    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Campgrounds near Fostoria, Ohio include several established sites with diverse accommodation options. Van Buren State Park Campground, located along Township Road 218, features tent, RV, and cabin camping with electric hookups and basic amenities. Adventure Bound Pleasant View offers year-round camping with full hookups for RVs alongside tent sites and cabins. The region includes both state park facilities and privately operated campgrounds within a 20-mile radius of Fostoria, with most sites providing at least electric hookups and basic amenities like picnic tables and fire rings.

Most campgrounds in the area operate seasonally, typically from April through October, though some remain open year-round. Road access is generally good with paved approaches to established campgrounds. "Campground is small but well maintained. Hiking is great. Probably better for people with horses," noted one visitor about Van Buren State Park. Amenities vary significantly between locations, with state parks often providing more basic facilities (pit toilets, no showers) while private campgrounds offer full hookups, shower buildings, and additional recreational facilities. Reservation requirements are common, especially for weekend stays during summer months, and many campgrounds do not accept walk-ins.

Campers report varying experiences with noise levels and site quality throughout the region. Several visitors mentioned train noise as a detraction at some locations, particularly at Meadow Brook Campground where "constant trains right across the street blowing their horns" affected the camping experience. Water recreation opportunities exist at several campgrounds, with Adventure Bound Pleasant View featuring both a swimming pool and pond with inflatable water activities. Family-friendly amenities appear most abundant at private campgrounds, which often include playgrounds, recreational facilities, and organized activities. Shade coverage varies by location, with Van Buren State Park receiving positive mentions for its flat, shaded sites. Proximity to hiking trails represents another highlight for outdoor enthusiasts, though trail systems are generally modest compared to more mountainous regions.

      Kelleys Island State Park Campground

      Island time

Spent a week on a full hook-up site with our Class C! Although it was tough to get a spot, totally worth the $200 ferry ride over. With dogs and kids, the quarter mile walk to the beach (and then East away from the public beach area) was easy peasy and we were able to set up our own little beach area. Even being the second week of July, this area of the beach didn’t have very many people and it was awesome to let the kids and dogs all play. Originally we had planned to rent a golf cart, but when we rode our bike to town, we realized it was such a short ride we didn’t need a golf cart. We utilized bikes to go out to dinner a few times, and even ride around the perimeter of the island. Our full hookup site specifically was not in the shade, but it looked like most full hook ups were. Next time we will consider an electric only down by the beach, as it was easily 10° cooler with a breeze down there. This campground would’ve been five stars, except for the bathhouse was dire need of cleaning. Not sure if this is a result of coming off a holiday weekend, but either way we popped in a few times throughout the week and it was pretty gross.

      Back 40 Campground

      Great park.

Stayed over 4th of July. Place was packed. We only stayed two days but had to pay for three. We knew this going in, and I don't blame them for requiring a 3 day stay on holidays because they're just packed; and if you only booked two days , they would lose out on a day because nobody's going to take just one day. Was worth the extra $. As to the park, it is very nice. Clean, mowed and trimmed. Great roads. There are quite a few full timers and several that rent the same slots continously and stay only part time. Access is controlled by a gate and if you arrive after 10pm you'll have to park outside in overflow and walk to your camper. We did not find this to be a problem. Narrow driveway in and out of park, RVs can't pass each other so giving way is a must. Back 40 has many sites and is very popular with the locals Several are only elect and water, quite a few appear to be full hookup, but not sure how many are permanently rented. All Rigs in the park when we stayed were well kept up - no junk ones. Internet was overwhelmed while we were there due to too many users. However we had great 5G Verizon service. Owners and staff were great. Only 2 showers in each gender. They are a bit dated but generally clean and very usable. We really enjoyed our stay and would book again should we return. We didn't have time for investigating local sites, but the Muesum of the US Air Force is a one hr drive and VERY worth the trip. It will take you 6 or 7 hrs to see it all. Highly recommend this park.

      East Harbor State Park Campground

      Easy layover

Just staying here one night before moving on. We snagged one of the full hookup sites, B131. It has a nice open grassy area, picnic table, and Firepit with some mature trees, providing plenty of shade for this site. Although lots of campers on top of each other, being an end site gave us more room and privacy. We walked a trail along the water, to the beach. It was a nice well-maintained trail, and only a little over a mile to get to the beach.

      East Harbor State Park Campground

      Really Nice State Park!

The campground is very nice with clean facilities, activities and nice sites (especially in areas A and B). If you are there in June, expect Mayflies. No big deal, just be prepared. My only negative is the beach could have been a bit cleaner.

      Tee Pee Family Campground

Overnight just okay - better for long term campers

We were traveling home and needed a place to stay for the night and hoped for full hookup.  Looked up and found this place and another that was reportedly 3x the number of sites who was having a big hog roast that evening.  This was the largest campground we stayed at during our 2 week trip and our first RV trip generally.  The spaces were close (tight) and thankfully we had a small class C.  Many seemed to be permanent with full builds of patios and covers.  Firepits at each site were old tire rims.  Quiet hours are late (11 PM) and we are not late people.  Probably fine if you want to spend time engaging with everyone around you, you sleep well and have good sound dampening in your rig.  For the occasional overnight to just get home or to the next place, take this place for what it is, a place for long term campers ideally with kids.  Was a good learning opportunity to avoid such places in the future.

      White Oak Campground

      Nice place

Primitive tent camping, to include a picnic table and fire pit in each campsite. There's a building with both men's and women's flushable toilets and sinks with running water, no showers. There's also a dish washing sink on the outside of the building. There's a playground for children, bigger shelter with picnic tables, and also group campsites available. It's $25 per night for individual campsites and $35 per night for group campsites. Some sites are in the open, and some are surrounded by trees. Lots of spiders and other wildlife. It's a nice campground, with wood bundles for sale, using a credit or debit card.

      Farnsworth Campground

      Nice place

It's $25 per night for individual campsites, and $35 per night for the group site. The individual campsites both also have shelters, picnic table, and fire rings. The shelter also has a place built-in for a fire. Bench seats around the interior perimeter of the shelter, along with hooks for hammock beds. It's literally right on the Maumee River, so you can easily fish while in your individual campsite! There are portable toilets on the grounds, and the campsites are beside a walking trail and boat launch.
