## Overview

West Thompson Lake Campground is located near the wooded shoreline of its namesake lake in northeastern Connecticut. The natural setting surrounding West Thompson Lake can be enjoyed year round. Visitors come to the lake for camping, fishing, boating, kayaking and hiking.

## Recreation

West Thompson Lake provides great boating, kayaking, canoeing and fishing opportunities. It has an excellent population of warm-water fish, including bass and small panfish. A boat ramp is located near the campground for easy access to the water. The Thompson Section of the Quinebaug River Water Trail offers a leisurely three-hour outing for paddlers who are comfortable with moving water. The trail has no rapids or portages and meanders through extensive wildlife habitats. An 18-hole disc golf course is located on the lakeshore and is free to the public. This challenging course is known for its long drives and scenic views of the lake and dam.

## Facilities

The entrance gate to the campground is closed from 9pm - 8am.

The campground offers 11 campsites with electric and water hookups, 11 basic sites without hookups and two Adirondack lean-to shelters.   
Amenities include accessible flush toilets and showers, and a dump station. An amphitheater, playground, basketball court, and interpretive trails are located on-site.

## Natural Features

The campground is nestled in a forest of Eastern white pine, Northern red oak and Shagbark hickory. Shade is abundant throughout the campground, and autumn leaves put on a beautiful show.

Located on a 76 acre farm, our camping areas are set up with a few spacious campsites that include tents, a fire pit, various walking trails, cool lights to subtly light up the area at night, and on-site animals that will be seen roaming throughout the property. There is also a large hops field in the center.

Walmart and various convenience stores and restaurants within 5-10 minutes driving distance. Diana’s Poul (swimming hole) 5 minutes away. DoorDash delivers from various stores and restaurants. Portapotty available, must bring water and food. See additional details for recommendations of items to bring on your trip

You can expect to encounter various types of roosters and hens as well as different breeds of goats throughout the farm. Walk through the various paths throughout the property at your leisure, but please be careful and aware of surroundings.

Paths and openings that may look like roads can have soft soil, rocks, steep drops, poison ivy or thorns - so enjoy nature, but please, be careful, don’t go too far from camp too close to dusk, always have a buddy, make sure your phone is charged, **have fun and explore at your own risk!**

Let the adventures begin!  Besides our own hiking paths, there are a bunch of local activities:  Carbuncle Pond is .5 miles and a 5 minute walk.  It is a popular spot for fishing, paddling, and walking; Nicholas Farm Management Area is .5 miles and a 5 minute walk with 1,429 acres along the Moosup River containing beautiful hiking trails; Trestle Trail and Coventry Greenway are .5 miles and a 5 minute walk.
If you are looking for a quick but delicious bite Weideles Pizza is a short 1.3 miles or a 3 minute drive with a general store and liquor store next door.
Not too far are Maxwell Mays Audubon Refuge which is 6.9 miles away, about a 12 minute drive.  Nickle Creek Vineyard and Leyden Farm Vineyard are both about a 15 minute drive.

The Space:
Relax.  Reboot.  Reconnect with nature.  Pine grove campsite is located on 190 acres of secluded, wooded land located in Greene, RI.

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling 
-Bedding and pillows
-Firewood for the campfire

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). Also worth mentioning, you can’t camp on the beach, but you won’t be far from it!

As always we are excited and can't wait to share our place with you! We are a small farmette with chickens, ducks, goats, fruits, veggies, and Irish Wolfhounds. We always wash all blankets and all other linens between guest. We are former city people who feel more than lucky to have greenspace to share! Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, weber grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, muskrats, rabbits, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species.

The cabin is 80sq. feet with sloping interior walls and with a screened side wall. There is no running water or electricity so unplug and unwind. There is a place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin. The cabin has a a full size futon with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Lanterns, cooking utensils, camp mugs, percolating coffee pot and popcorn popper are provided. Please request the cast iron skillet and butane burner, it will not be in the cabin if you do not ask for it. Outside is a deck, tiki torches and bistro table. There is a hammock, picnic table, and 2 camp chairs at your site. If you forget something you are a short walk to Cumbies, and several farms, bakeries and a large grocer are a very short drive away. Venture farther (10 minutes) to one of the nearby hiking trails. We are within 15 minutes of the Blackstone Gorge, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Cornier Woods, Franklin State Forest, Wojcik Farm, Cook's Valley Farm, the New England Bonsai Museum, Diamond Hill Vineyards, Caroline's Cannabis, Shire Conservation Area, New England Country Club, and many stables. The Commuter Rail to Boston, Wrentham Premium Outlets, and a Drive-in Theater are within 30 minutes. Use us as a base to explore Blackstone Valley, Boston and Worcester!!
