Got to the campground around 6pm on a Friday and no one was at the primitive campground which was nice. The picnic table and fire ring were clean and in good condition. By 10:30 the park was quiet and peaceful. Lake hasn't completely filled up yet so no fishing or boating. Would definitely come…

It is a small river campground, no shower houses, but there is a Porta potty. Never too busy even on holiday weekends.
All campsites at Timmons Grove are$18/night and are electric. I have visited this place many times but only camped once. This place has never been busy when I have visited.
I generally do not camp electric, so$18/night was steep for non-electric tent camping. There is no shower and the…

Difficult to find entrance and difficult to locate camp site. Pleasant staff. Full hookups. Best if enjoying Adventureland Amusement Park or Prairie Meadows Casino and Racetrack. Not recommended if wanting to enjoy a true outdoors camping experience.
I like this campground. It is right on the Iowa river near a takeout, so you can put in upstream and paddle down, or do as I do and paddle upstream and then back down (works when the water flow is not too swift).
This campground is quiet at night, but I will point out that it is near a popular…

Great park. Nice sites, plenty of green space, clean.
Eagle City Park has two parts - a lower campground that is a paddlers camp on the Iowa River, and an upper campground with a few secluded campsites.
All campsites are free, and there are many to choose from. I have camped in both the upper and lower campgrounds, in summer and fall. I tend to…
I live near Stoehr Fishing Area and fish there often. It has excellent shore fishing on the two ponds. The main species are black bass and bluegill, however I did catch a northern pike once. There are grass carp as well.
There really is no campsite to speak of. There is a picnic shelter and grill,…

A lovely and quiet campground. The huge drawback is the water quality of Saylorville lake. It is toxic— blue algae from farm runoff. Not safe for man or beast.
This is a great place to camp! The whole place is super clean, especially the bath house. All the spots are nice and lots of exploring to do!
Tons of trees, very lush, clean bathhouses. Fire rings, picnic tables, level gravel sites.
Great find on our way through Iowa. Clean and spacious. Very quiet, just listen to the frogs at night.
The only open site was in the North Equine Campground so we took a chance. We really did like the Campground, it was well maintained, clean and quiet. There were a few campers with horse but not many. Hitching posts behind each site which we enjoyed seeing. The roads inside the campground were all…
Quiet spot, clean area. Camp host were very friendly, most spots were easy pull throughs or back in's with a freestyle camper parking arrangement. Lots of space for each unit.
We just spent 12 days on site 137 in Jester Park. It has electric only but a water spigot not far away to fill your fresh water tank.
These were the last 2 weeks of June and there was a lot of turnover throughout the campground. It is obviously a very popular place.
The bathrooms were clean and…
