Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Belleville, MI

Very private sites. I was surprised at how well each site was hidden from the others. Restrooms can be a bit far from some sites. Nice little dog park by the beach too.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Delivered our firewood right to our site. Lots of shade trees, beautiful well groomed trails for walking. Even a dog park, which our Golden Retriever really enjoyed.

Playgrounds everywhere for the kids. Giant dog park and ponds. Pool was closed. Just needs more grass. Our spot was really patchy and resulted in a lot of mud. Bathrooms were dated and we arrived Monday after Labor Day so I can't judge them. They had a FULL HOUSE on Labor Day per the front gate. I was very impressed there was no garbage at campsites and picked up very well.

GREAT biking trails you can catch on premise and bike over to Kensington and to the charming town of Milford

Nice lakes for swimming and can take your pet as well!  Big playground and nice bathrooms

Sites and restrooms were alright, think it is ridiculous to pay extra each night for each pet and children, too many other campgrounds in our area that are more updated and reasonably priced.

We go here every year with friends and the staff is so nice. The spots are big and well maintained. The biggest drawback is the enormous amounts of mosquitos and ticks in the sites. Every night we had to triple check each other and our pets for ticks. We found at least 1a night on us. Last trip I came home with over 30 mosquito bites.

A fun little campground with a nice bunch of petting zoo type animals! The beach is clean and the lake is warm! Very nice layout with walking trail around the lake. The only complaint was not nearly enough trash cans around (like, none easy to find) and the bathrooms were nasty for our 2 day visit. Price per night for full hook up was $40 :-)

They recently drained their swimming pond so there is now no swimming. The nightly price is steep considering you have to pay extra per kid and pet plus if you want to pick your site it's an extra $10. Some sites are small so if you want room you need to pick your site.

The activities for kids are great but not all are free. The price isn't worth it to us.

I come down to Detroit from Windsor every year to camp in Michigan with friends and this year we went to this very nice campsite in Orion Twp and I loved it. This was the first year we started our trip in Toronto, thanks to a solar company at https://www.solarpowertoronto.com/ who installed solar panels on our RV. We were able to camp from Toronto to Orion Twp and had a great time. Will be doing the same next year.

First time out with the camper and we wanted to stay close to home so we found a campground right outside the city. You couldn't tell how close we were because there were so many trees in the area. Looked like up north

While there are plenty of trees around the grounds and lake there are not too many trees between the camp sites so you do totally see your neighbor. Bathrooms were clean at all times. Showers available. I saw basketball and ladder ball. There is a big lake with a boat launch and swimming area. Pets are allowed (leashed) Fire pit and picnic table at camp site. It was a grass site and not paved, some definitely looked more even than others. I did see more activities but we did not check them out. We also didn't go hiking due to the air quality/Canadian fires. 

We would go again for a quick get away!

We stayed in one of the group sites and it was beautiful. Less tree cover than we would have liked, you're basically in a giant grassy field, but it was perfect for a large group. we did have to share a pavilion with a group of older campers (celebrating a 90th birthday. Our group was there to celebrate my 30th) but it turned out perfectly as they did early dinners and went to bed in their campers.

The beach is nice, a little small, but clean and fun (would be nice if your pets were allowed to swim also).

The only real negative I have is that for each group site there is a single fire pit. This made cooking, sitting around the fire, and many other things quite difficult. There IS a large charcoal grill that can be used, but if you're doing separate meals, it will be hard to coordinate.

Wish I had seen a post regarding the mattresses before we went this past weekend. I would have canceled My daughter, her husband and two kids 4 and 2 arrived to the resort cabin after a drive from Ohio to find they would be sleeping on plywood. A dirty cabin with a concrete floor and nothing to sleep on. Needless to say they went to a hotel. When talking to the staff they played a great game of pass the buck and we have still not received a call from Scott which was supposedly who the buck stopped with. They were rude and insinuated we were lying about the cleanliness but there was no way to lie about nothing to sleep on. An employee showed us where they had marked it on a brochure but there was no mention about the mattresses being removed on the paperwork I signed. I didn’t realize it was necessary to look at every page of the website. They took the time to say no pets on the contract. You’d think they’d let you know there was no place to sleep. I will be posting a poor review everywhere I can find a place to put it and disputing the charges for the misrepresented unused cabin on my credit card.

Highly recommend Wilderness State Park Campground on the north western point of lower Michigan! It’s amazing to see the sunset and the sunrise from the same spot and the Mackinaw Bridge! there’s a small dog Beech because of the plover population, but it’s sufficient. trails are amazing. Make sure to have lots of bug spray. Recommend stain closer to the beach rather than the pines. The pines tend to have more mosquitoes in my opinion.

Great family place with paved and dirt biking/hiking trails. Very nice beach with grass and sand. There are 2 areas of inflatables, one of them is for the little kids 48 in. and under. There are no dogs allowed on the sand beach, but there are plenty of grassy areas of lake access to swim with your dogs. The public bathrooms at the campground were very nice, and it was quiet and family friendly in the smaller upper loop we stayed in. It was a short drive, yet off the beaten path, and we would definitely go back.

Another year, another review.-My husband and I visit Ted Ranch every year for the NASAR race at Michigan International Speedway. This year, my review is changing a little bit. We like to camp with a little less noise and partying than the race track campgrounds have, so again, we stayed at Ted Ranch. We stayed Thursday night and I only slept a few hours because it was so loud! The noise wasn't fully from the campground though, MIS started a new music night this year at the M50 Creekside campground within the track and the music was so loud that we heard the bass and every lyric at Ted Ranch (which is a mile away from the track). The noise from within the campground was from golf carts riding around at 3:30 in the morning. We did speak with the campground owners and they ensured us it wouldn't happen again and in the future, we can always call them no matter what time. The owners are very nice and helpful, but there is still zero organization! They only accept cash and checks so make sure you have either! Golf carts are allowed and many people have them. There is still no bathhouse and only less than half of the sites are water and electric. Most sites are rustic. This is basically a field turned into a campground. We did notice that there were five or six old outhouse shells made into showers near the front of the campground!! Dogs are allowed and trust me, there are TONS of them around. There is one family that camps there every year and their dogs have charged several times. They are on a leash, but it is very scary as they are large dogs. There is a small pond, but I did not dare swim in it. There is a sign out that says "This water is not tested for E. COLI". lol. There are many seasonal sites and it appears those campers have been there for a long time! We will be staying here again next year, but I did want to warn others that you can hear the noise from the track and there are quite a few more parties than ever before. The fire pits are provided and can be moved. The campsites are very narrow and plan on your awning almost touching the person's awning next to yours! (at least at 100-112 sites).
