While we hit this area during a period of torturous wind, it was still an excellent zone for dispersed camping. Driving in wild horse road from Goblin Valley state park we considered one of the more barren (but still beautiful) spots to the left along the cliffs but then settled in a cottonwood grove along the road past the Ding Dang trailhead.

Great access to slot canyon hikes and so much to explore. Will return.

I found this area to have plenty of attractive sites on the rougher side roads off of the main Mineral Bottom road. The side spurs we explored were fine in a Subaru Outback but a trailer may have been questionable. Midweek we mostly had cows for company, but on Friday the area filled in - including some recreational shooters.

We drove in from the national forest to the west. The road was rough in spots but fine in dry conditions (Subaru Outback). We arrived mid afternoon on a weekday in May and half the spots were taken. Stayed two nights. Most people seem to use this as a one night stop over while doing the Cathedral Valley loop road, so spots seem to empty out each morning.

We had rough weather (very windy and a little rain) but that did not diminish the incredible view of the valley just north of the campground. Solid tables, fire rings and a fine pit toilet. We plan to return.
