Closed for off-season

I didn't like the fact that it closes during the off- season. We like to camp in November and December.

Right below flagstaff

Great spots in between flagstaff and Sedona. Literally 10 minutes from flagstaff. Campfire pits. If you’re coming from flagstaff, there’s a left turn lane to take you into the area

Great for a one night stopover

Clean restrooms, well spaced paved spots. Convenient to the highway but no road noise. Several generators running when we pulled in, but shut off at a reasonable hour.

Peaceful and private

We stayed here for 3 nights. The sites are a very good distance apart so that you don't even see or hear your neighboring sites. Our site was cool bc it had a little driveway that took you back to a more secluded are so you don't even have to see people driving by to their sites. So the other…

Good last minute camping

After deciding to tent camp last minute, this was the only place we could find. It was the first cooler weekend of the season & was a Saturday night. It was pretty packed, but we managed to find a spot further back past the first cluster of sites. The road is pretty bumpy but it was nice &…

This is the Dyrt. If you desire dispersed camping, or not wanting to be on top of one another, then why pay for camping in Kaibab Forest at 26.00 bucks a night when you can go right across the street to YOUR land and camp picturesque for free? Dispersed it's way cool give it a try.

Beautiful Dispersed Camping

Take FR 237 off of hwy 88A south of Flagstaff. Many relatively level spots. The access road is quite rough but fairly short. I found a beautiful spot in the 400 loop for my 38' class A. Unfortunately I saw one spot that was totally trashed with piles of garbage and a few spots that had been…

Great hosts and the sites are well taken care of

It was a great site it's only a couple hundred yards from the lake. Fire pits we're available and they had running water and restrooms. Big mouth bass, trout, and catfish are stocked and biting. Little town of Williams is only 8 minutes away if you need something yet you couldn't tell it from the…

This is a nice dry campground. There is drinking water available, as well as vault toilets. The toilets have a smell that can be annoying. The lake is pretty and all sites seem to have decent views of it. The campground is close to area activities, however nice enough to stay at exclusively.

Peaceful and Pretty

I loved this campground! You can see the lake from most sites. There are plenty of small walks you take to explore. The sites are well shaded and nicely separated. There is water to fill your jug that is drinkable. The toilets are vault and can have a chemical/porta potty smell if people don’t shut…

This is a beautiful place right across the street from Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. The campsites are very generously spaced so that you feel like you have a place to yourself. The campground host is very friendly and helpful, bathrooms have flush toilets and are very clean. Plenty of…

Fantastic location

Solo camping during the week proved to be very peaceful at this site... wanting to escape the Phoenix heat for a few days, I enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, and wildlife viewing! My only complaint was that I chose a site (81) that offered zero shade! I now know better for next visit

Eh, there are better

About the same as camping on the west side of the hwy. There’s a ton of traffic, no respect from other campers who blast music, trash the forest, fire off guns at all hours, and overall not a great vibe.

Camped here over 2 days and the land, trees and forest are beautiful all around so IF you can…
