With the incredibly varied landscapes and diverse vegetation, Dolly Sods truly feels like you are somewhere far north from WV. The ferns and evergreens reminded me of being in Maine, the vast meadows felt like I was in Wyoming or Montana.
I spent Labor Day weekend in Dolly Sods. With the…

We absolutely love this campground! It's well kept, low key and super relaxing. The small park has plenty to offer with the lake (swimming, paddling and fishing) and trails (hiking, running and biking). We come here a couple of times per year! Bathhouse is extremely clean with great water pressure.…
This place is a gem! Nice wide open site. Unfortunately, someone moved our picnic table to the next site. Too lazy to move it. Pit toilets were pretty clean. Stream was incredible and lively with trout and crayfish. So quiet and very little traffic. Tons of space between sites. Water and dump…
Originally we booked a "creekside" campsite. Which was especially disappointing, as it was a tiny gravel lot, hardly big enough for two small tents, a picnic table, and to park our car. Luckily we were able to switch to the tent only area due to some cancellations.
The tent only areas are…
Each site was massive with privacy from your neighbors. There is a great access to the trails from the campsite and a short walk to the overlook. Depending upon your location the bathrooms can be a hike. Sites 3-7 are good locations.
The area is really nice. The site we were at was good and the sites are decently spread out. However, the water fill up is in a weird spot as well as the dump station. As others have said, most electric boxes are on the wrong side of the unit. Some spots are also very unlevel. Bathhouse is decent.
Super nice Campground The beach is beautiful and super close the lake is amazing and the campground very well maintained.
Took the family here plenty to do for kids playground went fishing in the outflow kids played in the water coldest water I ever stood in I would recommend this site if you have a boat the lake is not far at all
Campground was so clean & neat. Ohio Pyle is great place to visit on weekend so many Hikes & other adventures are available specially biking on River side was so beautiful.

Very remote western Maryland Appalachia. Sites are right off park road, are huge, rustic, and spaced very far apart from other sites. River runs along the sites.

This is a really nice state park. Although the campground was nearly full when we were there it didn't feel crowded. Sites are reasonably spaced and ours looked out on a wide open grassy field which made it feel spacious. The woman at the entrance was really nice and helped us transition to a…
Camped here for proximity to the MD and WV high points, nice campground, clean showers, the electric hookups are not located in what you would call the right place (often opposite the trailer drivers side) but it’s workable with weird parking and extension cords. The trails lead through incredible…

We enjoyed our stay at this campground set at the top of the mountain! There’s just enough room in between each campsite and the layout is easy to navigate. It gets busy on the weekend but it’s a nice environment. It’s fun to explore the downtown after rafting on the yough!

Loved my stay at Audra State park. We were right on the river, surrounded by trees and could barely see the neighbors. Good walking trails nearby. It had a small camp store, and was dog friendly. I would definitely go back. The only warning is the road is narrow and bumpy so big rigs be cautious.
