Reservation needed

An empty campground, tired family and the host can't let us take a space because we don't have a reservation two weeks prior. If I could give this a zero star I would!

DONT DO YOUR LAUNDRY THERE

Candlestick RV Park is expensive, extremely narrow - obviously people don't go there for the view or the nice camping experience but because it's closest to SF - so go there if you want to explore the beautiful city: Metro is 15 Min. walk an takes you downtown. But please don't do your laundry…

Great place for boaters

Sugar barge is right on the delta. They have a boat trailer parking lot and a boat ramp. The rv spots are very close together. The bathrooms have been recently remodeled and are very nice. They rent kyacks and have a restaurant that looks right over the water.

Free, Hot Showers.....yes please!!!

This campground is my happy place! I grew up going here, so lots of great memories. I've enjoyed showing my children all of the things I did here as a kid. Love that the showers are hot and free! You may have to push the button several times but totally worth while in my opinion! The creek is very…

Friendly staff

The office helped accommodate us for an extended stay during a busy time. Some sites are pretty close together. We have a nice site right now, but decided to park the truck at a nearby on-site lot due to the size of this space (but we were thankful they worked us in, and our truck did fit, but so…

Ideal for a Camping and Mountain Biking Weekend In Marin County

Located on the west side of the San Rafael/Richmond Bridge, on San Francisco Bay, this park is extremely popular with mountain bikers.  There are definitely better mountain biking trails in Marin (Tamarancho Boy Scout Camp, for example) but keep in mind that the bar is very high for mountain biking…

BEWARE- and be careful. Beach review only (haven't camped here yet)

This review is about the beach only. BEWARE-- WEAR WATER SHOES and be careful if you swim here. The 3 stars are because the water is clean (better water quality test results than a lot of other lakes/swimming holes/beaches around the bay area), the waves are gentle, it seems popular for kayaks and…

Family Vacation

I am camping with my husband and 3 kids and our puppy. The hosts are friendly, cheap firewood, china beach village is just down the road and perfect to explore and swim. The showers are coin operated and aren't in the greatest shape but they get you clean and it is clean inside. The bathrooms are…

A homeless shelter

The streets are lined with homeless living in RVs etc leading up to the RV park and after, it smells like sewage. When arriving I was moved to 3 different sites, all of which I couldn’t fit into. The guy running the park blamed me for not telling him I have a tow vehicle... he did however know the…

Fun day hikes

Area offers campgrounds but also its a good place to do day hikes. Its very close to San Francisco so it can get busy. Not the best place to be in solitude but it offers nice trails and views. Restrooms are available and there’s easy parking access.

Great people, pristine grounds

This campground is not far from our home but we are new to camping with all of our kids. The sites are nice sized on a large grassy property with some farm animals and large lavender garden. The owners are extremely kind and welcoming. It almost felt like a large family reunion. They want you to…

Gateway to the Delta

Lots of fishing and boating activities. Campsites are spaced out. Easy access to the water. Family favorite.

Not bad for the Delta

The reason I’m giving this three stars is because I the general area is not a spectacular nature reserve like Mendocino or some mountain lake campsite. It is near the river and the spaces are enough to park your RV and have your dogs run around a little. The surrounding neighborhood which rather…
