RangerThis campground is family and dog friendly and close to Williamsburg tourist destinations. It has multiple sites for rvs, tents, camping cabins, yurts, and nicer more fully equipped cabins with bathrooms. They even have a fantastic dog bath and holding kennel in case you have more than one dog. They have a pool with a sprayground and a grassy area with ping pong and corn hole. Plus, they always have activities for the kids. Love this place and can't wait to go back.
GuideSpots are close together so you will get to meet your neighbors if they are there. You can rent yearly spots if you want. Some spots back up against the water. It has a pier, pond, river access, ice cream shop/store, cafe. There aren’t a lot of trails to bike but it does have putt putt, a playground, outdoor pool, indoor hot tub(not functional while we were there).

It is located on a military base so access is limited to those with base access. The base is more of an industrial area with lots of traffic but some of the cabins sit back on the water so noise is not an issue.
GuideThis is a great campground that my family loves to visit. It is close to Virginia Beach so there is no excuse not to get away. You can rent a boat or swim in the pool and even enjoy the paddleboats. there is a waterpark and a little country store. I have had friends that rent their cabins or bring an RV, as well as pitch a tent. Lets goncamping!
TravelerNew to this site! Had a great time staying here, very peaceful and quiet, stayed in a cabin for one full week, plenty of exploring to do with the dogs. Toured the mansion and also Bacon’s Castle which is not far away, and road on the Ferry visiting Williamsburg. Definitely a great place to camp and get away for awhile!

GuideCherrystone is located right on the Chesapeake Bay, which provides campers with lots of water activities (swimming, clamming, crabbing, kayaking, fishing, boating, etc). During the summer, this place is packed. They offer tent sites, partial amenity sites, pull-through, and full hookup in addition to rustic cabins and fully-equipped cottages. There are five pools (including one for adults-only), miniature golf, hayrides, playgrounds, golf cart rentals, a snack bar, a game room and an entertainment pavilion. Cons: bathrooms get a LOT of use, are pretty far from tent sites, and seem to be difficult to keep clean. Flooding is also an issue during/after a healthy rain. These cons can be forgiven after viewing one fabulous sunset, however.
