Best RV Parks & Resorts near Andrews, SC

Several RV parks dot the landscape surrounding Andrews, South Carolina, offering a range of amenities for motorhome travelers. Hideaway RV Park provides full hookups with both 30 and 50 amp electrical service on concrete pads that accommodate larger rigs. Just 20 miles east, Bucksport RV Resort and Marina operates year-round with big-rig friendly sites featuring water, sewer, and electric connections. Big Cypress Lake RV Park and Fishing Retreat caters to RV campers with waterfront sites that can handle even the largest motorhomes, providing 50 amp service for an additional $10 daily fee. "The park can handle even the largest RVs and most of the sites are right on the waterfront," notes one reviewer who appreciated the spacious layout. Hill's Landing & RV Park maintains 60 sites with full hookups, though picnic tables are not provided at each site.

Seasonal considerations affect availability at RV campgrounds throughout the region. While Bucksport RV Resort operates year-round, some parks have limited availability during peak tourist seasons. Cell service varies between locations, with most parks offering adequate coverage for basic needs. Dump stations are available at Hideaway RV Park and Williamson RV & Mobile Home Park, though Hill's Landing does not provide this service. Pet owners should note that all major RV parks in the area allow pets, typically requiring them to be leashed. Many parks offer trash pickup directly from sites, and some provide on-site propane refill services. Pull-through sites are limited at smaller parks but more common at larger resorts like Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach, which features 800 sites about 40 minutes northeast of Andrews. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, particularly for weekend stays and during the busy summer months.

    Ocean Lakes Family Campground

    Nice beachside campground

One big campground with a lot of amenities. Nice people. Good size sites with concret pads and patio that accommodate larger rigs but the roads between the sites can be tight. Kid and pet friendly. Wish it had a dog park. Very large camp store, large laundry facility and water park. Very fairly price considering the he amenities. We’ll be back.

    Huntington Beach State Park Campground

    Awesome campground!

Absolutely beautiful park. Well maintained facilities and lots to do. Within easy walking distance were hiking trails, Atalayah'castle'(great tour), nature center and estuary walk, gift shop/ visitors center, lots of hiking trails, and the beach! We walked everywhere but bikes would be awesome. We were in site 113 on the back loop- those sites(back loop) were super private and very well spaced out for privacy- the most private sites I've ever seen at a state park. Wifi was good near the bathrooms, but not at our site, so if you need wifi go towards the bathrooms. We camped at Huntington Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

Quiet wooded park on the beach, but so close to Myrtle Beach!

This State Park is in one of the best locations we’ve seen. Nestled in a huge wooded setting, set back from the beach. It doesn’t feel like you are just 15min from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle beach. There is a bike track for easy access to the shopping complex across from the entrance to the State Park. Its 15min from Murrels Inlet(great seafood places!)

The State Park has its own fishing pier and you can walk to Mtryle using the beach! There is an entrance fee for visitors to the Park which keeps traffic down (fee not payable if camping). It is also gated from 10pm to 6am.

Most sites have some privacy between them. Half the sites are full hookup, the other having electric and water. Most sites can fit a travel trailer or larger, with a few sites towards the front of the park reserved for tents (or tiny trailers only). The amenities although older, are clean. Decent size laundry which takes $2 of quarters. Cell service (Sprint) was ok, however the parks WIFI is poor, especially toward the back of the park, do not rely on it. Even in the off season(December) they said it was also due to so many people using it.

Fire rings and picnic tables at each site. Firewood for sale at the camp store for $15 a bundle. Summer it wouldn't work at all. Will definitely stay again.

    Ocean Lakes Family Campground

    Convenient and Great Amenities

We just finished our stay at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. We enjoyed it and will return.

Cons: no shade, sites really tight, a lot of golf carts zooming around, internet flakey - if you could stay connected it was good, site not level

Pros: right on the beach, a ton of amenities - including potable water, affordable for being on the beach with full hookup (e,w,s,c,i), concrete pad available, super easy to get to (it has its own intersection redlight).

*picture from our site to show distance to ocean - less than 100 steps. Site #2073

    Mount Pleasant-Charleston KOA

    Awesome campground

This is a fantastic campground. The staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well maintained. There are activities offered including a wagon ride through a plantation. There is a pool. They offer bike rental, along with kayak/paddle boat rentals. There’s a great dog park our pups loved. We paid a little extra for a deluxe site with full hookups and a lake view. The deluxe site also had a concrete pad, brick fire pit, and a swing. It was a shady spot with big oak trees. There is a nice camp store. The location of this campground is perfect near stores, restaurants, and not far from the beach.

    Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

Level Secluded Sites, Well Manicured Park, Friendly Staff

We'd never been to South Carolina before and had no idea what to expect. We were thoroughly smitten with the coast and the city of Myrtle Beach, but we really loved camping in the state park. Everything was clean, manicured, raked, and private. You can see your neighbor's camper, but usually behind some trees. We now understand the words"Carolina pines" better. They are tall, straight as an arrow, and beautiful. There are millions of them in this park. Our site was level with easy access. It was long enough for our truck and fifth wheel. It was surprising how secluded everything was, yet the city is really closeby. People were friendly. There was a bunch of kids riding bikes, having fun. Lots of parents enjoying cooking out with friends. The park was super quiet at night though. All of the staff seemed cheerful and like they enjoy their jobs. Every camper seemed good about picking up after their dogs, which was really nice. We haven't found that everywhere. The only negative I would give this place is that arrival is a bit confusing, especially with a big rig. It wasn't real clear how far back in the woods we were going to go before we came upon the check-in building. Then, it wasn't real clear that we needed to go around the circle of the little parking lot in order to come up alongside the check-in building. Luckily, we did it right, but there needs to be more signage out there spelling it out in detail along the way. When you're pulling a 40'+ fifth wheel with a big truck, you can't just turn around anywhere. We were afraid we were going the wrong way a couple of times. That can be anxiety-inducing.

    Mount Pleasant-Charleston KOA

    Beautiful, well-kept, campground.

Good location and quiet even though it sits right near Hwy 17 in a busy section of the city. Huge catch-and-release lake for fishing. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. Weak WiFi signal, but they will loan you a modem at no extra charge to connect to the Ethernet at the power post which is connected to a site-wide fiber optic network. It sits on a historic plantation that is only accessible by KOA guests with hay rides Monday through Thursday. Full hook-up with propane refill and dump station. Very near Wal-mart and Lowe's for shopping, among other stores. I recommend this KOA.

    Pirateland Family Camping Resort

    Fun beach party campground!

If you like party vibes, making friends with your neighbors, and staying up late for a drink, this campground rules.

We had a basic inland site with full hookups and a picnic table. The area where inland sites are located has a bunch of trees, we loved the shade and it was perfect for our 22 ft trailer, but I can see a big rig having some trouble navigating.

There’s a pool and a lazy river for when you want to switch it up from the beach, and a general store with camper equipment, souvenirs, and stocked with a lot of things you may have forgotten at home. Decent prices too, not slammin’ deals but didn’t feel like there was a huge mark up on anything. Though we have a shower/toilet in our trailer, the bath houses were a clean and air conditioned alternative. They all had outdoor showers and foot rinsing stations, which were super convenient when cleaning up after the beach.

The beach was beautiful, shallows for a couple hundred yards when the tide was out, and relatively clean for a busy beach. We brought our dog with us, so we could take him to the beach before 10AM and after 5PM. You’re supposed to have them on a leash all of the time, but we found a spot devoid of others and we’re able to let him go to play frisbee in the water. Very dog friendly campground, by the way.

Overall, we loved our time there and are even planning on coming back next year! Again, an awesome campground for outgoing folks looking for a beach party vibe. I would steer clear if you’re looking for something quiet and private.

Located in Georgetown County, this area features a combination of wooded terrain and water access points along the Intracoastal Waterway and nearby lakes. Summer temperatures typically reach 90°F with high humidity, while winters remain mild with occasional frost.

What to do

Fishing the waterways: Hideaway RV Park provides direct access to the Intracoastal Waterway with a dedicated fishing pier. "Right on the Intercoastal waterway! Great spaces with plenty of room," writes reviewer Alan, who appreciates the waterfront access.

Water recreation: Multiple campgrounds offer water-based activities beyond just fishing. At Johnston Landing Campground & Cabins, guests can rent various watercraft. "The good people here at Johnston Landing have you covered as they offer a paddle boat, kayaks and a row boat for rent," notes reviewer Stuart K.

Hiking nearby trails: For campers seeking land-based activities, the area offers notable hiking opportunities. "One of the best hikes in all of South Carolina—the Palmetto Trial is just about 5 miles away, but is definitely worth the hike as here you'll be able to witness first hand the sunken giant Cypress trees," explains Stuart K., detailing the unique natural features accessible from Johnston Landing.

What campers like

Private fishing lakes: Big Cypress Lake RV Park and Fishing Retreat offers a unique experience with exclusive fishing access. Kevin G. notes, "There is a picnic area by the water, along with 2 docks you can fish from. A large grassy area is available for pets (must be leashed)."

Wildlife viewing: Campers at RV parks near Andrews often mention wildlife encounters as highlights. "A little off the beaten path, but well worth the effort. The last time I was here (4 days ago) 2 does & a fawn came lopping/walking through the property," reports Mark B. about RV's Acres.

Clean facilities: Campers consistently mention the well-maintained grounds at various parks. Swimming access: Not all campgrounds provide swimming areas. At Bucksport RV Resort and Marina, Briggs B. advises, "There is a fishing dock but not really anywhere to swim unless you have a boat. A beach or somewhere to jump in the river would make this place much better."

Big rig accommodation: Most parks can handle larger RVs, though some have limitations. Kevin G. says about Big Cypress Lake RV Park, "The park can handle even the largest RVs and most of the sites are right on the waterfront."

Extra fees: Be aware of additional charges beyond base rates. At Big Cypress Lake RV Park, there's a "$10.00/DAILY [charge for] Big Rigs or 50 AMP" service, according to Kevin G.'s review.

Road conditions: Access roads can become problematic in wet weather. One reviewer cautions about Hidden Marina, "The road in and out of the park is 3/4 of a mile long and dirt so when it rains it becomes awful to drive on due to holes."
