Utah is primarily known for two things: its world-class skiing and winding slot canyons. But the Beehive State has much more to offer the outdoor enthusiast. For desert dwellers, Monument Valley never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that leaves a person searching for meaning. When the sun dips below the monuments and the sky radiates with color, it’s easy to see why the Navajo people revere the land. Media buffs will also recognize the familiar landmarks from film and TV. Those visiting Bears Ears can see Monument Valley in the distance from campsites like Muley Point.


Campers who visit Goblin Valley get a unique experience. An amphitheater of bizarrely-shaped hoodoos greets visitors. Even though there are hoodoos all over Utah, none compare to the “goblins” in this state park. They make an excellent backdrop for photos, adventure, games, and soul-searching.


A worthy Utah destination is Zion National Park, growing more popular by the year. The etched canyon walls make a lasting impression, as they jut thousands of feet up from the earth. The sense of perspective visitors experience keeps them coming back. The Watchman campground is a popular choice for campers. It offers accessibility to trails, the Virgin River, a shuttle bus, and the adjacent town. 


Many will also make a trip to nearby Bryce Canyon National Park, to see the infamous spires. Staying at the North campground is a great way to see the best parts of the park.


It doesn’t take a road trip to go camping in Utah. The state capital, Salt Lake City, butts up against the Wasatch Mountains. Fifteen minutes up one of the canyons is all it takes to trade city noise for alpine meadows and lakes. In the summer, Albion Basin blooms with color. Red Pine Lake is a secluded campsite with two lakes and frequent wildlife sightings.


For a different kind of mountain experience, the Uinta Mountains aren’t much farther. They’re the only mountain range in the contiguous US that runs east-west. Still part of the Rockies, they’re Utah’s highest range, with King’s Peak topping out at 13,528 feet. Most of the camping is dispersed, but Mirror Lake is a great campground right off the main scenic highway.

To ensure your comfort, hi-speed Wi-Fi, electricity and drinking water are also onsite.

The campsite shares a driveway with a small cabin, which makes the utilities in this remote mountain landscape possible. Please note that Cabin renters will not be present during your stay at the campsite, but owners and contractors may occasionally be at the cabin to perform cleaning and maintenance. The campsite bathroom consists of a 5 gallon camp toilet (hand pump flush style) and hand-washing station in a separate, private tent on the perimeter of camp. Please be considerate of others and refrain from using the campsite property as a restroom. If you’d prefer a luxury indoor bathroom with a flushing toilet while you camp, access to the cabin may be available at reasonable rates. If you plan on cooking onsite with the grilling equipment provided and did not bring your own fuel, charcoal briquettes and propane tanks can also be purchased on site via QR code.

Aspen Forest Campsite

## Overview

South Fork Campground is located on the banks of the South Fork Ogden River at an elevation of 5,200 feet, just 7 miles from Huntsville, Utah. Campers love the park for its great river access. Tubing and fishing are very popular activities.

## Recreation

Campers enjoy fishing and tubing on the South Fork. Several hiking and mountain biking trails begin in the area.

## Facilities

The campground contains several single and double-family sites with picnic tables, campfire rings, utility tables and cement site pads. Vault toilets and drinking water are provided. Firewood is available for purchase from the host. Roads and parking spurs are gravel. 

## Natural Features

This scenic campground is situated among cottonwoods and willow. Moose and deer wander through the campground on occasion. The South Fork runs alongside the campground. 

## Nearby Attractions

Beautiful Ogden Valley has numerous boating, fishing, hiking, horseback and off-road vehicle riding and scenic driving opportunities. Pineview Reservoir is a short drive from the campground with boating, fishing and swimming.   
  
Causey Reservoir is close by, offering great canoeing and fishing, as well as hiking, biking and horseback riding trails.  
  
Highway 39 continues on to Monte Cristo Summit with sweeping mountain views. ATV and hiking trails are abundant in the area.

**Late Cancellations**

  * Overnight and Day Use Facilities: Late cancellations are those cancelled between 12:01 a.m. (Eastern) on the day before arrival and check out time on the day after arrival.
  * Individual Campsites: If a customer cancels a reservation the day before or on the day of arrival they will be charged a $10.00 service fee and will also forfeit the first night's use fee (not to exceed the total paid for the original reservation). Cancellations for a single night's reservation will forfeit the entire use fee but no cancellation fee will apply.

**Refunds**

  * Refunds for Bankcard Purchases: Refunds for bank card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank card.

Anderson Cove Campground is a popular facility located 10 miles east of Ogden, Utah, on the banks of Pineview Reservoir in scenic Ogden Valley. Visitors enjoy boating, fishing, swimming, and pineview resevoir camping. Recreation Campers come to Anderson Cove for picnicking, fishing, swimming and boating. Pineview Reservoir offers excellent water skiing opportunities. Kayaking and canoeing are popular on the reservoir's quieter coves. A boat ramp, swimming beach, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits are located within the campground. Facilities This large campground contains five group sites that can each accommodate up to 100 people. Two of these sites are accessible and all five have large picnic shelters. ## Overview

Port Ramp Marina is a boat slip rental facility located just 10 miles from Ogden, Utah, on the west side of Pineview Reservoir in scenic Ogden Valley. The marina is the most used launching facility at Pineview, which is the busiest reservoir in the state. 

#### Natural Features:

Pineview Reservoir lies on the backside of the Wasatch Front. Ogden Valley is comprised of patchwork farmland surrounded by beautiful peaks.

#### Recreation:

Boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing are popular activities on Pineview Reservoir.

#### Facilities:

The marina rents boat slips for the entire season, from mid-May through September. The facility has a concrete boat ramp and a large paved parking lot with a designated area for slip holders. An adjacent gravel lot is used for overflow parking and dry storage.  
  
Dry storage can be purchased for a day, month or season. A public dock is on-site. A dump station and vault toilets are located in the paved parking lot. 

#### Nearby Attractions:

Anderson Cove Campground is located 5 miles away on the south shore of Pineview Reservoir. It offers both family and group campsites and a swimming beach.

Port Ramp Marina

North Fork Park is a 2600-acre camping and outdoor gem located in Liberty, Utah on the eastern side of the Wasatch Mountain Range. North Fork Park has four qualities that set it apart from many other Dark Sky Parks: urban adjacency, intense focus on wildlife, an extensive outreach program, and innovative public art incorporating dark skies themes. The combination of these characteristics results in a unique dark sky experience for the approximately 2.2 million people living along the adjacent Wasatch Front.

North Fork County Park

This campground is located on the far side of the river from Highway 39. The entrance is the same as Upper Meadows, but instead of turning left, stay on the road, cross the bridge and turn to the right at the top of the hill. This campground is one of the most spacious with the individual sites quite far apart. The grass is usually tall and thick. This campground has firewood available to purchase from the on-site Campground Host. Popular local recreation activities include fishing, hiking, swimming and tubing down the South Fork Ogden River (a life jacket is required for all tubers). Causey Reservoir, a scenic mountain lake, is four miles east.

Lower Meadows Campground

There is no longer a Maples campground north of the Snowbasin Ski Resort. All picnic tables, firerings and restrooms have been removed. The public may still camp in the area, but must camp away from the trail that goes through the site. All access is walk-ins/bicycles/horses only, no motor vehicles, it is approximately 1/2 mile from the gate. The gate just off the pavement at the lower Snowbasin parking lot is the gravel trail/road to the area.

Maples Campground - Dispersed Camping Only

Salt Lake City is quickly becoming not only a destination to visit but one to live in as well. With an abundance of nearby forests and BLM land, and lots of parks to drive to, it’s clear why this section of Utah is becoming so desirable.

It’s hard to choose the best camping near Salt Lake City. The Wasatch National Forest does make a strong case, though. If you like camping by the water, there’s plenty of BLM land near Utah Lake and the Great Salt Lake. Salt Lake City, UT, is uniquely positioned in that you can visit forest campsites by driving east or have your pick of desert campgrounds when driving west. Whatever you choose, there will be an abundance of places to set your tent or RV.
