What campers like
Secluded sites at Rampart Range: Most dispersed sites offer good distance from neighbors. "We went up for a quick weekend trip and it was perfect, lots of campsites along the road and not too close together. The road was decent to drive on a few bumps but nothing crazy. The sites were clean and well maintained," shares Emma H. from Rampart Range Recreation Area.
Wildlife viewing opportunities: Early mornings provide the best chance to see local wildlife. "My husband and I stayed in this beautiful campground in 2018 June. The wild life was beautiful, the facilities were clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful," reports Cassandra T. from Chatfield State Park Campground.
Clean facilities at Indian Creek: The campground maintains basic but well-kept amenities. "This is a lovely campground with a very friendly host. Our campsite had a very nice, large picnic table and a fire pit with an adjustable grate. It also had a grill and a very nice flat area for our tent," says Rachel H. from Indian Creek Campground.
Weekday solitude: Most campgrounds report significant differences in crowds between weekdays and weekends. "We came up Sunday and drove around for an hour trying to find a spot. It was so busy with campers and there were dirt bikers everywhere! Sunday evening it cleared up and we were the only ones there mon-tues!"
