Free easy camping

We decided to stay here on our journey because of the great reviews. It’s not bad… it seems most of the reviews are local , and going by that it is a 5 star spot… it’s an army core of engineers man made damn lake that was built in 53 . Lots of great pads for tent and medium rvs. It’s a bit of a…

Floater Boater 2021

Stayed for 3 days and 2 nights with a float trip on day 2. The rafts worked great for our group and we had some that brought their own kayaks as well. All in all it was a great experience and we intend to go back again for round 2 sometime in the fall. Restroom facilities were in somewhat disrepair…

Beautiful and Clean

This is probably our favorite campground so far. The sites are spacious and clean. The water spigots are insulated for colder weather camping. There are several hiking trails with varying levels of difficulty. There are several beautiful falls along Lee Creek.

We didn’t make it to the pool but…

Perfect minus the bugs

Devil’s Den is an oasis of trails and amenities. We hiked their awesome namesake trail in about an hour—Interesting paved stairs and pathways lead you to lovely little spots and views including a trio of hidden waterfalls. Bathrooms and sites are roomy at campsite A. BUT STAY ALERT: We had many…

Not as nice as parks out West

Not as nice as other parks along our i40 route from CA to GA, but hospitality was great and appreciated the kindness of the folks who manage this property. Little sketchy of the red/brown lake water to swim in and the bugs are massive compared to the desert. Lol but we loved the lush forests,…

Lake Views

This campground is a Corps of Engineers campground. As you drive in you are greeted by a toll booth building where you can either pick up your car tag or the attendant can give you a map with open sites. You must book the sites online through the recreation.gov website. The gates to this campground…

A nice park overall

We’ve camped at Tenkiller State Park once before and stayed in Shady Grove (rv area). This time we camped in Blue Jay on top of the hill. There was an issue with the power on the side of the loop we were on and we were not informed before we got there. They did offer to let us stay and refund our…

First Solo Camping Trip

Sequoyah State Park is just beautiful. I stayed in Paradise Cove in a tent site quite literally right on the water since this part of Oklahoma is experiencing flooding right now. There are flush toilets in this part of the park, but there are showers in others. There’s a short hiking trail, it’s…

Just love it.

I personally have been camping here since I was a child. Now we bring grandkids with us. We love it here for a quick weekend or a week.

Nice campground with lots to keep the kids busy

Lots to keep the kids busy, we had a really good time. Campsites are pretty close together though so we didn’t have the space or privacy we like but I know we will go back.

Had a Great time!

We stayed there in November of 2020. We had the place to ourselves and it was really nice. Unfortunately, we were told that we had full hook up and showers but there was nothing available, but we made the best of it. It’s a beautiful campground near a huge body of water with lots of trees and…

Arkansas camping at it's best

There are some good reviews here so I will just add a few extra notes.  First and foremost if you are travelling on I 49 and your camper is longer than 25' it is highly recommended that you take exit 53 (170) exit.  There are fewer tight turns for maneuvering big rigs.  Second we camped in…
