Easy pull through sites. Friendly staff. Will definitely stay again next time we are up that way."

RV travelers should note that many campgrounds in the Niagara region close seasonally between late October and April. The proximity to Niagara Falls affects pricing, with sites averaging $69-76 per night at facilities nearest the attraction. Dump stations are available at all major RV parks, though some smaller facilities may have limited availability. According to one visitor, "The sites are decent size, the bathrooms are clean but spiders will hang out. Showers are hot. Sites are available with electric and there is an RV dump station if you have one." Pet policies vary between parks, with most allowing dogs with proper vaccination documentation. Between Grand Island and Youngstown, several RV parks provide convenient bases for exploring both the Falls and Lake Ontario shoreline.

    Evangola State Park Campground

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

    Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

    Good location

This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened. So far this isn’t bad could be better/ cleaner.

It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn’t suck.

The site are paved level back ins and pull throughs

The staff was nice enough. Haven’t had much interaction with him.

There is a great Italian store right across the street and Niagara Falls down the road. I would stay here in a pinch again

    Niagara County Camping Resort

    Niagra County Camping Resort

Arrived late at night to this established site. This is a mixed accommodation campground with established long term residents & short term sites.

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Guide to Youngstown

Niagara County offers campers staying near Youngstown, New York convenient access to both Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario. Most campgrounds in this region operate on gravel sites with varying degrees of shade and privacy between camping spots. Summer temperatures typically range from 65-85°F with higher humidity levels near the water bodies, while spring and fall camping seasons experience cooler 45-65°F temperatures and occasional rainfall.

What to do

Explore Lewiston: Just minutes from Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA, the historic village of Lewiston offers dining and cultural attractions. "This campground is very small... The location is good, very close to Lewiston, Niagara Falls, and Canada," notes Karen P.

Visit Fort Niagara: The 18th-century fort at the mouth of the Niagara River provides historical tours daily from 9am-5pm with admission fees around $15 for adults. "The location is great for visiting Niagara Falls," confirms Santiago O., who stayed at Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA.

Golf at resort courses: Some campgrounds integrate with golf facilities for discounted tee times. "This spot is all right, but it's not really the vibe for weekend campers. It's definitely more of a 'locals only' kind of feel as it is a country club and golf resort primarily," explains Mariah G. about Hickory Ridge Golf & RV Resort.

What campers like

Pool amenities: Many campers appreciate swimming options during summer months. "Pool near camp store. Friendly staff," writes Krista F. about her stay at Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA, while another camper mentions, "The pool looked decent although we didn't use it."

Proximity to attractions: Niagara Falls Grand Island KOA Holiday provides excellent access to regional attractions. "Nice campground with many amenities. Typical KOA. You can schedule tours of the falls in the office. Tour bus stops at office. Restaurants nearby," reports Mike H.

Clean facilities: Well-maintained bathroom facilities matter to many campers. "The bathroom stall doors are so warped they won't close," notes one reviewer at Niagara Woodland Campground, highlighting the importance of this amenity, while another mentions, "The bathrooms and showers were very clean" at a different location.

What you should know

Seasonal considerations: The camping season around Youngstown generally runs April through October with limited options in winter. "We arrived late and our site info was in the night drop so all good... We timed our visit well the park was pretty empty in mid-October but the weather was still nice," shares Thomas S. about his fall experience.

Pricing variations: AA Royal Motel & Campground offers year-round camping with various pricing structures. "They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week's stay," reports Kara W.

Varying site quality: Site conditions vary significantly between campgrounds. "The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night," explains a camper at AA Royal.

Bug preparation: Pack insect repellent, especially for summer camping. "The only issues we had were the absurd amount of mosquitoes literally all day long. They were relentless!" warns Fred J. about his RV camping experience near Youngstown, New York.

Tips for camping with families

Consider kid-friendly amenities: Look for campgrounds with specific children's activities. "Great for families. Very safe, spaces were a bit small for a tent site. Great amenities pool/showers/games for kids," recommends Cara B. about Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday.

Reserve well ahead: Family-friendly spots fill quickly during summer and holiday weekends. "My child had a blast. The tent site wasn't private or fancy but the rest of the facility was great. Staff super nice. We arrived in middle of night and paid the next morning. Very convenient. The pool is awesome," shares Melissa N.

Check noise levels: Some campgrounds near major roads experience traffic noise. "Basic, clean campground about 20 mins from the Falls. Very convenient with nice workers but likely wouldn't book again. The noises of the town made it very difficult to sleep in our tent," reports Shan Q. about staying near Niagara Falls.

Tips from RVers

Site dimensions: RV campers should confirm exact site measurements before booking. "The campground is very small. It makes for challenging entry and exit for Class A, especially if towing," warns Santiago O. about RV camping near Youngstown.

Hookup locations: Don't assume utilities are conveniently positioned. "At checkin I asked about electrical at the site and was told, 'there should be'. There really wasn't, but there was 3 sites away. I also asked about water and was told, 'I think so'. It was 4 sites away," shares Gaines B. about one campground.

Year-round options: For off-season RV camping, specific facilities remain open. "This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened... It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn't suck," notes Gary P.
