The camp sites are always well maintained, as are the bath facilities. The campsites have excellent access to hiking trails and a short drive gives you access to a lake which will rent you boats if you lack one. Multiple times every summer and we have yet to be disappointed.
What a clean, quiet, well cared for campground!! I saw some negative comments on another site and was very surprised. The sites are sufficiently large. Certainly one can see other campers but check the site map and you can certainly find sites more private than others.
VERY dog friendly. They have an off leash dog area and swimming area. The trails are nice, wooded, uncrowded. Cross the street and you can access the canal trail surrounded by protected land. Great for walking/biking combined with canal traffic watching. We walked the dogs along trail and saw 1 other person. Another day we drove along the dirt roads along the canal and saw 2 other vehicles the whole time.
Easy to ride into Wilmington as well as very close to the Brandywine area.
Do yourself a favor and visit Hagley Museum!
I definitely recommend this campground!
Nice campground with great activities for the family. Some include fishing at the pond, swimming pool with amazing slides, and if your into cars a race drag strip down the street.
This campground had been let go with poor management for many years, HOWEVER the new management and staff have really turned it around!! The grounds are beautiful and free of trash, the cabins are beautiful and clean, bathrooms are amazing for a campground, staff is very friendly and they truly go above and beyond. I can’t wait to see what else they improve in the years to come!!
Very large park. Showed up on Wednesday, and was assigned a spot in loop 700 up on a hill in the center of a ring of trailers, past a lot of full-timers. Cable does not work. No internet. 2 bars LTE on T-Mobile. We stayed in loop 700 - very nice, new and well-maintained area with mature trees and lovely fall colors. It appears locals keep their rigs here and use the area as vacation homes… outer ring of area had unoccupied trailers, but they were well kept and cute. Stayed over Thursday night as well. Laundromat with 5 washers/dryers. Coin machine empty, but they had change at check-in building. They have showers, but we didn’t check them out. Peaceful park.
This place has staff that doesn’t seem interested in renting spaces or assisting customers. Much has closed because of COVID-19, and apparently this camp ground is subsidized. It is chocked full of gnomes and other overly cute plywood cutouts. Surprised they don’t just go ahead and add a tilt-a-whirl!
