Best RV Parks & Resorts near Blairstown, NJ

RV campgrounds near Blairstown provide varying levels of site accommodation and hookup options. Mountain Top RV Park offers full hookup RV sites with both water and electric connections, while Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort features 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer hookups with availability from April through October. Thousand Trails Timothy Lake South and North campgrounds, located within 30 miles of Blairstown, accommodate big rigs with full hookup sites including 50-amp service. Pull-through RV pads are available at several parks, though availability varies by season. Great Divide Campground provides 30-amp electric service with water connections on moderately sized sites. "The sites are nicely wooded, very well spaced, fairly level with 50A service and water hookup. Although the water spigots were shared between sites, they provide hose caddies that should reach most RV hookups," noted one visitor.

Navigating mountain roads to reach some RV parks requires careful planning, especially for larger motorhomes. Colonial Woods received a visitor comment that "this place is not the place for you if you have a fifth wheel. The roads are very narrow, pretty sizable boulders on both sides, trees are very low and need to be trimmed." Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with Panther Lake Camping Resort experiencing poor Verizon coverage and limited WiFi access. Most parks provide sanitary dump stations, though Timothy Lake North and South offer the convenience of full sewer hookups at individual sites. During peak summer and fall foliage seasons, advance reservations are essential as RV sites fill quickly, particularly for weekend stays. Pet-friendly options exist at most parks, with designated pet areas at Delaware Water Gap KOA and Mountain Top RV Park.

    Kymers Camping Resort

Fun, friendly & nestled in the woods

We stayed at Kymer's on a whim for a weekend, so we could be close to Mountain Creek for a Spartan Race. It truly exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This is a family friendly, camper-friendly place. Lots of seasonals- everyone waves, everyone stops to chat. This is what a campground should feel like. The sound of laughter and play sitting around the huge, clean pool was refreshing. Our site was Oak 10. It was level, good placement of electric water & sewer connects. Camp store has all the basics you might need. There is a brook that flows adjacent to the property. It's peaceful & magical. Pet friendly, although we didn't have our pup with us. We will be back again. I almost feel like I'm revealing a hidden gem with this post. 💎

    Colonial Woods Family Resort

    Not big rig friendly.

Ok so let me start off by saying. If we still had our smaller travel trailer this review would’ve been at least 4 stars. However this place is not the place for you if you have a fifth wheel. The roads are very narrow, pretty sizable boulders on both sides, trees are very low and need to be trimmed (almost took my ac out with a huge limb). Now if you’re not big rig camping like we do, this place is great for you. Close to the ringing rocks and three other towns. We were able to do so much even though it rained the entire weekend we were there.

    Tohickon Family Campground

    Great But...

Its a great campGround But There are some cons. Don't come if your in a tent And It Has Been ior will rain, It Becomes Flooded or turns into A mudPit. All The Private or Good spots are usually taken By seasonals But the other spots are decent if you Have A Big rig it can Be A little squish.

Pros Great People beautiful surroundings Nice Bathrooms Quiet and Peaceful Accessible Nice Pool Every store U could Need is in about 15 mins Away Not Alot of Stupid rules just Be respectful Pet friendly

I Been coming Here for years Never Had A Bad Time.

    Mountain Vista Campground

    Mt Vista Campground

Beautiful Campground. Clean. Gravel sites. Fire ring and picnic table. All sites have ample room. Lots of pull through for bigger rigs. Wooded. Large dog park. Love the Campground except our site is near a fairly busy road which takes away from that beautiful tranquility. They have camouflaged it as best they could. Friendly staff. Lots to do. Pool, tennis. Sauna, pond for fishing ( catch & release ). Would definitely recommend.

    Stonybrook RV Resort

    This is a great place!

We spent four nights at Stonybrook RV Resort in Lehighton, PA, for a quiet wedding anniversary getaway— and so glad we did. We paid$150 per night total for a FHU 50 Amp Premium Back-in site (#F20). This campground makes a great home-base while hanging out in the Pocono Mountains.

    THINGS I LIKED:

    • This place is in super condition— everything works as it’s supposed to and is clean and maintained
    • The concrete pad/patio with Breeo smokeless fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and metal patio table and chairs made a great setup
    • Our site(F20) is level and beautiful— spacious and beautifully landscaped
    • We interacted with 5 members of their staff and all were welcoming and friendly to talk with
    • There’s a heated pool behind the office/store so it’s not noisy for campers at their sites

THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE SO MUCH:

    • Just one thing— the entrance made for a challenging entry up a steep grade, narrow roadway, and sharp turn in. I made it without problems, but it wasn’t easy in a 45’ motorhome towing a Jeep. This may be nitpicky— and I’m not complaining about it— just letting you know to expect it on arrival.

    WOULD WE COME BACK?

    • Absolutely, this is a great campground(I’ve already recommended it to my Newmar Kountry Klub chapter president as a possible site for a future rally).

    Tobyhanna State Park Campground

    Great family campground

This place only gets 4 stars because I thought we were going to have water and electric hook ups. They only have 2 kinds of sites, modern electric (only electric) and primitive. They have a potable water station and dump station and very few sites with electric hook up. They also have specific pet friendly sites. We had a wonderful time here. We went for Father’s Day weekend in June. The lake is gorgeous! Beachfront swimming and boat rentals, great biking and hiking trails. Sites are mostly separated by trees but are still close. Bath houses were very clean and they have a dish washing sink as well. Beach is within walking and biking distance. Two cons- Bath house at the beach is 50 cents for a 2-minute shower, so we just went back to the campground bath house to clean up. The playground near sites 53-56 is a little underwhelming. Otherwise was a great stay! We already booked another stay in September this year!

The Pines Campground — Promised Land State Park

Quiet, just remote enough, a Great Lake, and nice camp hosts

I stayed for three nights in a pull through trailer site with 50 AMP and 30 AMP electric. Easy to get in and out of, nice and shady, big spaces so you were not on top of one another, and nice and quiet. Clean and modern bath house, water close by, and great camp hosts. Definitely recommend it.

    Mahlon Dickerson Reservation

    Nice, small, spacious campground

We stayed at site 15 for 5 days. The sites are nicely wooded, very well spaced, fairly level with 50A service and water hookup. Although the water spigots were shared between sites, they provide hose caddies that should reach most RV hookups. No sewer hookup, but there is a convenient dump station. There are no fire rings in the RV section, only raised grills. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekend did get busy. AT&T had ok data connection with 1-2 bars most of the time. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy. OTA TV was very inconsistent using an external omni antenna. There is no WiFi. There is a very nice network of trails in the reservation, most if not all were leashed dog friendly. There is a very nice restaurant, Stone Water, less than 10 miles away and is right on lake Hopatcong.

Lower Lake Campground Northwoods Area — Promised Land State Park

    Northwoods Campground

Big sites with 30 amp service available for RVs and trailers. Each site has a large picnic table and a fire ring with an adjustable grate. The pull-through sites don’t offer much in the way of privacy, but that’s the trade off for convenience. There are two potable water spigots in the campground. The bathhouse offers warm showers, 2 dishwashing sinks, and a coin-operated washer and dryer. The facilities are kept very clean. On the weekends it can get pretty crowded, so it tends to be louder at night then, but the camp hosts and the rangers do a good job of enforcing quiet hours. Access points to several trails are very near the campground. As with all PA state parks, alcohol is prohibited. The park doesn’t have a camp store, however, there is a small general store on Route 390 (The Lake Store) just north of the park that would have any essentials you may have forgotten, as well as ice for your cooler.

Guide to Blairstown

Blairstown, New Jersey sits in the scenic Ridge and Valley region with elevations ranging from 400 to 1,600 feet. The area experiences distinct seasons with summer temperatures averaging 70-85°F and winter snowfall creating challenging access to some campgrounds from December through March. Most RV campgrounds near Blairstown remain open from April through October, with limited winter camping options.

What to do

Hiking trails access: At Mahlon Dickerson Reservation, campers can enjoy direct access to multiple hiking paths. "We always hike to the lake here, it's a very easy hike and also very peaceful," notes one visitor. The reservation offers connections to longer trails throughout the surrounding forest.

Mountain biking: The slopes around Blairstown offer challenging rides for cyclists of all levels. At Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort, visitors can "ride the ski lifts up to the top of the mountain then you get to bike down it, they have rental bikes available or bring your own. You can also Zip line or swing through the trees if you would rather."

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds offer fishing access within walking distance. "There's a nice lounge room with games, a pool table, a tv and puzzles/board games," mentions a visitor to Mountain Top RV Park, which also provides fishing access points within a short drive.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Campers frequently mention site size as a key factor. "The sites are pretty nice, level and wide enough that my awning isn't touching my neighbors slide out," notes a visitor to Mahlon Dickerson Reservation. The woodland setting provides natural separation between many campsites.

Quieter locations: For those seeking peaceful surroundings, certain campgrounds stand out. "[Mahlon Dickerson] is so quiet here. No amenities or extras here, just really pleasant camping in the woods," shares one camper. The reservation's layout places sites far enough apart to minimize noise from neighbors.

Clean facilities: Stoneybrook RV Resort receives consistent praise for maintenance. "Shower/bathrooms are the best I've ever seen," states one reviewer. Another mentions that "the place was meticulously clean and the permanent campers keep their sites so well."

What you should know

Limited cell service: Connectivity varies significantly across the region. At Thousand Trails Timothy Lake South, one camper reports: "Cell service is ok. Verizon is 25 down 10 up. Tmobile is unusable." Another notes that "cell service is awful for AT&T and our T-Mobile gateway."

Winter accessibility: Year-round options exist but with limitations. "We came in at end of season, so pretty much everything seems closed. But, it's a beautiful campground," reports a visitor to Thousand Trails Scotrun in October. Most facilities reduce services after Halloween.

Site placement challenges: Not all sites offer equal experiences. At Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort, a camper advises: "The office, playground, dog park, pool, laundry are located at the top of the hill. Camping spots are downhill, a good distance from the office and amenities."
