Best Dog-Friendly Camping in Wyoming

Devils Tower KOA allows pets throughout its campground accommodations including tent sites, RV spots with full hookups, and cabins. Gros Ventre Campground in Grand Teton National Park maintains pet-friendly policies with designated areas for dogs on leash. Most Wyoming dispersed camping areas like Shadow Mountain, Spread Creek, and Upper Teton View permit pets while requiring owners to maintain control of their animals at all times. Several campgrounds provide water and waste stations specifically for pets, though dogs must remain leashed in developed areas. Fire rings and picnic tables at many sites allow for comfortable camping with pets, and the spacious nature of dispersed sites provides room for pets to rest near their owners. Campground data and reviews near Wyoming is regularly updated on The Dyrt.

Curtis Canyon dispersed camping offers spectacular Teton views with pet-accessible fire pits at each of its 18 free sites. Wildlife considerations require special attention when camping with pets, as ranger alerts about bears in camping areas are common. The road to Pacific Creek designated dispersed sites features several miles of washboard terrain but rewards pet owners with beautiful streamside camping and bear boxes for secure food storage. Summer mosquitoes can be problematic for pets, particularly in areas near water sources. Flagstaff Road dispersed camping provides easy access to Grand Teton National Park with multiple pull-offs suitable for various vehicle types, though some sites may require AWD. Many Wyoming campgrounds implement quiet hours that help manage potential barking disturbances, particularly in more populated established campgrounds like Jenny Lake and Mammoth Campground in Yellowstone.

    Star Valley Ranch RV Park

Near location attractions like Crystal Lake

Nice dog park for big and small dogs. At this campground, you are a little close to neighbors but they stagger the trailers so it works. Nice trees for shade. The restrooms were as clean but they were older facilities. No road noise.

    Deer Creek Village RV Park

Next door dog park was a nice bonus

The office building was equipped with convenient amenities, boasting well-maintained men's and women's bathroom/shower rooms, as well as a set of 4 washers and 4 dryers - all of which made my stay even more comfortable. The camper hook ups were a breeze, with flawless water, electric, and sewage connections. I especially appreciated the concrete slab next to my camper, perfect for grilling, playing bag toss, or simply relaxing in chairs.

The location couldn't have been better - nestled right by the city park, I felt the location was perfect. Being close to Deer Creek added a touch of nature to the experience. I noticed ongoing improvements, such as the replacement of gravel sites and the addition of new cement slabs, truly showing a commitment to enhancing the RV park. The presence of shade trees was nice, and the adjacent city park, complete with a dog park, was a fantastic bonus.

Little America RV Park - A Traveler's Oasis

    Brand New RV Park

Great stay here. No real amenities except for a good bar and restaurant. We had lunch there one day. Decent space between sites. No dog park although large grassy area to walk the dogs. RV park is not gated.

Very friendly staff. Clean Park and quiet.

    Dubois-Wind River KOA

    Unique area

Dubois/Wind River KOA, Dubois , Wyoming

Dubois , Wyoming is another town on the old west trail. I only stayed overnight after Grand Teton NP but would have stayed longer had my schedule allowed to explore more. It is a little touristy but there is history there if you search it out.

The KOA was a smaller one, back behind a gas station which was convenient. There are cool TP’s that you can rent and the cabins site along the Wind River which makes for some nice scenery when you are chilling at the campground. Don’t look to hard though, across the river is a neighborhood. The road in was a little rough and the gravel needed some maintenance, otherwise it was a well maintained parking lot like so many of the KOA’s are now. The playground equipment looked archaic! I did not use any of the facilities so I have no information on them and there was no dog park. I arrived after close, found my paperwork on the lite kiosk and I left out in the morning before the office opened. For the price I expect more but it seems like the area dictates the quality of the KOA.

    Buffalo KOA

Everything you expect from a KOA

It's a typical KOA. Well maintained. Clean. Great showers/rest rooms. Close sites. Pool wasn't open yet. Store. Very friendly staff. Close to town and the interstate. Dog park. Playground. Some road noise. Propane. Wifi.

    Restway Travel Park

    Words truly can’t describe

The positive comment, the staff is friendly. Someone helped back our RV into our spot, but they have to because the spots are soooo tiny and wedged between residential motor homes. The place looks more like a junk yard or an RV used sales lot, which it is! The dog park is the size of a postage stamp, but at least they have one. We needed a place to stay and it sufficed, but this is not an RV “park” in any sense of the word.
