Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ravena, NY

Several RV parks near Ravena provide seasonal accommodations with varying hookup options. Schodack Island State Park Campground offers electric sites with 30/50 amp service and can accommodate larger motorhomes on spacious sites. Lake Taghkanic State Park Campground, operating from May through mid-October, features electric hookups with both thirty and fifty-amp service. "The sites are amongst the most spacious I've ever seen. RV sites offer 30/50 amp electricity," noted one camper about Schodack Island. Arrowhead Marina & RV Park in Glenville provides full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections, and welcomes big rigs from mid-May through mid-October. North-South Lake Campground in the Catskills has electric sites but no sewer hookups, operating seasonally from May to October.

Throughout the Catskills region, RV travelers should note that mountain terrain can create navigation challenges on some access roads. Cell service varies significantly between campgrounds, with Schodack Island offering workable AT&T and Verizon coverage for remote work needs, while North-South Lake has virtually no connectivity. Most parks provide dump stations for those without full hookup sites. Pet policies require documentation beyond just rabies tags at some locations. According to one visitor, "They don't let you in with just the tag, it has to be the paper records." Winter camping options are limited, with most facilities closing by mid-October. Advance reservations are strongly recommended during summer weekends and fall foliage season when occupancy rates peak.

    Blue Mountain Campground

    Family friendly/ rocky tent campsite’s

Located in the Catskills. This is a family friendly there’s bathrooms/showers playground, pool, potable water and a outdoor pavilion. Located near hiking in the Catskills and 15 mins to Woodstock.

The tent site are very richly and uneven, it was very hard to pitch a tent. When it rains theres a horrible smell across the campground.

    Schodack Island State Park Campground

    Spacious State Park

I’ve yet to have a bad experience at a state park. They are always better maintained and are typically more beautiful and interactive than national park campgrounds and even most RV parks.

The sites are amongst the most spacious I’ve ever seen. RV sites offer 30/50 amp electricity. There are several hiking trails, a bike trail, a really awesome playground, boat dock, and lots of picnicking.

The bathrooms are clean. The showers are large, but they do operate on a push system where you can’t adjust the pressure, temp, or how long the water comes out, so just be aware of that. Lots of water fill ups in the campground. Dump station on the way out. Two different book exchanges. Mostly filled with Danielle Steele, which is not my preference, but maybe someone will spice it up in the future.

ATT and Verizon fluctuate between 1-3 bars. It was enough for me to work - downloading files, sending emails, and conducting non-video zoom calls. At night we were able to stream with just a little buffering needed throughout.

Lots of bunnies, weasels, chipmunks, birds, and butterflies. Plenty of space to walk the dog. Be sure to bring your dogs rabies records!! They don’t let you in with just the tag, it has to be the paper records. We’re full time so not a problem as it’s always with me, but they are very strict on rabies requirements

    Definitely recommend.

    Krawczyk Farm

    Beautiful property

Dolores had great communication with us, and we should have followed her written email instructions rather than rely upon the Get Directions link on The Dyrt which took us to the wrong location. We were here for just an overnight. While we found the concrete pad on which to park, we were unable to get onto it with our travel trailer because of the tight parameters in which to manuever. We were, however, able to level-up on the gravel drive next to it and plug into the electric. Next morning we were able to see how we could have possibly gotten onto the pad by circling around through the *wet* grassy field and pulling through onto the pad.  Dolores was apologetic that she wasn't there to help us understand the process.  It is a beautiful property and convenient to town.

    Savoy Mountain State Forest Campground

Great campground, though hard to find

Savoy mountain campground is a very nice state park camp, but don’t rely on gps to get you there it will put you on the wrong end of the park in the middle of a rural neighborhood. The park is so hard to find that not even a cell signal can get there, if your looking to unplug this is a great spot!Use the directions provided on the website, they are far more reliable. Very clean park, convenient clean restroom/shower building and helpful staff. There are RV sites and there is a dump station/potable water fill station available at the park entrance, but no RV hook ups of any kind. Sites are spacious and many shaded sites have decent privacy though open field sites are also available, bear boxes are provided at each site as this is black Bear country. Ample hiking to be done in the park and you can access the Mohawk trail right from the campground, the Appalachian trail and Mt Greylock is a short drive away.

    Spacious Skies Woodland Hills

    A peaceful place with character.

My first visit to New York state was amazing, largely in part due to my campsite at the Woodland Hills campground. I had a back in site and was having problems with my camper, and they were able to change to a pull through at time of check in. However, it was in early May and before the summer crowds. The pond has a fountain which sounds like a small waterfall at night, and wildflowers were in bloom. Very nice bathrooms and showers, and my dog loved the dog park.

    North-South Lake Campground

    Beautiful grounds but…

Gorgeous campgrounds, friendly staff, and spectacular facilities. Loved that trailheads are walking distance from the sites. But we felt very close to campers next to us, not a lot of shrubbery between sites to feel somewhat private. Fire pits are very nice but more catered to cooking instead of being able to sit around in a circle. Also, we picked a site hoping we’d have a nice view of the lake but it’s hard to see from the site and a good walk away. Overall, beautiful grounds but I’d take less facilities to have a more “woodsy” vibe but that’s just my preference!

    Nickerson Park Campground

    Private Early Season Camping

We stayed for two nights mid-week in June and had the entire loop to ourselves. That made the experience a 5/5, but after seeing the site layout, it seems like accessibility could be an issue with high occupancy. Check-in went very smoothly and we were greeted by the new owner of only 45 days. She was extremely pleasant. Most of the campground is filled with seasonal RVs which makes for a different experience. Our site was on top of the creek, close to the path down to the water and close to a hiking trail. During our visit we drove around the nearby towns and didn't find much to see or do with our time. I don't know if I would stay here again just for the visit to the campground given the higher cost, but we enjoyed the one time experience. Verizon cell service was decent, and enough to work remotely.

Hiking trails: The region features interconnected trail systems with varying difficulty levels. At North-South Lake Campground, "A lot of the hiking nearby is also relatively easy and includes the newly opened (as of 2016) viewing platform for Kaasterskill falls, which is minutes down the road from the campground."
