    Columbia River RV Park

    Nice place

Nice RV park, close enough to Portland to work for us. We don’t have a tow car so we relied on public transportation to get to downtown, which was great (though it is a 1 mile walk to the bus stop). There are many long-termers here, but due to their 10 or 15 year RV rule, all the RVs here were really nice and fancy. There’s a little area with a free table, a book exchange, some workout equipment, a kitchen, laundry, and showers. The laundry room had a designated pet washer and dryer, which I always love, so we washed all of our dog bedding here. Showers were really really nice, super hot, good pressure, clean, free. Staff was nice as well. Free wifi that worked pretty well. There’s a small neighborhood dog park right across the street.

    Albany-Corvallis KOA

    Tent camping

Well we did not know that when tent camping you can only stay two weeks we were originally told we could stay as long as we wanted as long as we moved and did not stay in a spot more than 7 days. Not a bad campground just don't like the two week stay rule. Plus my cat loves it. There is a natural that can be walked, a dog park, swimming pool, also a place to throw disc golf disc's.

    Albany-Corvallis KOA

Month Long Stay at Corvallis KOA

Spent a month in an RV space at this KOA. My first experience at a KOA couldn’t have gone better. Staff was friendly, facilities were clean, and fellow RVers were quiet and respectful. We stayed here with a dog and were really happy with amenities such as the dog park and small trail behind campground. Really phenomenal and kind workers as well. Would stay again. We stayed during the wet season, and it was not very busy here. We did have some issues with moisture in RV, would definitely recommend having a dehumidifier. Showers and bathrooms cleaned daily and were very clean always. There is also a nice laundry facility (coin operated) and sink for washing dishes. Two bathrooms and a dog park. Electric hookups, black water dump, and water hookup at site.

    Waterloo County Park

It’s good for family and during fishing.

It’s dog friendly with a dog park. During the week is better just because of younger groups who like loud music and some late nights.

    Marion Forks Campground

    Campground behind the fish hatchery

This campground is tucked behind the Marion Forks fish hatchery. There are educational signs, short hikes, and access to water near the campground. The bathrooms are clean on site. Keep pets on leash and away from the road (hwy 22) and fish hatchery. This can be a fun site for kids and sometimes the staff will give you a tour. No cell service here!!!

    Waterloo County Park

    Waterloo County Campground

Great campground with hookups and active camp host. Firewood available onsite. Nicest restrooms and showers I’ve seen in any campground! The A Loop is more for smaller campers while the B Loop is better suited for the big rigs. Lots of activities including hiking, geocaching? Fisk golf, volleyball, fishing, swimming, and children’s playground and dog park. ADA handicapped accessible campsites available.

River access: Pets can cool off at John Neal Memorial Park, where river access provides relief during summer heat. "This was a last minute choice since I didn't realize Shellburg Falls Rec area was closed still. I got a spot right on the Santiam River," writes Heidi M. What you should know

Pet restrictions: Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort maintains breed-specific restrictions. "The website says pet friendly, however that means only little yippers, and labradoodles & Shih Tzus. Pretty much all large breed dogs are not welcome. And they very much enforce it!" warns Elizabeth G. Always call ahead to confirm current pet policies.

Educational opportunities: Several campgrounds feature nature programs that welcome leashed pets. "Not very good access to the river here, not the place to try and cool down, but a lot to see and do anyway. The farmhouse fascinated my boys... they got to water the garden with a water pump and buckets!" shares Leslie C. about the heritage area.

Tips from RVers

Site size limitations: Silver Spur RV Park & Resort accommodates pets but has compact spaces. "Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay," reports Andy B. Most sites accommodate rigs up to 35 feet when traveling with pets.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some pet-friendly campsites. "While the park is nice and well maintained, the B lot backs right up to the highway with unbearable road noise," warns Scott S. Request interior sites when traveling with noise-sensitive animals.

Hookup access: Many Silverton-area campgrounds offer partial hookups suitable for RVs. "We have been staying here full time since October 2021 and will be moving on in about a month or so.
