Best RV Parks & Resorts near Webster, WI

Several RV parks near Webster, Wisconsin provide year-round and seasonal options for motorhome travelers. Country Quiet RV Park and Campground in Cumberland offers full hookups with 50-amp service, water, and sewer connections on spacious sites that accommodate larger RVs. "This is a very nice RV park with plenty of sites that appear to be expanding. Sites are fairly spread out with an easy loop system making the campground very easy to navigate," noted one visitor. St. Croix Casino and Hotel RV Park in Turtle Lake operates from May through October, offering electric hookups and water connections but no sewer at individual sites. The northern area includes Pardun's Jack Pine Campground with full hookup sites, while Hole in the Wall RV Park in Danbury provides year-round access.

Most RV parks in the region require reservations during summer months, particularly on weekends. Road conditions generally support large motorhomes, though some areas may present tight turns for longer rigs. Dump stations are available at Country Quiet and Grand Casino RV Resort, though reviews indicate some awkward placement. Washburn County Totogatic Park, though farther from Webster, has received criticism for its dump station configuration with one visitor noting the "absolutely ridiculous placement of the dump station that requires maneuvering around one of the campground loops and blocking part of a main road." Big rig access varies significantly between parks, with some providing pull-through sites while others limit access to smaller Class A and Class C motorhomes under 30 feet.

    Grand Casino RV Resort

Park’s designers hav never been in an RV

The designers of this park have clearly never spent a night in an RV. This place pushes all of my buttons for things not to do when building an RV park.

Virtually every site in the park is a blind back in from the driver seat. You’re trying to back your trailer into a site on the right side without being able to see anything over there. Additionally, the site number pedestals for each site are right against the corner of the driveway where you have to back around them without being able to see them. Number pedestals for all sites are also right against the road, limiting the amount that you can swing your tow vehicle to the opposite side of the road to back into the site.  I will guarantee that not one person on the design team has ever backed, a travel trailer or fifth wheel into an RV site. The owners should have checked the credentials of the designers they hired. If they did, they were lied to. If they didn’t, then they just didn’t care about their customers.

Finally, one of my all-time favorites, all of the sewer connections are cut off about 12 inches above the ground. This means that even in a relatively tall fifth wheel, you are going to be trying to make shit filled water flow uphill. These things need to be cut off just an inch or two above the ground level  so that your sewage can flow downhill.

If you were here to spend an evening gambling at the casino, the place is roomy and well maintained. If you just want to spend the night, and not spend half of it trying to get into your site and set up, there’s got to be someplace close that would be better to go. We won’t be back.

    Pathfinder Village-St Croix

    Tall Tall Trees

Lots of tall evergreen trees (not sure of the specific species) here that you are nestled in. Have to know a seasonal site holder to camp here. Sites can be a little tricky backing into because of the trees, but ultimately they have enough space even for large rigs(there were three of us there: 2 5th wheels and one longer travel trailer). A picnic table and fire ring was provided at each site. Nice easy road to navigate getting into the campground. Close to Hinckley if you're looking for things to do!

    Banning State Park Campground

    Winter camping

This is a great place for winter camping! The campsites are large enough (despite the snow) to set up suitable winter tents, and each site has a picnic table and fire pit. In the park, there's a lot of ice climbing and cross country skiing. If you take a short walk from the main parking area towards the bathroom, and follow the trail alongside the bluff, you'll find awesome spots to climb and likely a lot of dedicated adventurers. Nearby the campsite you have a great water source, and a lot of peace and quiet at night despite being close to a residential area and town.

    Moose Lake City Park

    Will come again!

We stayed in site 27 and it was perfect for our truck, 40ft fifth wheel camper, and utv trailer. Its nice that the campground allows utv/atv access. If you are double pulling with a atv/utv trailer it is very challenging to use the dump station!!

Only downfall was all the goose poop and bugs, but thats to be expected on the lake. The weekend host and his wife were very nice people!

    Grand Casino RV Resort

    Rocking RockTember Music Festival

We booked our stay at the RV Resort so we wouldn't have to drive two and a half hours back and forth during the two day Grand RockTember Music Festival. *Please note when there's an event, book early!! This RV Resort has 271 RV/Camping full hook up sites that include a picnic table and fire pit. The sites are very close together with little to no privacy, but it did a fine job as we were there for the concert. Guest Services were super friendly when we checked in, and they give you a pass card to enter & exit the Resort. There is 24 hour security, and shuttle bus service to the casino, although we enjoyed the 1/2 mile walk to the amphitheater. All the sites are back in only, and are a tight squeeze for bigger rigs. They enforced the quite hours well, and we got a good nights sleep. There's a heated outdoor pool, and small convince store in the guest services building. They have a pet walking area, and kennels if you want to spend time at the casino. The bathhouse offered private toilet stalls and showers, and we squeaky clean!!! If you like to golf, don't miss the 18 hole Grand National Golf Course next door. We enjoyed our stay, and will be back again.

    Wild River State Park Campground

    Lots to Explore/Learn

I’ll say, one of the best parts of this park is all the interpretative kiosks. Love learning about the forestry and history of state parks!  Also many options for trails which is great. A lot of wildlife here, I heard a ton of coyotes and geese, a woodpecker, and a beaver under the bridge in the evening chomping away at peeling logs... totally scared me at first but he was just doing his job and I tried not to bother him!

I stayed at the backpacking site: SPRING. It’s just a short hike (bout 400 meters)  from the river access where there is a vaulted toilet snd water year-round. The site had a bench overlooking the river and a rugged stair for water access. Also had a little personal rustic toilet just a trail behind the site. Nice and wooded campsite, soft dirt, and fairly spacious! In wet months, I bet it's pretty muddy. The only drawback is that the trail it’s situated on is the hiking club trail and heavily trafficked. I stayed in winter, where you could see through the trees and all that tho. Maybe in summer, it’s more secluded? But still, something to keep in mind.

Took a peek at the campground- some of the most spaced out and wooded sites I’ve seen yet. I like that they made it in separated loops, to avoid through traffic distracting your stay. Love the visitors center, great overlook, and interesting information. By the trail center, which is also very cozy and rents, skis and snowshoes and has a great inside fireplace, there is an interpretative walk about white pines- great for kids to imagine those huge trees! They do a great job aiding the imagination as you walk along the short trail.

Camper cabins here are up on a bluff- didn’t stay there but totes want to! Nicely situated.

Everything that I checked out here was very well managed and they clearly put a lot of time and care into making this park functional, interesting, and accessible. I loved my little backpack site but can’t wait to come back to camp in the summer or rent a cabin! The river is gorgeous, even as it was frozen in winter!

What to do

Lake activities and fishing: The Grand Casino RV Resort in Hinckley provides access to nearby lakes. "Great campground for an RV park. The sites are decent sized, with a few scattered trees. Nice amenities and facilities. It's a great place to come if you want to have a last-minute camping weekend," notes Deb M.

ATV trail access: Pardun's Jack Pine Campground offers direct access to ATV trails. A reviewer mentioned, "If you looking for a great ATV campground or looking for a campground under $1500, this is the place to go! Lots to do near by Legion 1.3 miles away and a great cafe as well across the street."

River adventures: Paddlers can enjoy river experiences near Wildwood RV Park & Campground. "We went canoeing and kayaking and they provided a shuttle right from their main office. The paddlewheel boat ride on the St Croix River was amazing. We even saw bald eagles on the ride," shares Amy F.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention bathroom cleanliness as important. At Wildwood RV Park & Campground, a visitor noted, "We love this RV Park & Campground because of the location with having so much to do on and off-site. All the staff is very nice and it is a family-oriented park which we love."

Pet amenities: Banning RV Park and Campground provides exceptional pet facilities. "We absolutely loved the dog park. It was not just some small dog area it was top of the line dog park," writes Matt P., who was impressed enough to return for a second visit.

Proximity to attractions: Many campers appreciate locations near state parks and recreation areas. "If you are planning to explore the Kettle River and Banning State Park nearby, this is a good alternative to camping within the State Park itself," explains Janet R. about Banning RV Park, noting it's "only ½ mile from the Banning State Park entrance."

What you should know

Water hookup arrangements: Some campgrounds have shared water hookups requiring Y-connectors. One camper at Banning RV Park reported: "Our water source ended up being 75' plus from our RV. Thankfully I just happened to be carrying the extra hose for several years but never had to use it before."

Seasonal changes: Many Webster area campgrounds operate seasonally. Wolf's Den RV Campground Resort & Tavern runs from April 15 to October 1, while most others close by late October. A visitor described Wolf's Den as "more like a summer community" with "a majority of sites taken up with permanent RV set ups."

Site variations: Campground layouts and site quality vary significantly. One camper at Banning RV Park noted: "Our sites were grass that was a little long and rutted from what seemed from previous tenants. This made getting leveling a little difficult and out fold out stairs touched the ground before fully being deployed."

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Look for campgrounds with recreation options. Wildwood offers "pool and playground were clean and nice. Our site had it's own picnic table and firepit. The kids tried the bike trail that they could access right from the campground," according to a reviewer.

Nearby attractions: Plan day trips to expand options. A Wildwood camper recommended: "Be sure to check out Franconia sculpture garden if you're staying here and have the time! It's such a fun and quirky place."

Campsite selection: Choose sites strategically based on family needs. One visitor at Banning shared: "We stayed in site 297, a very large double tent site with soft grass for tenting, big shady trees, picnic table and fire ring, with possibility for water and electric hookup."

Tips from RVers

Parking challenges: Some RV sites have difficult angles. At Grand Casino RV Resort, a camper warned: "Back-in site was 90 degrees to the road - if the bathhouse parking lot wasn't across from it, wouldn't have been able to swing in on a 24' travel trailer."

Site layout issues: Several RVers mention frustration with poorly designed parks. One experienced RVer explained: "The designers of this park have clearly never spent a night in an RV. This place pushes all of my buttons for things not to do when building an RV park. Virtually every site in the park is a blind back in from the driver seat."

Sewer connection positioning: Pay attention to hookup placement. A Grand Casino RV Resort guest observed: "All of the sewer connections are cut off about 12 inches above the ground. This means that even in a relatively tall fifth wheel, you are going to be trying to make shit filled water flow uphill."
