After 4 days driving & 3 nts of boondocking, this was a welcomed stopover; clean, quiet, and level gravel pad. Open year-round. There are some full-timers. We stayed here before, and will stay again. After taxes and AAA disc $31.43 w/ full-hookups (30-amp). Verizon 4 bars.
There’s a small, rustic campsite at the head of a long gravel road (very hilly, good for a hearty hike) that leads down to a forest trail/hunting ground.
The camping area itself has about eight designated tent/car sites each with a fire pit. There’s a pit toilet (single person capacity) on-site.
Campground consists of open grassy areas with picnic tables and fire grates. Very nice lake, but some industrial type structures interfere with the view from the campground. The campground slopes toward the lake, so finding level ground is a challenge. We stayed Saturday night and there were…
Clean facilities, full hookup sites with concrete pads. A pool for the warm months, and a conservation site across the street. Plenty of fishing on the Mississippi river
We stopped in after a day of driving and no campground reservation. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and found us a spot for the night. It would have been easier for them to just say “We’re full” they could see we were spent. The restrooms and showers were nice. Total cost for…
Came after Labor Day and campground was virtually empty. Large campground however the sites are not that private if you come during a busy period. There was few bathroom facilities for such a large campground and they definitely needed some attention. I would not stay there again
It was a nice 5 day stay posts of room for your tent and parking. Play ground was very clean and pavilion had lots of outlets and picnic tables.
We pulled in here around 10:30pm, and it was a little unclear where to go. There is no after hours check in, and a number handwritten on a sign had no answer when we called. There is no map, Signs are missing, and there is no guidance where to go, or even what number our site was when we found one.…
This was the best campground. We stayed over the labor day weekend and the campground was full of activities for the kids. There was a live band and karaoke. The pool was clean and the grounds were very clean and nice. The pond was a great place to relax and watch the kids reel in fish after fish.…

We stopped here as we were heading east. Nice lakes plus swimming and boating facilities. We stayed by Wakonda Lake in sn oversized site with steps leading down to a little beach. Camp host ssid years ago it used to house a duplex cabin but was flooded out in 1997. Full hookup and small bathhouse…
This campsite is PERFECT. We only stayed 1 night but we couldn’t get over the privacy for the amazing price. Quiet campsite. Easy access and gorgeous stars at night. Would definitely stay if we’re ever around again.

Nice and quiet location. Rock/gravel pads. Water / 30amp / 50amp. Shower house. Fire pit.
Clean with shaded spots. Hiking trails and easy access to Mark Twain lake.
Great spot. Convenient to highway. Trails and cave to explore. Great for kids!
GREAT weekend! Vast sandy beach, volleyball net and sidewalk width concrete pathway to the water. Spacious CLEAN showers, bathrooms easy for littles to be big and do it on their own, push button style showers stop risk of being burned complete with final pull chain for those sandy feet. Stand alone…
