Best RV Parks & Resorts near Edina, MN

Lebanon Hills Regional Park provides full hookups on asphalt sites with water, electric, and sewer connections. Located in Eagan, the park operates from April to October with approximately 20 RV sites. Dakotah Meadows RV Park near Prior Lake features concrete pads with 50-amp electrical service, water hookups, and a sanitary dump station. Town & Country Campground in Savage stays open year-round with big-rig friendly spaces, though sites are positioned close together with limited privacy. Baker Park Reserve in Medina accommodates large RVs on gravel pads from late April through mid-October. "Sites are concrete and level. We did not unhook since leaving the next day. Nice place to stay to unhook if you want to explore Minneapolis."

Reservations are essential during summer months, particularly for weekends when most RV parks fill quickly. At Dakotah Meadows, shuttles transport campers to the adjacent casino, with dedicated pull-through sites arranged in pairs facing opposite directions. Several parks provide access to regional trail systems despite their proximity to urban areas. Cell service varies by location, with Lebanon Hills offering free WiFi that delivers modest speeds (1.5 Mbps down, 3.6 Mbps up according to one review). Most RV parks in the area allow pets, though specific restrictions may apply. The Twin Cities location means traffic noise affects certain parks, especially those near major highways or casino access roads. A camper at Town & Country noted it's "clean, friendly, and convenient to the cities. Some road noise, but you are in the city so expected."

    Fish Lake Acres Campground

    Quiet, Lake Views

This campground is great especially when compared with state park camping. Full hookups available, quite a few pull through lots and close to the twin cities! No wifi, so make sure you've got decent cell service and hotspot if you need internet/wifi. Verizon gets ok coverage here, T-Mobile does too. Showers/bathhouses are clean and the hot water runs forever and not coin operated or push button like some others I've been to! Bonus! Good toilet paper in the bathrooms not the cheap stuff. The lake is literally out your door and they do have a small swimming beach and boat launch. MN Horse and Hunt club is about a mile or so up a trail access that is Almosy directly across from the camp entrance. There is an ATM there along with a bar and restaurant. Be prepared to hear gunshots regularly but it's not really bothersome unless you aren't prepared for it. The trail to the club is safe to walk though. The campground ONLY accepts cash so be sure to hit the ATM before you get here. They also charge $2 extra per dog if you have them. Nightly rate for the full hookup site I had was $32 with the dog. They charge .50 c per log for firewood. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The staff are really nice and laid back. It's a really nice little campground!

    Ham Lake Resort

Well Rounded RV Park and Campground

My partner and I scheduled a 3 day / 2 night stay in a new Vintage Cruiser RV for $39.99, in exchange for attending a presentation on private membership.

We checked in Wednesday evening, and the nicest staff I've ever met helped us acclimate to RV living. We are new to this game. They patiently described how to utilize the grey and black water tanks, as well as encouraged us to check-out the canoes, row boats, bikes, horseshoes, ladder golf and many other entertainment items - for FREE!

The map provided was accurate which made locating the cruiser a breeze. There were further instructions inside as well. The RV was immaculate. Provided for our use were all linens (a public very clean bath and shower was just across the road), dish soap, dish towels, paper towels, flat wear, plates, bowls, mugs and pans.

The campground has a couple of ponds, as well as access to Ham Lake where the watercraft is launched. There is a petting arena with goats, ponies, and a llama who gave my partner the stink eye, but fell in love with me rubbing the fence and giving me all googly eyes!

The clubhouse sells bundled wood, ice, snacks, cold drinks, ice cream and provides 24-hour fresh coffee. There is also a small resupply area, and gift shop.

There are pull-through sites, back ups, 50 and 30 amp hook ups, and tent sites, covered pavilions, picnic tables and fire pits.

The campground itself seems remote, secluded and peaceful, however, you are conveniently located to two well-stocked convenience stores, as well as Wal-Mart about 15 minutes away. It's also only about 45 minutes from the Minnesota Twin Cities.

One note: We visited in August and needed gallons of bug spray.

We very much enjoyed our get away!

    Ann Lake

    Rustic & Family Friendly

This is a great little rustic campground within an hour's drive of the Twin Cities! It has several potable water sources throughout the campground, but no running water for toilets or showers. There are several vault toilets. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. You can buy firewood & ice at the Sand Dunes Stop gas station, just a 10 minutes drive away.

This is a first-come, first-served campground, so no reservations required. This does mean that there is a chance you won't be able to get a site, but I've only had that happen one time when I got there at 6pm on a Saturday. There are usually sites available.

I love going to this campground - it's family friendly, and there is a swimming beach a quick 3 minute drive away! The hiking trails aren't half bad, either! I love coming here to relax for a weekend, spend some time at the beach, and just enjoy nature. If you go in the early to mid summer, you'll also hear local whip-poor-wills serenade you to sleep.

Overall, 4 stars. The only downsides are no running water and no ice & firewood at the campground itself.

    Lake Elmo County Park Reserve

    Great for the kiddos

For a County Park, Lake Elmo has an impressive list of amenities. Before we even get to the campsite let's mention the filtered swimming pond. This man made pond is a sandy bottom and surrounded by a nice sand beach. Large built in umbrellas are available for sun coverage and there is a concession stand and bathrooms with showers. And yes, as I mentioned the water is filtered! No gross goose poop or green algae to deal with! Next to the swim pond is a giant playground with fun for the big and little kids. Other amenities include archery, horse trails, paved and grass trails, camper spots, rustic spots and hike in camping spots. In winter the xc ski trails are lit for evening skiing. Or let's be honest early afternoon. It is Minnesota and the suns down by 4 In the Winter! They also have a newer Nordic center that's open all year round and includes a locker room with showers. The hike in camp spot we chose was on a small lake so it had a nice breeze and made it easy to bring a kayak or paddleboard and hop right in. There is also a boat launch for your larger toys! The trails in the park are quite impressive for its size. We enjoyed a 5 mile loop off the Nordic center and right past the camp spot. A picnic table and fire pit as well as nice flat tent pad were provided. If you're coming in from out of town then you're just a 5 minute drive from Woodbury and all the amenities you'd ever need but the park feels miles away from it all.

    Lebanon Hills Regional Park

    Friendly staff & quiet

Great location for easy access to mountain bike trails. Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Nice trail within the campground. Some sites are more shaded than others in the east loop so look at photos if you want shade. Sites that back up to the green space are very sunny. 87 is a great site! Plenty of space for a trailer or tent with a private “nook” for the fire pit.

    Tresure Island RV Park

    It’s a parking lot…

We are here for a show at the casino and thought it would be fun to bring the camper down and glamp for the weekend. It is just a parking lot but the sites are all pull through and there is plenty of room between sites and ours was perfectly level.

We have dogs so the fact that it’s all asphalt and rock is a bit of a bummer but we are close to the exercise area and they do love little walks. It also seems to be controlling some of the normal bad pet parent behavior we see at even parks. Like letting the dogs run with out leashes or tethering them all day to bark at everything.

The sites do not have fire rings but there are some community ones and it appears the other campers brought their own smokeless fire pits to use.

There is a shuttle to the casino and at 7pm folks seemed to clear out to head over. It was honestly one of the quietest campgrounds we’ve been to on a Friday night.

The bath house is newer and super clean- not a single creepy spider web in any corners.

On Verizon I have full bars so we haven’t tried the park WiFi but we’ve been able to use our chrome cast and two iPads off my cell phone with zero issues. Because it’s in a river valley the air tv single is terrible so we are glad to have the chrome cast with us- since the forecast called for a raining day.

    Minneapolis Northwest KOA

    Good Campground but Close Sites

Sites are close to each other, but easy access, clean grounds and facilities, friendly staff, and a K9 fenced area for a pet friendly campground.

    Lebanon Hills Regional Park

    Spacious!!

My family and I took our second trip with our travel trailer to Lebanon Hills Campground locates here in the Apple Valley. It is located on the fringe of a nature reserve with miles of hiking and biking trails. We stayed in the west loop and all the sites are full hook up back in spots. Each site has well groomed grass and plenty of space between campers. Site also came with a XL picnic table and fire ring w/grill grate. The East Loop provides campers with more rustic accommodations. Also in the East Loop is a nice play ground and trails. In between the different loops is a nice pond with groomed trails that go all the way around. About a half mile from the campground is Skills Park which contains over 10 miles of mountain bike trails! One down side is that if you want to swim you have to travel about 4 miles to Lebanon Hills Visitor Center where there is a beach. They do rent paddles boards and kayaks there. All in all, beautiful place and a great trip!!

Guide to Edina

Campgrounds near Edina, Minnesota vary from basic tent sites to premium RV facilities, with options typically available from April through October. Located in Hennepin County at 885 feet above sea level, Edina's proximity to lakes and regional parks offers campers diverse terrain within a 30-minute drive. Summer temperatures average 70-85°F with occasional humidity spikes, making early reservations essential.

What to do

Water recreation at Cleary Lake: At Cleary Lake Regional Park campers can kayak, canoe, and fish in a peaceful setting. "Cleary Lake is a good size and a kayakers delight! The park also has a golf course and is very well kept!" notes reviewer Lili R.

Tubing on the Rum River: Floating down the river is popular with campers at Country Camping. "Great tubing and canoeing," explains Rory T. "They have a bus that takes you into town float back to the campground, love it," adds another visitor.

Hiking and biking trails: Baker Park Reserve offers extensive paved trails. "There is a nice 6+ mile biking trail that connects to others, so bring the bikes," recommends Jennifer H. The park's trails connect to a network that lets campers explore the surrounding natural areas.

What campers like

Secluded tent sites: Lebanon Hills Regional Park offers rare privacy. "Tent camp sites are far enough from each other that neighbors can't be seen, and we didn't hear them either," notes Blair. The sites blend into woodland settings despite being in suburban Eagan.

Level concrete pads: Dakotah Meadows RV Park features well-maintained sites. "The sites are paved and have well-maintained grass. We were located near the casino road, which has an occasional loud car, even at night," explains Chris F., highlighting both benefits and potential drawbacks.

Heated amenities: Country Camping Tent & RV Park offers summer comfort with "a heated pool, splash pad area, BIG playground area, indoor game room, HUGE sites," according to Spencer C. These amenities prove especially valuable during cooler Minnesota evenings.

What you should know

Reservation timing: Most campgrounds in the area require advance booking, particularly for summer weekends. "Reserve early online, most weekends were already reserved by mid May," advises a Lebanon Hills camper.

Traffic noise considerations: Due to proximity to the Twin Cities, road noise affects certain locations. "The only criticisms we have are that you can hear road noise — and depending on your site you'll hear the alarm of one of the access gates for the Minnesota Zoo," notes a visitor to Lebanon Hills.

WiFi limitations: Internet connectivity varies widely at RV campgrounds near Edina. At Dakotah Meadows RV Park, "wifi is not great, less than 1MB download speeds from our site, and our Verizon service was pretty poor in our spot, max 2 bars," reports Chris F.

Tips for camping with families

Playgrounds and pools: Baker Park Reserve offers family-friendly amenities. "With great fishing, playground, swimming, and biking trails very nearby, the kids were kept as busy as they wanted to be," shares Bryan S. The park provides structured recreation options.

Group camping options: For family reunions or large gatherings, consider specialized sites. "We always stay at the Cleary point group camp and we love it... The camp is great though, 4 or 5 hookups and a private dock and the whole site is private and on a little point so the lake is surrounding you," explains Teresa O.

Pet considerations: Many campgrounds accommodate dogs but have specific areas. At Dakotah Meadows, "Dog park available, watch a few spots in fence near bottom where fencing has risen up... little dogs could easily climb under," advises Beth B., highlighting the need to monitor pets in designated areas.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: At Town & Country Campground, space limitations require planning. "It's a nice park but very close compact. Everyone is squeezed in like sardines. Very tight quarters on roads and sites," reports Claire M. Request sites away from main roads when possible.

Setup considerations: RV campgrounds near Edina often have varying hookup positions. At Dakotah Meadows, "Sites are two pull-thru's to each site. Your door is opposite of your site mate and you each have your own power pedestal w/water. Sites are 60+ feet, concrete and level," explains James and Susan K.

Maintenance facilities: Some parks offer RV-specific services beyond basic hookups. "There is fuel on site as well as RV wash station. Bath house and laundry and card controlled ($5 card deposit on check in)... well maintained facilities," notes a reviewer about the practical amenities available at Dakotah Meadows.
