I’ve been camping at OBannon Woods for 25+ years. The campground is large, mostly shady and very well-kept. Bathhouses feel luxuriously clean and large compared to most campgrounds. There are multiple play areas for children and beautiful hiking trails within and around the campground itself.
I had the awesome experience to hammock camp on the Patton cave trail, along the creek that winds the length of that trail. It was a strenuous hike to pack in/out of, but was beautiful scenery. The cave is amazing, and if you’re interested in backwoods camping, there are an abundance of spaces to…

It has been a wonderful experience. My only complaint in the little black fly like bugs in the bathroom building (toilet pit). Other than that and the rain, it has been relaxing.
Initial campsite reserved was NOT suitable for tent camping. Had to put up our tent 3 feet from men’s bathroom door! However, we discovered we could put up our tent on a grassy area a little down the road from where all the rvs were parked. It was a walk to the restroom as a result, but it was well…
We were passing through on our way north. Chances a reservation here, as KOAs are hit or miss. We had our 16 yo grand daughter with us, and she actually had fun. Very well kept and the staff is great.

The park itself where the camping happens is actually pretty small as in one loop. We never saw a park representative. We were there on a weekday and we…

We loved the campground, it was very luscious and beautiful and even though there was a lot of people (June 2021), it still felt like you had your privacy in your own site. However, only 4 stars because we got there and somebody was parked in our assigned spot, so we called the front desk and they…
My daughter and I camped a few nights in a site right on the water. The first morning we woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the lake. The nights were still chilly, so there were very few campers. The bathrooms and showers were clean. We will definitely be going back to this jewel of a…

The electric and water hookups are not in standard locations for RV hookups. Make sure you bring an extension for your electric hookup, otherwise you might not be able to reach the post. Same for water hookup. We had a lakefront site, however it wasn’t lake view. Sites 12/13 do not have a view of…

We live here full time love the camp site an the people who run the place an live here as well
Right off the bat we appreciated the layout of the camping spots, while you have neighbors not more than 30’ from you it feels more secluded because of the vegetation growing between sites. We also loved the hiking opportunities, Rose Island is definitely a must see
Our camping spot by the lake was nice and level but it was a bit of a bluff at waters edge. You couldn’t set and fish . There were two big bushes and it was hard to throw out our lines

A Facebook sensation, so we had to try it. This is our first visit to this SRA.
43 lakeside sites. All 43 are close to each other. All have a view of Starve Hollow Lake. Electric only, with water spigots scattered throughout the campground. My picks for the best campsites are 30-34. These…

Reserved the last site available in late April. Weekend was rainy and it was busy, but everyone was very respectful and quiet. We reserved site 63, across from a lake front site. Those tenants never arrived, so we had a wonderful view!
