    Longhorn RV Resort

Nice place, but a bit pricey

Overall I like this park. It's away from the interstates and expressway, but close enough to run and get supplies whenever you need. It is a bit noisy, but nothing too bad. My only real gripe is that the septic connection at my spot is at the same height as my RV connection - no matter what I do, I can't get it to have a slope. Most sites are better, but the connection at all of them is raised up about 6". The other thing I'm not happy about is the price ($250 a week). It's a bit steep, but it is a gated area (resort is a bit of stretch). There are a lot of long-term/permanent guests here, and they do make the place look unkempt. I still give it 4 stars, but they need to clean it up a bit. I've stayed in real RV resorts, and for the same money, I've seen better.

    Summit Vacation Resort

    Texas Camping at its finest

We loved the quiet and peace of this RV Resort nestled in Texas Hill Country.

The Park: they have a large pool area with cafe and snacks. The property is large and spaces are spread out through out the park. The big draw is the Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, and the woods and hills.

They have hot shoes, bath houses, laundry.

The sites: Gravel and mostly level, very few sites were unlevel. You’re surrounded by hills so it is nice and quiet. They are full hook up sites. Each site had a fire ring and picnic table. Small deer herds would move through the park each evening. Many of the campers feed them corn and they know the sounds and come running out of the hills.

The campground is near grocery and hardware stores. Within an hour are several bigger towns with more stores.

Cellular: T-Mobile was decent but not great. They do have Campground WiFi that worked faster.

    Nice overnight stay

We found this RV park a great overnight stop while traveling I-10. Many long termers, but they stayed to themselves. Plenty of room for big rigs. Road noise from highway, but not a negative for us. Sites are gravel/rock with grassy areas adjacent. Not perfectly level, but we wiggled the trailer around a bit in the spot until we got close. Full hookups. Laundry onsite, though we didn’t use. Looked clean. Bathroom is an odd layout with no doors separating stalls or toilet - curtains only. They were perfectly functional and clean though. Good value!

    McKinney Falls State Park Campground

    Perfect Austin basecamp

Why we booked: We wanted to check out Austin and prefer park campgrounds to RV resorts in general. Having hookups meant we could take our time and stay awhile, especially at the price.

Campground: A well-maintained campground with a mix of nomads, retirees, and families. Just about what you'd expect from a solid state park campground.

Quirks: Late check-in can be a bit tricky. Solar might not always be easy. I've heard the park gets mobbed by day-use in the summer.

Site: 20 in the Big Oak loop was just right for us. Lots of Carolina Wrens! Easy in and out with our 27' travel trailer and F250.

Nearby: Hiking trails, the Lower Falls, and the Onion River are all nearby. It's not super feasible to bike, as you're out a ways from most amenities, but car access to pretty much anything you need.

    Value: Unbeatable.

    Splashway Campground Review

This is a great campground with lots to do. It is awesome like geometry dash lite. We camped: the camp pitch was fairly level with electric hookup, water supply close to the tent and a fire pit for each pitch. There are also RV hookups as well. My kids totally enjoyed the laser tag, there is also a boating pond, fishing and live music on a Saturday night. The toilet block was the cleanest I have ever seen on a campsite- it was as clean as many hotels I have stayed in. One good advice for anyone staying in a campsite in Texas: compared to campsites in more temperate climes, Texas campsites are dusty and have as much dirt as grass on the pitches(and this site is no exception). Bring a tarp to put under your tent- it will be a lot easier to clean than the bottom of a sewn-in groundsheet when you get home.

    Canopy Luxury RV Resort

Luxury RV Park worth the price.

Honestly, the price wasn't too bad. Gated community with concierge service to your site. Most sites had some degree of shade and a decent amount of privacy. The pool and shower facilities are very nice and clean. The 2 dog parks (split into 2 sections each for small and large...so 4 dog parks) really helped keep our dogs entertained. Great rotation of food trucks and activities for kids. 100% recommended for a RV Resort stay.

First time at Iron Horse RV resort, won't be our last!  The grounds are clean and the spaces are wide.  They have a beautiful pavilion and a lazy river.  Saturday night (for the Labor Day weekend) they brought in a band - they were wonderful.  There is a cute boutique on site with adorable clothes, boots and accessories.  Don't miss that!  We had a medical emergency that forced us to leave the RV an additional night and they worked with us and checked in with us just like FAMILY.

    Lake Bastrop North Shore Park

Lake Bastrop + Amenities + Peace

Lake Bastrop North Shore Park Park is managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority. There’s a office at the entrance were one can pay your admission fee. Or if you arrive late, there is a self paying station that’s available 24 hours 7 days a week. At the small office one may buy ice, drinks and souveniers.

This campground has a number of sites for RVs with full hook ups. There is a sewage dump station in the center of the park. Also, there are traditional car camping spots with drive up parking spaces, picnic tables, fire rings, grills and water and electrical hook-ups. There are restroom facilities are scattered throughout the park. At the far end of the park there are campgrounds for primitive camping. These have more basic amenities - there is an open space, community fire pit, community grill and some picnic tables.

Not too far from the primitive campground there is a trail that leads to a nice view of Lake Bastrop. There’s also a community space in the center of the park which has, picnic tables, a fishing pier, open water access and an area that is roped off for swimming.

This park is distinguished from the Lake Bastrop South Shore Park because it tends to attract campers with more basic needs. I would say that there are fewer families, less crowds and more peace and quiet.

I found the staff to be nice and friendly.

    Wonderful for an overnight stay!

Stayed here one night- Memorial Day Evening- as we were making our way thru Texas. Liz at check-in was super friendly and helpful. We stayed on site D4. FHU. Level. WiFi was the best yet! No issues with this campsite. Trees stringed with lights for nice ambience. Road traffic noise did not bother us. There was a nice off leash dog area. However, they had received a lot of rain and it was too muddy for us to use this trip. I would recommend this RV park! We camped at Whispering Oaks RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful and huge camp ground with lots of nature to admire. The camp sites are spacious and feel very private, yet you don't feel alone with other campers nearby you. Camp Landa Resort

Brand new resort with awesome amenities and enthusiastic owners and staff.

We were lucky enough to discover this RV park/resort on The Dyrt app the first weekend it was open, during a busy time (the April 8 Eclipse) when many other places were full. As it turned out, this was our favorite RV park during our 10-day trip in a rental RV for several reasons. First, the pool! As you can hopefully see  from my pictures, this place has an incredible pool for almost any place, but especially for an RV park. It's heated, has plenty of seating, and there's a swim-up bar under the canopy. Second, it's brand new and they've thought of almost everything I'd want/need in an RV park. I know it might be RV specific, but one little thing I noticed that speaks to their attention to detail was the layout and spacing of the hookups. In  many places we stayed, the clean-water spigot would be in a place where my hose had to cross the sewer hose and/or the electrical cord. Here, things were spaced out and in the order I needed so as not to have to cross anything. Third, all the available amenities were in great condition and seemed very spacious--the bathrooms and showers are clean and huge, the laundry facility, when finished, looks like it'll be much bigger than anything else we saw on our trip, and the clubhouse/office/restaurant was also spotless and could seat dozens at a time. Finally, the owners/operators were always on site and available to answer questions and did things like invite everyone to the firepit for s'mores each evening (I don't imagine that will go on indefinitely, but it was a nice way to meet everyone else at the park when it was just opening). Would definitely recommend this place without hesitation.

    River Road Camp

River Road Camp + The River

This is a very small family operated campground. It offers basic RV and tent camping facilities and services. There are full hookup sites for RVs. There are tent camping sites with water and electrical hookups.

The main feature of this campground is that a number of the sites are right along the banks of the Guadalupe River. There is a little sidewalk and stairs that lead down to the water which makes it easy for families and kids of all ages to access the river.

During the winter, it is easy to reserves sites at this campground. During the summer, it is wise to reserve a site in advance. Any of the RV sites 1 to 30 are right along the river. Any of the tent sites 1 to 9 are along the river.

The campground does allow day access for $7/person.

The campground is located about 15 minutes from the town of New Braunfels where you can find grocery stores, restaurants, banks, hardware stores and other entertainment. If you're looking for Texas BBQ, check out the Rudy's or Cooper's BBQ in New Braunfels. Also located within the town is the Schlitterbahn Waterpark which is I believe the largest waterpark in the US and has an incredible amout of fun rides, slides and pools. It's a bit pricey, but it is a full day of fun for the family.

    Landa RV Park & Campground

The Landa RV Campground + The Comal River + Floating + Fishing = Good Times

During the summer, Texans flock to the rivers and lakes to enjoy the outdoors and keep cool. Near the town of New Braunfels there are a number of RV parks and campgrounds that can accommodate just about any need.

In the town of New Braunfels there is an HEB grocery store and Buc-ee's gas station to stock up on any supplies. If you've never stopped at a Buc-ee's gas station you should. Buc-ee's is a mega gas station, convenience store and road side attraction all in one. Their bathrooms are always super clean.

I was on a little fishing trip and decided to check out a few campgrounds in the area.

Landa RV park is a solid choice. The staff are super friendly and while it is a small campground, they offer nice amenities. At the entrance of the park there’s a admission office and small store. All the campsites have drive-up parking spaces, electricity, water and the picnic tables. There are some campsites that are located right along the river. I think site #506 is one of the best sties. There is a little premium on the price, but it is well worth it for quick access to the river. RVs are allowed to park at the camping sites along the river. However, there is also a designated RV lot with complete hook ups. There is a community space with some picnic tables. The restroom facilities are located near the RV lot. The facilities are modern and clean with flush toilets and shower stalls. They even have a laundry room on site. Next to the campground there are facilities to rent tubes if you want to float down the river. I actually came to this area to fly fish and I caught a number of small panfish. There are also bass and trout in the river.

Whether your visiting to fish, float or just relax this campground is a relaxing place to visit.

    Bastrop State Park Campground

    Disappointed

I’ve lived in Austin for over 20 years and camped at a lot of state parks in that time.  I’ve never camped here because it’s so close to my house I never bothered. I ended up booking because all my favorite parks were already booked up. The best part of my stay was the clean bathrooms and full hook ups. My site was very small and full of stickers. Everytime the dogs went out to pee they tracked in stickers. I must have pulled 25 or more out of my feet and theirs! Absolutely no trees for shade either so aside from hiking a few trails, we were banished inside the RV. The map had shown some bikes trails but I found out they were from the old golf course and fires had wiped out all the trees. This was all just very depressing.  In my opinion, this park is only good for an occasional overnight stay on your way somewhere else.

Also, the best campsites by the creek were all closed.

    Summit Vacation Resort

    Great campground

We’ve stayed here 3 times now and each experience has been amazing! It’s quiet, lots of things for the kids to do like swimming, miniature golf, basketball, tennis, etc. The views are really pretty since the RV park is down in a valley. Sites are relatively level & gravel.

Rio Guadalupe Resort & RV Park

    Excellent view of the River

This was our first time camping here. Check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Restrooms were in excellent condition and clean. WiFi was awesome. You have to take a short walk from your camp site to the River, but the River view and access was awesome. Pool was very clean. The overall campground was good. The only downside I found was the guest that seem to camp there permanently. All of there possessions piled up around there RV make you feel a bit like you are in a trailer park rather than an RV park. Once we got past that we had a great time. We will definitely go back.

The Guadalupe at Cuero RV Park

    Conveniently located on the water

Jake from the Dyrt here!  Less than a mile off the highway, this RV Park feels further as it rests along the Guadalupe's slow moving water.  Check them out and share your experience on the Dyrt!

    Lake Wood Recreation Area

Quite campground on the Guadalupe River

Great spot to get away and camp. $25 for tent camping with water and electricity. Also has hookups for RVs. The dam failed a few years back so the lake is no longer there but the river is great for fishing and some swimming. Lots of shade from old pecan trees and soft grass for comfortable tent placement. All sites have a fire ring and picnic tables.

    Lockhart State Park Campground

    NiSmall Park on Golf Course

We stayed here for a 2 day travel stop. Clean, well maintained park with only 10 full hookup sites and 10 water/electric sites. Full hookup sites back up to a golf course. One bath house that is very clean. Our site was perfectly level. All sites have a covered picnic table and asphalt parking pads. There is some shade at nearly every site. Verizon signal is weak and non existent on the trails. We got around 60 hdtv channels with excellent signal. The sites are very close together and there is no privacy. That’s the reason I give this place only 3 stars.
