Nice spot not too far from Denver

Just completed 2 nights at Echo Lake. Decent overall campground with quick access from Denver area. Water pump is not functioning as of 6/24, so bring your own water. Busy area with tourists and traffic to Mt Evans. Road noise settles down after dark. Ok privacy. We were on site 6 with two tents.…

Great campground near RMNP

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Rocky Mountain National park. Reserved in advanced, its on the expensive side. Camp hosts were great! Showers immaculate. Hiking trail from campground can take you into park. Our site was not big but worked perfect for our van.

The best spot

I’ve been going to this spot for years. It’s a small first come first serve campground. It’s clean, has spacious spots and gorgeous hiking right from camp. A creek and beaver ponds scatter the area. I’m not sure how busy it is on weekends but on a Tuesday, we were one of three groups and couldn’t…

Perfect camping

The trail getting to the camp was moderately difficult. I took my Kia Telluride up the trail and just had to take it slow as to not bottom out of rocks. The trail has a couple of creek crossings, gorgeous views but we did not go all the way up the trail as we were just looking for camping. We only…

Not bad for a few days

Campground is easy to get in and out of. 43' plus toad was no problem in and out if site. Also easy access to the water and boat ramp. It also had great views. Wind was not too bad for us but that meant lots of very hungry mosquitos so pack up on deet (was still attacked after spraying the…

Partial closures

Jun 22: Areas to camp in are limited (thankfully) and spread out. Due to high traffic of campers BLM has posted "No Camping" signs along part of the road up until the fork. And because of dry weather area is in a Stage 1 (no open fires). PLEASE, pack it in pack it out. LEAVE NO TRACE. Winter…

Amazing views, Great hosts

Made a mistake with the booking but the hosts were so amazing and helpful that we were able to work it out. There are bathrooms, showers, and a good amount of space between each site. You can purchase wood and ice at the store at the entrance of the campsites.

Good spot!

Site 5 was a great spot for a bigger group. It was nice to be tucked away in the corner with no groups behind us or next to us. There were other campers near by but it felt pretty private. The weather was great. We didn’t make it to the gross reservoir but it was nice to have the option of a good…

Perfect Experience

We arrived on a Sunday morning without a reservation and were lucky to snag a first-come first-served site. Our site was very spacious and private, which is exactly what we were after. The site offers both shaded and unshaded areas. The camp host has firewood for sale just in case you run out. The…

Best of the upper campsites

I took a look at Aspen Glen and Sleeping Elephant up the road and this had the perfect balance of next to the river and shade. Also, reliable water, which the others apparently don't have. I stayed at site 6 which is right next to the river and gets afternoon shade. #9 or #7 might be even better.…

Great campground, no water!

Burning bear is a great, small campground. Sadly, the well water is non-potable, but there is a waterfall down the road where you can get water to filter. The location is great, especially if you want to hike Mt Bierstadt. They do take reservations, so snag one if you can.

Super Unplugged

I adored this road! There were no more places available but an RV let us set up a tent with a fire pit on the other side of their RV. Close to hikes including Bierdstat and Silver Lake. Roads were good too considering I have a tiny hyundai.

Location is nice. But it can get packed quick.

Went up for some close Winter camping back in March. There was still a decent amount of people camping around us but it was super nice and quiet. Spaces are very private the farther back you go. there are 12 numbered sites spaced well apart the farther back you go. I have been here before in the…

Pleasant Area

Camped at site E22. Close proximity to showers and bathrooms. Parked a 21 foot trailer. Surface was somewhat level. Had to raise the front a bit but wasn't that drastic. Notice-hammocks are not allowed at eagle campground. Understandable, they want to protect the pine trees.
