Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

Paradise By The Sea RV Resort

    Amazing RV Resort Near Beach

A nicely appointed RV resort in downtown Oceanside with an awesome staff. Pull-through and back-in, full hookup spots available. Cable, wi-fi, a clubhouse with TV and PlayStation for the kids, pool table, games to check out, and a small swimming pool and hot tub. There are also outdoor community areas with ping-pong, bean-bag toss, grills, and other activities.

The resort is only a 5- minute walk to the beach and not far from Oceanside restaurants and shops. While it’s a tad spendy, you really do get a lot for your money with a great near beach location.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

What to do

Water activities at the lake: At Launch Pointe Recreation Destination, visitors can enjoy lake access, though swimming conditions vary seasonally. "This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake. They also have a band on Saturday nights," notes one camper at Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park.

Family events and entertainment: Many parks schedule regular activities for families. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach. There are fantastic running/bike trails along the Back Bay," explains a visitor at Newport Dunes RV Resort.

Local exploration opportunities: The location provides convenient access to numerous attractions. "We used the campground as a base camp to spend time in LA and San Diego as well as a day in Joshua Tree National Park. 1-2 hours from everything," shares a visitor to Launch Pointe Recreation Destination.

What campers like

Community atmosphere: Many campers appreciate the social environment at RV parks. "We stayed in the natural area with hook-ups everything worked great. Neighbors were nice, cute set ups with twinkle lights and people enjoying outdoor fire pits. Campers were playing music, laughter echoes through camp ground but nothing too loud and all quiet later," notes a camper at Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Pool and recreational amenities: Swimming facilities are highly valued, especially during warmer months. "They have a great pool. Amazing amenities. Dog park, pool, clubhouse. We loved site 3 so close to the amenities and restrooms," reports a visitor to Escondido RV Resort.

Proximity to beaches: Coastal access is a major draw for many campers. "Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need," explains a visitor to Waterfront RV Park.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most parks require advance booking, especially during peak periods. "We read a lot of reviews on this park - many of them mixed. Overall, this park did not disappoint - too much. Amenities are very good for young kids. Canopy Court area has easy and close access to the splash pad, the playground, a large grass area, and even the pool," shares a visitor to Launch Pointe.

Site configurations: Space limitations vary significantly between parks and site types. "The spots are relatively tight. We reserved a spot for a rig with slide outs on both sides to accommodate our 39'er but it took some creative parking to get the rig into the spot in a way that we could actually open both sides," notes a Launch Pointe camper.

Noise considerations: Highway and neighbor noise can affect certain locations. "The sites are all uneven. Every camper we saw had to do major leveling efforts," mentions a Launch Pointe visitor regarding the terrain challenges.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly activities: Multiple parks offer dedicated children's facilities. "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful. Large concrete pads, easy backing in and hooking up. Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," recommends a visitor to Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Safety measures: Security features vary between facilities. "Very well maintained and clean campsites! Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities. Nice staff! Would of liked to be on grass like the sites across but they were clean!" shares a Rancho Jurupa visitor.

Educational opportunities: Nature experiences are available despite urban surroundings. "I have been here for a few months and I love it here. It's not only in the middle of a nature preserve but you're also in the middle of a City. You're nearby to all the stores you could ever need but you're also around a lot of wild life," explains a camper at Canyon RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Hookup details: Different parks offer varying levels of utility connections. "Came in for a convention in Ontario, better alternative than Fairplex park. Very spacious and good for big rigs. LOTS of activities for families. 50⚡️ 💧👍. There's a dump station, but a couple spots with dump but they were always booked," notes a Rancho Jurupa visitor.

Parking configurations: Site layouts affect accessibility for larger vehicles. "Good place to rv stay. Back in sites with HUGE additional spots for extra vehicle. No tables, Full hook ups, All paved spots which is great because no dust getting into your rig," shares a visitor to Stone Villa RV Park.

Seasonal pricing considerations: Costs fluctuate based on time of year. "Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk," explains a visitor to Orangeland RV Park.
