Best RV Parks & Resorts near Pacific City, OR

Pacific City features several year-round RV parks that cater specifically to motorhomes and travel trailers. Cape Kiwanda RV Resort and Marketplace in Pacific City proper offers full hookup sites with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. Sites are paved with concrete pads for level parking. "The RV resort itself is small and have narrow sites. But the store is fantastic, being across from Pelican and a short stroll to the beach," notes one camper. Thousand Trails Pacific City, located on Sandlake Road in Cloverdale, accommodates big rigs with water and electric hookups, though site spacing can be tight during peak seasons. About 14 miles north, Netarts Bay RV Park and Marina provides full-service sites with 50-amp hookups on cement pads, particularly appealing to those seeking waterfront proximity.

Reservations are essential during summer months when coastal RV parks reach capacity quickly. Most Pacific City area RV resorts maintain sanitary dump stations, with Premier RV Resort in Lincoln City featuring particularly clean facilities according to visitor reviews. Cell service varies considerably throughout the region, with limited connectivity at Thousand Trails Pacific City. For RV travelers with pets, most parks in the area permit animals with standard restrictions. Winter camping remains available, though fewer amenities may be operational during off-season periods. RV sites typically include picnic tables and fire rings where permitted, with firewood available for purchase at most locations. Grocery access is convenient at Cape Kiwanda's marketplace, while more substantial provisioning requires a drive to Tillamook.

    Cannon Beach RV Resort

    Walk to Haystack Rock

Just east of Hwy 101 in Cannon Beach, this RV resort is an easy (really!) 10 minute walk to the beach, just north of Haystack Rock. A sidewalk underpass under 101 and a path through a small city park makes it a family-friendly, dog-friendly walk to the outstanding beach sunsets. A bit longer walk (or easy bike ride) takes you into the heart of Cannon Beach with all the restaurants, ice cream shops, galleries, coffee shops and candy stores. Campground is open year round, has full hook-ups, good wifi, well managed and maintained, has an indoor pool and hot tub (pool facility was closed during covid, check on availability) decent bath houses (also closed during covid), nice sites with lots of tall trees. They also sell propane, firewood and have a gas station. (And they even have an electric car charging station, if you need it) Fun fact: In the winter months you will likely see the local elk herd around town. Note: no tents allowed and our ATT service only has one bar at our site. Would definitely recommend this place for RV camping.

    Premier RV Resort

    Good Base Camp

Our stay at the Lincoln City Premier RV Resort was good.  The space was clean and the utility hookups were well maintained and functional.  And, staff were very nice and accommodating.  We upgraded to a pull through and in hindsight should not have.  It was close to the road, and many of the trailers in the pull through section appeared to be long term occupants, at least a couple left early in the morning for work and returned in the afternoon.  The location although easy to get both north and south from because it is adjacent to the highway, was in a part of town that seemed a little economically depressed.  I would have rated it higher but for the price, I expected more.  UPDATE  We visited this park for a second time in 2023 and selected a back in site near the north east section of the park and loved it.  We are changing our rating to five stars.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

    Cannon Beach RV Resort

Perfect spot to camp with an indoor pool

Close to town biking or walking. Nice well kept grounds. Cable tv hookups WiFi (although not very robust) Ethernet jacks at power posts, so you could make your own WiFi I guess. Great spot for camping and working. Nice friendly staff. It has the only gas station in town also has air and propane stations.

Port of Newport RV Park & Marina

    Pricey for parking lot camping!

This place offers a regular RV park for something around $80/night, or dry camping for about $40/night. The dry camping area is literally a parking lot, but you have a nice view of the marina and also it’s really nice to be this close to town so we stayed here for a night. You’re sharing a parking lot with Rogue brewery and distillery, which is very cool. You’re also walking distance to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, also very cool. The town of Newport is cute and fun and there are many interesting and cool shops to browse, and many of them are dog friendly.

We didn’t use any of the amenities here, but we were told there is wifi and showers. There were dumpsters (no recycling), and a free dump station for campers. There was non-potable water at the dump station, but I am sure they would also let you fill your tanks with potable water.

    Cannon Beach RV Resort

    Elk Bugles and Chuckles

Tucked away in the trees of Cannon Beach is this nice little RV Resort. All amenities were top notch for your needs at a park. The Elk greeted us and were eating all the flowers as we entered. Gas station, propane, laundry, showers, convenience store, pool and two shower/restroom facilities. Paved parking spots with fire pit, picnic tables and full hookup.

    Seal Rocks RV Cove

    It's All About the View

This was our second time here, and we enjoyed the first so much we decided to spend a month over Christmas to watch storms and hopefully see the whale migration. As Seal Rocks RV Cove is right off US-101, you take the second left at the sign if you are coming from the south. Per our instruction email, we headed straight to back-in site 18 with FHUs. Since we were going to be here a month, we fiddled more than normal to position our 40’ 5th wheel into position. Otherwise, this is a fairly easy back-in. Most of the positioning was to get more center on the gravel pad because there are tall hedges on both sides. This is a nice privacy feature in most sites. The water pressure was around 60 psi, so we used a reducer. Water and electric are more centered on the site. Site 18 has a great view of Seal Rock and the ocean. Another great feature of these sites is that the utilities are on both sides for back-ins like us, and Class As and Bs can pull in forward. We needed about 15’ of sewer hose with the back-in connection. The $45 nightly rate was based on an off-season monthly rate, and we did not have to pay extra for electricity. We had one bar on Verizon, which was usable for phone calls. We got a clear shot of the NW sky for Starlink. There wouldn’t be a problem for a southern shot as well. There’s a fire pit and picnic table at the back of the site. There’s a small fenced dog park and a beach trail path that leads out of the RV park to Hwy 101 to get to the beach trail. The park WiFi was pretty good, but there were not many campers here this time of year. The park managers are friendly and accommodating, and they enforce their rules. Two in particular were dogs on six-foot leashes and no LED lights at night. We were lax with our dogs because the park was empty, but they quickly reminded us of the rule. As you are right off US-101, there is road noise, but it quiets down at night. Seal Rocks RV Cove doesn’t have a laundry, but there’s one nearby in Waldport and two in Newport. There is so much to do and see in this area. We spent a month and still didn’t get everything done we wanted to do."

    South Beach State Park Campground

Awesome Location, Great Walking/Bike Path, Great for Kids!

What a great spot. You can now book online. Great for families. You can easily walk to the beach. Awesome paths for walking or biking. I would tow the kids around in a bike cart and we could ride up and down the pathway, under the Newport Bridge (it's safe), to the Jetty and near Rogue Brewery!! Love this spot. Good public bathrooms, power and water hookups. Dump station there but no sewer at your camp site (only draw back), otherwise it is awesome!! The outer edges of the loops are better for bigger RVs, travel trailers.

Guide to Pacific City

RV camping near Pacific City, Oregon offers year-round options along the northern Oregon coast. The area experiences cool summers with average temperatures around 65°F and mild winters with frequent rainfall of 70-90 inches annually. Cell service varies considerably by location, with several campgrounds noting limited or no connectivity, particularly at forested sites away from main highways.

What to Do

Beach access trails: At Thousand Trails Pacific City, campers can enjoy direct beach access via convenient trails. "The beach access trail was perfectly located near our camp spot and another trail up near the lodge have amazing views of Cape Kiwanda," notes one visitor.

Sandboarding at Cape Kiwanda: The dunes near Pacific City offer popular sandboarding opportunities. "You can rent sandboards to ride down the dunes of Cape Kiwanda (it's a serious workout!)," mentions a camper who visited the area.

Crabbing and fishing: Netarts Bay RV Park & Marina provides equipment for water activities. "There are boats to rent for crabbing and clamming and shellfish licenses for sale," according to a reviewer who appreciated the marine amenities.

What Campers Like

Indoor pools and hot tubs: Several RV parks offer year-round swimming options. "They have a large jacuzzi and an indoor pool!" shares a visitor to Thousand Trails Pacific City, making it suitable for off-season stays when beach weather isn't ideal.

Wildlife viewing: The area's campgrounds host abundant wildlife. At Cape Kiwanda RV Resort and Marketplace, "the campground had cute wild bunnies hoping around, and amenities such as a playground, full market, and pool."

Dory boat watching: Visitors enjoy observing the traditional fishing vessels. "We love walking across the road to the Pelican Brewery and watching the dories being launched and coming in for the day," notes a long-time visitor to Cape Kiwanda RV Resort.

What You Should Know

Site spacing considerations: Many parks have tightly arranged sites. At Premier RV Resort in Lincoln City, "Although the sites are very tight and close to each other, this park offers all the amenities you need."

Internet connectivity challenges: Reliable internet access varies by location. "This year though, we have absolutely no cell service at the campground and the Free Wifi has been non-existent. But we found a nice little library in town that has free WiFi for when we need to get some work done!" reports a Thousand Trails Pacific City guest.

Reservation requirements: Summer availability is limited, particularly for oceanfront sites. "We needed some RV repairs and rented a spot in Lincoln City at Premier to stay while getting them done... If you like quiet do not rent one of the spaces up front. The back of the park is much quieter and more treed."

Tips for Camping with Families

Child-friendly amenities: Look for campgrounds with dedicated play areas. Neskowin Creek RV Resort "had a bunch of activities for kids to do my daughter loved it," according to one family visitor.

Beach proximity: Several parks offer convenient ocean access for family outings. Thousand Trails Pacific City is "a nice quiet campground that is spread out. Bunnies are great to watch. Close to drive on beach which is nice when you have kids."

Indoor recreation options: For rainy days, seek campgrounds with covered facilities. "Kept clean, and stocked with games and things to do in clubhouse," mentions a camper who stayed at Thousand Trails with children.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Some parks require additional preparation. At Tillamook Bay City RV Park, "The sites are angled such that you're not looking in each others' windows," providing some visual separation despite close spacing.

Full hookup availability: Premium connections can be limited at certain parks. One visitor noted, "There are maybe 2 spots (that aren't full time residence) that have full hookups so if you show up late you definitely won't be getting one."

Television reception: Satellite TV access varies by location. "We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna," reports a full-time RVer who stayed in Tillamook.
