We happened to love our site! The reservation map on Recreation.gov was actually a pretty accurate representation of how each site was spaced from the other. Hosts were perfectly helpful and friendly. No complaints whatsoever!

Probably the best campsite I’ve been at. Views are surreal. The road up took about 20 minutes in my Tacoma (not 4x4 and a bitch of an engine but I did totally fine). I got there around 4pm on a Wednesday and there was still quite a few sites to choose from.

This park is very well-kept and the views are amazing. Most sites are huge (center sites alittle close together) and they offer full hookup, pull thru, and back-in sites. There are trees for shade. Owners are onsite and extremely friendly and professional. There are modern, private restrooms…
Beautiful site! Rough road coming up would recommend not trying it without a 4wheel drive vehicle. Awesome easy trips leading to the second lake. Had a bit of rain and small but never lasted long.

Found this place last year and fell in love. It now our new annual start to camping season.
This was our first camping trip but we loved the campsite and the pool!
This has been on my bucket list for decades. Having traveled Hwy 550 so many times over the years I would always be overwhelmed by the setting which is still OVERWHELMING.
This was the last of 3-2 night stays in search of the perfect paddling spot. I booked it back in March 2021 for June of the…
This was the first stop of 3 - 2 night stays on this search to find great camping with easy access to water and preferably within a days drive of my house. I recreational kayak so access to water is at the top of my list of must haves if paddling is on the list of must do’s. This was a survey…

West Dolores was beautiful, peaceful and nearly perfect. The only caution I would give is that although the campground information on Recreation.gov correctly states that there are water spigots throughout the campground, the written rules we were given on arrival expressly forbid filling RV tanks…
Incredibly friendly staff, great store with camping necessities and fun swag. Dog park was large enough with a shaded tree and benches. Pickle ball, movie night, pool, playground ect included. Almost every space was filled but it was quiet because the activities are spread nicely away from where we…
All the decent campgrounds were full. We needed a place to dump and fill water. WiFi is terrible and cell service is on extended network. It’s by the river but you can’t see for all the weeds.
This is an RV Park with many RV Spaces, tent sites, and some cabins for rent. The RV sites are easy to get into, relatively level, and have tables and grill/fire pits. There is gravel on the spaces- although they could add more gravel. Nice dog park divided into two areas so your dogs don’t have to…
We spent a total of 8 days at this campground with 2 dogs and 3 kids. it was amazing falling asleep to the sound of the river at night and waking up to the call of singing birds. We enjoyed all the area had to offer. I recommend bringing decent bug repellent as the mosquitos can get heavy at dawn…
The campground was crowded with very little privacy.
