Best Campgrounds near Ladysmith, WI

Campgrounds near Ladysmith, Wisconsin provide a mix of forested and waterfront experiences, with several options for tent and RV camping. The broader area encompasses several county parks with water access, including Audie Lake County Park approximately 15 miles west of Ladysmith and Pine Point County Park about 30 miles south. Most campgrounds in the region feature wooded settings with varying levels of privacy and amenities, from basic sites with pit toilets to more developed facilities with electric hookups and shower buildings.

Access and seasonal availability vary significantly across the region's campgrounds. Most facilities operate from May through October, with several closing after the first snowfall. A camper noted, "This is a nice park with a variety of sites. If you can book lakefront with a dock those are the best." Several campgrounds require reservations, particularly for weekend stays during peak summer months. Cell service can be limited or nonexistent in some areas, with one visitor mentioning "truly a campground to disconnect, 0 cell service and your alarm clock is a beaver slapping its tail or a loon calling it's mate." Smith Lake County Park

    Out of town but close

Flush toilets & showers. Also one vault toilet. Clean with hand sanitizer. Lower sites are closer to playground, beech & picnic area. But upper sites are spaced better with lake views. All sites have picnic table, fire ring & power.

    FlowMama Trail Head Dispersed

Free parking, no water, no gray dump, no trash.

This is the trailhead for a very beautiful mountain biking trail and the roads that lead up to this area are incredibly gorgeous especially in the fall. The red building in the pictures is an emergency cabin. You can go in it and look around if you want. It's not at the trailhead, it's about 10 minutes from it on your way in.

    Eagle Point Park

    Quiet lake campground

I stayed here one night while traveling. The bathrooms seemed fire. I could not find a dumper on site. There is a dump station. Plenty of tent only camping areas. All sites require some leveling. Some of the sites have water hookups. Lots of people use the park during the day. It was very quiet at night.

There is a coffee shop about a 20 minute walk from the park. There is a public swimming beach less than a 10 minute walk from the park.

You might be able to get a large rig into the first few spots. But if you try to drive the loop around to the other sites, you might not make it. But I did not have trouble in my 25 foot motor home.

I had great 5G signals from Verizon and T-mobile here.

    Lake Wissota State Park Campground

    Decent for price

It was a very nice campground, it is a very big campground. Unfortunately the beach is not very clean and there are ground bees on the trail.

    Hines Park & Campground

    Excellent City Park Campground

Hines Park is beautiful! RV as well as tent sites available. Full hookups, breathtaking views of the Flambeau river. Close to town, yet nice and quiet.

    Eagle Ridge Campground

Okay for night, safe clean campground

The spots were narrow and opened up to neighbors. We were fortunate to have no neighbor on either side, but I could see how that would limit privacy. Laundry was clean but small only 2 washer/2 dryer and no fan in room….really humid in evening and you didn’t want to open door due to bugs. Bathhouse clean….decent rec area for kids including sand volleyball court.

River walk trail…not detailed in paperwork. Trail is just ok, a bit overgrown and lots of bugs. We made it a good ways in and felt like we were parallel to River, but it’s so thick with growth…you can just make it out through brush. I was not prepared with flip flops so I turned back. Unknown if nice view at end.

    Chapman Park Campground

    Nice place

We pulled in on a Sunday night and all but had the place to ourselves. Our site was on a small, beautiful lake and close to the bathrooms. We had a slight breeze and very few bugs. I am not sure if I would stay there for a full week and keep busy. But I wish my town had a park with everything that this one has.

    Medford City Park

    It’s a city campground

It’s small but the sites are nice with electric and water. A police officer even held traffic at bay and guided me into the site.

    Dorchester Park & Campground

    Great spot!

Great little city park in the town of Dorchester Wisconsin. We're just doing a quick overnight but we have 30 Amp and water hookups. Also, we scored a pull thru! All for just $22/ night! ($25 for full hookups)
