and our Verizon service was pretty poor in our spot, max 2 bars," explains a camper who found connectivity challenges during their stay.

Tips for camping with families

Playground proximity matters: Sites near play structures reduce walking distance for children. "Great playground and green space for the kids, beach is very nice. Bathrooms are clean," shares a visitor to Lake Auburn Campground who appreciated the family-friendly amenities.

Consider education options: Nature learning facilities provide additional activities. "Miles connected trails that lead through prairie lands and to a nature center where you and your kids can learn about the natural surrounding habitats," notes an enthusiastic Lake Auburn camper.

Special facilities for children: Baker Park Reserve offers dedicated amenities for young visitors. "With great fishing, playground, swimming, and biking trails very nearby, the kids were kept as busy as they wanted to be," explains a visitor who found the recreational options ideal for active families.

Multi-sport options: Versatile recreation facilities support different interests. "The campground and one for all of the day visitors. You can rent canoes, paddle boats and SUP boards, and many people bring their own boats," shares a Baker Park Reserve visitor describing the range of water activities available.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling considerations: RV sites at Town & Country Campground vary in elevation. "Very tight quarters on roads and sites. There is a game room and a small pool. Only a little space for one vehicle but overflow parking isn't terrible if you're close to office," explains one visitor who found maneuvering somewhat challenging.

Reservation timing: Popular RV sites near Jordan, Minnesota fill quickly during peak season. "If you're looking for an RV Park in the Shakopee/Savage area this place is nice. Game room small pool unfortunately all closed due to COVID but super cute little park," advises a Town & Country visitor.

Seasonal pricing variations: Costs fluctuate significantly based on time of year and duration. "Pack'em in," notes a visitor to Codgers Cove RV Resort, referring to the density of sites, while another adds that their daily rate was "$80 daily for non-seasonal" visitors.

Site spacing awareness: Prepare for closely positioned RV sites at some parks. "It's a nice park but very close compact. Everyone is squeezed in like sardines. Very tight quarters on roads and sites," explains a Town & Country Campground visitor who found the proximity to neighbors noteworthy.
