    Indian Point

    Very peaceful and beautiful

Great place to stay which is the norm for Army Corp of Engineers locations. Near Silver Dollar City. Our sites were not shaded but most others were. We saw lots of squirrels, a chipmunk and a few deer. The marina nearby had a nice Floating Cafe.

    Noblett Lake Dispersed Camping

    Actually found it.

Most of the sites on this app that say there's just first camping this area or wrong. They've been turned into day. Use only areas. We did find this small road with a loop at the end that have pull-in campsites. They're nothing special, some of them are overgrown. Mostly all of them don't have any kind of fire ring. Looks like nobody really ever comes out here. There's a big one at the very end of the road where the circle is. It does have a rock fire ring and it's probably the nicest one available. There was nobody here when I came so it was fun to let the dogs run.

If you go down the road to what used to actually be the Noblett Lake campground (it is now a picnic area, no overnight camping allowed). They do have vault toilets available but they're gross.

This road and loop is just straight primitive camping. Nothing special at all.

Edgewater Beach Resort- Lakefront RV Sites 16 Miles from Branson!

    Beautiful view of lake

We had camping site A, which is right on Lake Taneycomo.  Sites are very large with full hookups.  The resort has a nice pool and laundry facilities you can use.  We stayed for 21 nights in July of this year.  You are about a 20 minute drive to Branson and 5 minutes to Forsyth.   We were in a 33 foot motorhome with a boat trailer and a truck also on the site and there was plenty of room.   Laura was very good to deal with.  She gets back to you promptly.

    Into the Woods RV Park

Tiny home enclave in the making

We have recently moved our tiny home to this lovely quiet family-owned park. They are open to more fulltime residents and are tiny home friendly. There are no resort-type features. But, there is bath house with laundry and gorgeous tree shaded lots on gravel drives with full utilities. Outside of Yellville, AR there no restrictions against tiny home living. A fourth generation country grocery store is about two miles away and includes a real butcher shop and fresh produce. A Walmart, full service hardware store and the fishing paradise of Bull Shoals Lake(with the only remaining operational ferry in Arkansas) make this a great location to retire. No highway noise but close to Branson with the Ozark mountains all around you make it the spot for us.

Guide to Lakeview

Cabin camping options near Lakeview, Arkansas center around Bull Shoals Lake and White River, two major water features that dominate the region. Situated in the Ozark Mountains at approximately 800 feet elevation, the area experiences four distinct seasons with mild springs and falls ideal for outdoor recreation. Water temperatures in Bull Shoals Lake can drop significantly near the dam where depths reach over 200 feet, creating excellent trout fishing conditions in the tailwaters.

What to do

Trout fishing excursions: Bull Shoals-White River State Park offers prime river access with rental fishing equipment available on-site. A camper noted, "We chartered the afternoon with a local outfitter and had a great time. We caught a number of trout and were able to eat them for dinner on our last night."

River swimming: White River campground and cabins provides river access for cooling off during summer months. "There is a rope swing and family swimming park located across the bridge that we loved," mentions one visitor who enjoyed the river activities.

Hiking trail exploration: The area features multiple trail systems ranging from shoreline walks to mountain paths. At Buffalo Point — Buffalo National River, "The Over Look trail was pretty well maintained" according to a recent camper who explored several trails in the area.

Wildlife observation: Early mornings and evenings offer prime wildlife viewing opportunities. "There was an eagles nest on the other side of the river, so we got to Eagle watch all day as they circled the river hunting for their dinner. It was AMAZING!" reported a visitor to Bull Shoals-White River State Park.

What campers like

Waterfront campsites: Blue Heron Campground features sites directly on the White River with unobstructed views. "Camped right off bank of white river. Toilets/showers maintained and cleaned. Fishing is fantastic off bank on afternoon," shared one satisfied camper.

Well-maintained facilities: Many campgrounds feature clean, modern amenities despite their rural settings. "The bathhouse is heated, has restrooms and is very clean," noted a visitor to Lakeview - Bull Shoals Lake about the facilities that remain open during cooler months.

Privacy between sites: Campers appreciate the spacing at many area campgrounds. "The campsite was really nice and everyone was very friendly. The visitor center is awesome and the park had several activities available," commented a tent camper at Bull Shoals-White River State Park.

Nature immersion: The natural setting ranks high among visitor priorities. "We saw a park ranger on Sunday and asked about the water level and she said it had gone up 12 feet by Saturday night and Sunday morning it was 13 feet. We could see the level dropping throughout the day Sunday," observed a camper witnessing the dynamic river environment at Buffalo Point.

What you should know

Seasonal water level changes: River and lake levels fluctuate significantly throughout the year. At Point Return City Park, "One road does flood over with high water. Beach within walking distance, but also inaccessible in high water," cautions a recent visitor.

Limited cell service: Connectivity varies significantly across the region. At Buffalo Point, a camper mentioned, "There is no service in the camp site at all," making it important to download maps and information before arrival.

Weather variability: Conditions can change rapidly, particularly during spring and fall. "The water in the river is COLD and beautiful. We arrived on a Monday and there were quite a few boats passing (fishing)," notes a camper at Bull Shoals-White River State Park, highlighting the temperature contrast between air and water.

Boat traffic noise: Campsites near popular fishing areas may experience regular boat traffic. "It is very tranquil and peaceful in the mornings and evenings," explains a visitor to Bull Shoals-White River State Park, noting that during peak fishing hours, "you are inundated all day long with boat motors going up and down White River."

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Several campgrounds offer dedicated play areas for children. At Bull Shoals-White River State Park, "There is a playground and amphitheater as well," making it suitable for families seeking recreational options beyond water activities.

Educational opportunities: Gaston's White River Resort Cabins offers nature-focused learning experiences. "They have a nature preserve there and it was great to visit," shares a father who brought his family to explore the trails and educational offerings.

Swimming safety: River currents and cold water temperatures require supervision. "Located below bull shoals dam the water is very cold and refreshing if you can get the nerve jump in," warns a parent who visited Gaston's with his family.

Wildlife viewing opportunities: Early mornings provide excellent wildlife sightings for children. "Deer were everywhere!" exclaimed a visitor to Lakeview - Bull Shoals Lake, noting that the abundance of wildlife kept their children engaged and interested.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: Many sites feature concrete pads but may still require adjustment. At Denton Ferry RV Park & Cabin Rental, "Site 15 is by the water and has a large area for dogs or family. There is a staircase down to the water next to site 8," providing useful site-specific information for planning.

Hookup locations: Water connections may require extra hose length at some campgrounds. "The water hookup was quite a distance from the site and had to use three hoses to make it reach," notes a camper at Lakeview - Bull Shoals Lake, suggesting RVers bring additional water hose sections.

Shade availability: Summer heat makes tree cover valuable for comfort. "This is probably an excellent site in spring or fall. However summertime is hot at the site because of the lack of shade trees," advises an RVer who stayed at Denton Ferry during warmer months.

Campsite selection strategy: Researching specific sites before booking improves the experience. "If you have a smaller camper site 29 is amazing. The best view!" recommends a camper at Bull Shoals-White River State Park who found an optimal location for their rig.
