About

Are you looking to get unplugged; enjoy nature and the outdoors with breathtaking views of the creek with the sound of babbling waters? Visit the Creekside Camp in the Whitewater Preserve to experience your private state park views and picnic areas ideal for a couples retreat, friends get-togethers, and family getaways. You can also experience beautiful trails, waterfalls, swimming holes, canoeing, kayaking, zip-lining, rock-climbing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and whitewater rafting within a 30-minute drive.

This secluded Creekside Camp offers the Tentrr signature package with fully equipped campsite amenities. We have an extended deck area with benches, a table, and a cooking space. We also included the following complimentary amenities for your stay: a comforter, bedding set, pillows, side tables, lanterns, a storage table, filtered drinking water, a couple of water storage containers, a 2-burner propane stove, double-sided grill/griddle cast iron combo, fat-wood, cookware set, kettle with coffee mugs, cutting board, grill tools, cutlery, dish towels, and mittens.

You can also spend quality time with your family, friends, and dear ones in the picnic area next to the creek. There are smooth stone perches by the stream for picnicking and basking in the sun.

The Creekside Camp is just a 15-minute drive off the I-68, a 1.5-hour drive from Pittsburgh, PA, and around a 3-hour drive from Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and Columbus, OH.

Please note parking is 10ft-15ft away from the site. We have a couple of designated parking places with blue driveway markers.

The Space: A beautiful private year-round creek frontage camp in more than 2 acres of land minutes to Morgantown and Cheat Lake, WV. Walk right from the campsite to the Big Sandy Creek with gorgeous views, where you can swim, refresh, and relax. Only an 1.5-hour drive from Pittsburgh, PA, and around a 3-hour drive from Washington D.C., Baltimore, MD, and Columbus, OH.

Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation.

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note:

  1. Our Creekside camp is located in the development area of the Whitewater Preserve. You will drive on a gravel road to get to our campsite. Please arrive at our site before sunset. NOTE: If you check-in in after sunset, we won't be able to assist you if you need help or support with any amenities or appliances on-site.
  2. We maintain our site naturally and sustainably, so please take care not to cause damage or affect nature. Please do not cut any live trees or plants. There is no smoking inside the tent; do not leave cigarette butts on our site. Do not spill any chemicals on the site or creek.
  3. A limited cell signal depends on your network provider in this area. Please plan accordingly. We can answer your questions and help you before sunset to ensure you have everything for your stay. We won't be able to answer your questions if you check in late after sunset and have signal issues late in the evening and at night.
  4. To open the green gate at the entrance, please lift it slightly and push it to the rock.
  5. Please use the designated fire pit next to the campsite. Ensure to put out the fires entirely and do not leave a fire unsupervised. We have a propane gas stove at the site for cooking; please use it as needed and turn it off afterward. After the fire pit cools down, please lock it and the wood rack with a protective cover to shield it from rain and sunlight.
  6. Enjoy the creek during the stay, but please note that the wet rocks are very slippery, be careful.
  7. Please bring your hammocks or lawn chairs as needed.
  8. Please stay within site; there are orange markers on trees on both sides of the lots to identify the borders.
  9. We also have a wheelbarrow cart at the campsite. Please don't take it to the creek area and use it only on the flat gravel road inside the site.
  10. Leave no trace. Please leave all trash in the garbage bag and take it with you as there is no trash service in this remote area.
