Little Oak Campground has closed for the 2021 season. Big Oak and Hemlock loops will open on 4/4/22, and Lone Pine and Poplar loops will open on 4/25/22. Little Oak Campground hugs the shores and inlets of beautiful South Holston Lake in Sullivan County, Tennessee. With a view of the Holston Mountain ridgeline and lake islands, Little Oak campsites are a relaxing setting for your vacation. There are 69 universally accessible campsites improved in 2012 including warm showers and a paved access road. Campground hosts are available on site to answer your questions. 

## Recreation

Fishing is a popular activity for campers at Little Oak, with a concrete boat launch within the campground. Numerous campsites have easy access to the lake shore for tying off your boat. There are nearby trails for hiking and horseback riding. Children and adults enjoy riding their bikes on the roads between camping loops. There is also a lakeside grassy area popular for swimming and picnicking. There is an array of wildflowers to enjoy throughout the season, resident deer and turkey and other natural wonders for the naturalist in your group.

## Facilities

There are 69 universally accessible campsites for tents or RVs within four loops at Little Oak Campground. Each loop has a pair of vault toilets. In addition, there is an accessible shower house with 8 showers for the campground. There is a boat launch within the campground with an additional single vault toilet.

## Natural Features

South Holston Lake is a 7,580-acre hydroelectric reservoir managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and surrounded by the Cherokee National Forest. Holston Mountain and nearby Iron Mountain provide habitat for an array of wildlife including a healthy population of black bear. 

## Nearby Attractions

Little Oak Campground is within 30 minutes of Bristol, Tennessee, and nearby Bristol Motor Speedway. Backbone Rock Recreation Area is approximately 30 minutes away up beautiful Shadey Valley, and just five minutes past Backbone Rock is Damascus, Virginia. Jacobs Creek Campground and Swim Area is 25 minutes away for another view of South Holston Lake.

Welcome to Safe Haven Farm RV Campground and Events. We are a full hook-up campground that is nestled away in the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains of Roan Mountain, Tennessee. We are located near the Cherokee National Forest on a 75 acre secluded farm. Come to Safe Haven Farm to reconnect with nature and have an unforgettable escape. You have the options of camping on the Roan in your own camper using one of our RV campsites or you can rent one of our campers. We offer a total of 5 separate RV campsites. Our location also offers his and her master bathroom suites with showers. Our pavilion overlooks our pond, which also has a BBQ, and a mini refrigerator. Safe Haven Farm RV Camping and Events

Our campsite is located right next to the Watauga River. Relax and unwind to the sounds of running water. Nearby you'll find plenty of outdoorsy and adventurous things to do. All within a 20-minute drive, you'll find Buffalo Mountain Park and Jacob's Nature Park for some nice hikes with wildlife, creeks to walk over, and blooming plants. Johnson City and Elizabethton are within a short drive where you'll find restaurants and some shops.  You can fish on the river, but please be mindful of the water level -see generating schedule. Swimming is at your own risk. 

There is steep grade and you will need all wheel drive to make it back up. Drive directly to the site at your own risk. Otherwise parking from site is about no more than a 1/4 mile, about a five minute walk. Firewood is included.

The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

You can drive right up the site most days of the year, unless there has been a heavy down pour the road might be a bit muddy.

Enjoy the peacefulness of a mountainside experience. Hiking up the mountain, hanging by the campfire enjoying the great views, tubing or trout fishing in the nearby Toe River. Other adventures nearby include gem finding, art shops, horseback riding and much more. Outhouse on premises and our own spring fed water. Shower house is in the process of being put in. Bear Creek Mountain Campground

## Overview

Dennis Cove Campground has closed for the 2021 season, and plans to re-open on 4/25/22. Dennis Cove Campground is a secluded campground along Laurel Fork Creek at an elevation of 2,650 feet in Carter County. This remote developed campground is popular with those seeking a rustic experience. The altitude, creek side location and lush forest surroundings make Dennis Cove particularly desirable during hot summer months. With 15 campsites, Dennis Cove is a great option for family camping. 

## Recreation

Along with camping, Laurel Fork Creek is stocked with rainbow trout below the campground. Above the campground, the creek and its tributaries are managed as wild trout streams for brown, rainbow and brook trout. Laurel Fork Trail (#39) follows the creek upstream for 8.0 miles with twenty-six stream crossings. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is accessed one mile west of the campground along Dennis Cove Rd, or at the top of the nearby Coon Den Falls Trail (#37).

There are 15 single campsites, including two double sites within Dennis Cove Campground. The campground has flush toilets. Each site contains a table, fire ring and lantern holder.

The trailhead for Coon Den Falls Trail (#37) is next to Dennis Cove Campground, and the trailhead for the Appalachian National Scenic Trail (#1) is approximately one mile west of the campground on Dennis Cove Rd. Watauga Lake is approximately 25 minutes away.

We are located less than 5 minutes away from the Bristol Motor Speedway, 15 minutes away from Bass Pro Shops (Bristol), The Pinnacle (shopping, dining and Just Jump Trampoline Park) and a quick 75 minute drive to action-packed Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg!  Make sure to visit State Street in Bristol...where you can literally stand with one foot in Tennessee and the other foot in Virginia at the same time!  While you are there, you may want to visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, the Paramount Center for the Arts and the Cameo Theater.  More of a lake or outdoorsy person?  Visit South Holston or Boone Lake.

East Tennessee is home to a part of the oldest mountain range in the world, the Great Smoky Mountains. As the name suggests, the peaks are often shrouded in fog, but that doesn’t make the view from Clingmans Dome any less spectacular. At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome towers as the highest point in Tennessee and the third highest point east of the Mississippi River. Make sure to say hi to the hardcore hikers, many people hiking the entire Appalachian Trail will stop at this unforgettable lookout. 


A clear day at the dome observatory provides views as far as 100 miles. But explorers camping in Tennessee should plan on hiking their way up to the point, the roadway that leads to the observatory closes during inclement weather and from Dec. 1 to March 31 every year. 


If you’re camping with the kids and they’re looking for more occupation than your campsite offers, many of the natural attractions in Tennessee are also family friendly. Lookout Mountain is only minutes from Chattanooga and offers several world-famous sites like Rock City and the See Seven States point. 


All the mountain peak trails may leave the heights-averse camper less than enthused. But Tennessee has something for everyone. Also at Lookout Mountain, but plummeting beneath ground level, is where you’ll find Ruby Falls, the largest and deepest underground waterfall in the nation.

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Smoking, vaping and tobacco use are not permitted inside the glamping tents. Pets are allowed outside of the tents if they have crates and / or leashes.  You are responsible for cleaning up after you pets during your stay.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). We also have a list of amenities that can be added for an upcharge.   Restrooms are located inside the barn for your convenience.  Bedding is available during your stay for an additional $25 upcharge.  You are encouraged to bring your own bedding to fit a queen size bed.  Propane heat is also available for $10 per night.
