Mature hardwoods of Oak and Hickory with cedar trees mixed in cover the area.__ Wildlife such as whitetail deer, turkey, hawks, ospreys, eagles, and many different water birds can be found in and around the park.__ An abundance of fish such as crappie, bass, walleye, paddlefish, blue and channel catfish can also be found in Harry S Truman Reservoir. Approximately 8,800 acres of standing timber were left in the lake to provide quality aquatic habitat.__
The 950 miles of shoreline around Truman Lake provide plentiful opportunities for fun in the outdoors. Many parks surround the lake, including Harry S. Truman State Park. The Harry S. Truman Visitor Center sits atop Kaysinger Bluff and provides a spectacular view of the dam and reservoir. Exhibits provide information about the rich history of the Osage River Valley from pre-civilization to modern day. Our yard consists of 3 acres of a 180-acre farm in which we have three RV sites with water and electric hookups, two camping sites and one on-site travel trailer. Wifi is available at all sites, except one. Green Acres at Red Brick Farm is located just 50 miles east of Kansas City off of I-70 at Exit 49. Once you are off of I-70 your drive is less than 8 minutes away on all blacktop roads. At Exit 49 there is also a Pilot Station for RV fuel ups. Please arrive before dusk! Site 1 is on gravel with 30 amp hookup and water. Site 2 and Site 3 are on gravel with a 20/30/50 amp hookup and water. Site 4 and Site 5 are located on grass with a 20 amp standard outlet. Site 4 and site 5 are in flexible locations. Site 6 Is the on-site travel trailer, ‘Ain’t She Cute’. No pets are allowed in ‘Ain’t She Cute’. It is also great If you would like to bring friends that do not have an RV. The vintage style travel trailer is completely renovated and decorated with collectibles and antiques and is available for booking. It is furnished with a queen size bed, tiny kitchen, TV, wifi, and full size, not trailer size, bathroom. The trailer is for 2 guests, but an additional guest may sleep on the daybed, preferably a child or a small adult. There is an additional fee if you reserve ‘Ain’t She Cute’. Buck Ridge has 61 premium electric sites with pads that run from 50 to 70 feet long. There are six family sites with an extra pad, table, and electric hookup. All of the campsites have a lantern hook, fire pit, and table. The shower house, restrooms, and laundry facilities are at the Bluff Ridge Trail trailhead by the host campsite number 119. Pets are welcome but they have to be on a leash or restrained at all times. The water, showers, and RV dump station are turned off during the off-season so bring your own water during that time.
