Best RV Parks & Resorts near Jamestown, SC

Several RV parks dot the coastal region within driving distance of Jamestown, South Carolina, offering varied options for motorhome travelers. Hideaway RV Park provides full hookups with both 30 and 50 amp service on concrete pads that accommodate large rigs. Big Cypress Lake RV Park and Fishing Retreat features waterfront sites with 50 amp electrical hookups and sewer connections, catering specifically to RV campers who enjoy fishing. Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach (formerly Carolina Pines RV Resort) stands out with 800 sites, all with full hookup capability including water, electric, and sewer connections. "All concrete pads with a picnic table and fire pit. Some sites are kinda close together, but doable," notes one Hideaway RV Park visitor, highlighting the practical setup many RV parks in the region provide.

Seasonal considerations affect availability at RV campgrounds throughout the area. While Briarcliffe RV Resort and Williamson RV & Mobile Home Park operate year-round, others have limited availability during winter months. Most parks in the region are pet-friendly with designated dog areas, though size restrictions may apply at certain facilities. Cell service varies by location, with travelers reporting strong Verizon connections at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort but spotty coverage at other parks. Dump stations are available at most locations, though Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach notably lacks this amenity despite offering full hookups at individual sites. For RVers requiring propane service, several parks including Willow Tree RV Resort provide on-site refills, eliminating the need to disconnect and travel for this essential service.

    Ocean Lakes Family Campground

    Nice beachside campground

One big campground with a lot of amenities. Nice people. Good size sites with concret pads and patio that accommodate larger rigs but the roads between the sites can be tight. Kid and pet friendly. Wish it had a dog park. Very large camp store, large laundry facility and water park. Very fairly price considering the he amenities. We’ll be back.

North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Dry Dock Marina

Great Amenities - Quiet off season

We camped here in our 34 travel trailer. We both work from home on hot spots and our Verizon connection was great.

The place is VERY quiet in the off season. We didn’t have any neighbors in the surrounding spots.

The pool area looks super nice, but it was a little to chilly for us to spend any time in the pool. The hot tub however was a great way to end our work days! There are plenty of showers and two laundry rooms. Both are very nice and clean. There’s a small arcade which was fun too.

Check in was super easy. We were very late and they accommodated us. The staff is polite and friendly.

The site is great. Concrete pad makes for super quick and easy leveling set up. There’s a fire pit and picnic table. The spots next to us are “premium” so they have a little pavilion over their table.

The dog park is small and definitely geared towards smaller dogs. It has a cute agility type course set up. Our GSD felt a little to big for the dog park, but we made it work.

    Huntington Beach State Park Campground

    Awesome campground!

Absolutely beautiful park. Well maintained facilities and lots to do. Within easy walking distance were hiking trails, Atalayah'castle'(great tour), nature center and estuary walk, gift shop/ visitors center, lots of hiking trails, and the beach! We walked everywhere but bikes would be awesome. We were in site 113 on the back loop- those sites(back loop) were super private and very well spaced out for privacy- the most private sites I've ever seen at a state park. Wifi was good near the bathrooms, but not at our site, so if you need wifi go towards the bathrooms. We camped at Huntington Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

Quiet wooded park on the beach, but so close to Myrtle Beach!

This State Park is in one of the best locations we’ve seen. Nestled in a huge wooded setting, set back from the beach. It doesn’t feel like you are just 15min from the hustle and bustle of Myrtle beach. There is a bike track for easy access to the shopping complex across from the entrance to the State Park. Its 15min from Murrels Inlet(great seafood places!)

The State Park has its own fishing pier and you can walk to Mtryle using the beach! There is an entrance fee for visitors to the Park which keeps traffic down (fee not payable if camping). It is also gated from 10pm to 6am.

Most sites have some privacy between them. Half the sites are full hookup, the other having electric and water. Most sites can fit a travel trailer or larger, with a few sites towards the front of the park reserved for tents (or tiny trailers only). The amenities although older, are clean. Decent size laundry which takes $2 of quarters. Cell service (Sprint) was ok, however the parks WIFI is poor, especially toward the back of the park, do not rely on it. Even in the off season(December) they said it was also due to so many people using it.

Fire rings and picnic tables at each site. Firewood for sale at the camp store for $15 a bundle. Summer it wouldn't work at all. Will definitely stay again.

    Ocean Lakes Family Campground

    Convenient and Great Amenities

We just finished our stay at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. We enjoyed it and will return.

Cons: no shade, sites really tight, a lot of golf carts zooming around, internet flakey - if you could stay connected it was good, site not level

Pros: right on the beach, a ton of amenities - including potable water, affordable for being on the beach with full hookup (e,w,s,c,i), concrete pad available, super easy to get to (it has its own intersection redlight).

*picture from our site to show distance to ocean - less than 100 steps. Site #2073

    Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

Level Secluded Sites, Well Manicured Park, Friendly Staff

We'd never been to South Carolina before and had no idea what to expect. We were thoroughly smitten with the coast and the city of Myrtle Beach, but we really loved camping in the state park. Everything was clean, manicured, raked, and private. You can see your neighbor's camper, but usually behind some trees. We now understand the words"Carolina pines" better. They are tall, straight as an arrow, and beautiful. There are millions of them in this park. Our site was level with easy access. It was long enough for our truck and fifth wheel. It was surprising how secluded everything was, yet the city is really closeby. People were friendly. There was a bunch of kids riding bikes, having fun. Lots of parents enjoying cooking out with friends. The park was super quiet at night though. All of the staff seemed cheerful and like they enjoy their jobs. Every camper seemed good about picking up after their dogs, which was really nice. We haven't found that everywhere. The only negative I would give this place is that arrival is a bit confusing, especially with a big rig. It wasn't real clear how far back in the woods we were going to go before we came upon the check-in building. Then, it wasn't real clear that we needed to go around the circle of the little parking lot in order to come up alongside the check-in building. Luckily, we did it right, but there needs to be more signage out there spelling it out in detail along the way. When you're pulling a 40'+ fifth wheel with a big truck, you can't just turn around anywhere. We were afraid we were going the wrong way a couple of times. That can be anxiety-inducing.

Guide to Jamestown

RV parks near Jamestown, South Carolina typically offer full hookup capabilities with varying seasonal availability. Located in South Carolina's coastal region, the area experiences humid subtropical climate with hot summers reaching 90°F and mild winters rarely dropping below freezing. Most campgrounds maintain pine-shaded sites with packed gravel or concrete foundations, providing stability for motorhomes on the region's sandy coastal soil.

What to do

Fishing access: Big Cypress Lake RV Park and Fishing Retreat caters to anglers with waterfront sites and private lake access. The park has approximately 10 sites directly on the waterfront with a walking path maintained by landowners. "Reservations are required to stay in this RV park. There are nightly and monthly rates. The park can handle even the largest RVs and most of the sites are right on the waterfront," notes Kevin G.

Water recreation: Visitors at North Myrtle Beach RV Resort can observe boat traffic along the Intracoastal Waterway. The resort features "a large pool with massive water slide and a nearby tiki bar. Lots of amenities for kids and a well stocked camp store," according to Zach H. The boardwalk along the waterway provides excellent vantage points for watching passing boats.

Wine tasting: Just north of the state line, CarrollWoods RV Park offers on-site vineyard access. "I visited the winery and the two women who own it are helpful and lively. If you visit, you must get one of their wine floats," recommends Nancy C. The campground features scheduled events and an art gallery/gift shop for additional entertainment options.

What campers like

Modern bathroom facilities: Campers frequently mention the quality of shower facilities at rv campgrounds near Jamestown. At Barefoot RV Resort, "Bathhouses were new and very clean- water pressure great," according to Jessica D. Sites typically include "grass patch, cement pad & paver fire pit," making for comfortable setups.

Spacious sites: Willow Tree RV Resort receives consistent praise for site dimensions. "Have plenty of space between you and your neighbors. Roughly 2-3 trailer widths between on both sides. Every spot is concrete, pull through, fire pit, and picnic table," writes Tucker M. The resort's layout provides privacy while maintaining accessibility to amenities.

Daily maintenance: Upkeep practices stand out at several facilities. "They pick up trash from your site every day and also offer recycling," notes a visitor to Hideaway RV Park. Many resorts maintain similar standards, with North Myrtle Beach RV Resort visitor T N T reporting, "Clean, well kept, and nice. Nice concrete level pads. Modern clean restrooms and pleasant staff."

What you should know

Beach proximity: Many RV parks advertise beach access, though actual distances vary. Hideaway RV Park is "about 15 minutes to the beach," according to Tammy K. Some resorts provide transportation options, with Derek C. noting the park is "an awesome campground about 15 minutes from the beach."

Connectivity considerations: Internet and cellular coverage varies significantly between parks. At North Myrtle Beach RV Resort, one camper reports, "T-Mobile phone and hotspot work well, ATT hotspot ok." However, connectivity issues exist at some locations, with another visitor noting, "I wish businesses would not promote poor quality products as 'free'. I probably could access their WiFi no more than for 3 times in all the time I was there."

Seasonal flooding: Winter visitors should research flood patterns. One Hideaway RV Park reviewer notes the facility is "prone to flooding in the winter season and you may need to move sites." This primarily affects parks along waterways and low-lying areas.

Tips for camping with families

Pool amenities: RV sites with family-focused water features provide valuable entertainment. Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach features multiple swimming options. "It has indoor pools, outdoor pools, waterslide, putt putt, bowling alley, and an arcade," explains Michele P., adding "Great place for kids to ride their bikes and splash in the water park."

Playground access: Many resorts include dedicated play areas. At Barefoot RV Resort, Jessica D. reports the facility is "clean, fam-friendly" with pools specifically designed for different age groups, noting they have "2 pools (one for kids with a slide & lazy river and one more for adults/quieter activities)."

Pet accommodation: Family pets receive varying levels of accommodation. One visitor to CarrollWoods RV Park highlights "one of the best dog parks that I have ever been to. It is very spacious, fully shaded by lots of trees and even has a few man-made hills for the pooches to climb." Most parks require leashed pets outside designated areas.

Tips from RVers

Specialized transportation: Golf cart use is permitted at several parks, enhancing mobility for campers. Barefoot RV Resort is "golf kart friendly to all local eating and show places, grocery stores and more," according to Fred R. This allows convenient access to nearby attractions without moving the RV.

Setup requirements: Site preparation varies between facilities. At Willow Tree RV Resort, "nothing can be strapped to trees... aka no laundry line or hammock attached to the trees and no tents allowed," notes Ramona K. Some Jamestown area RV parks enforce strict rules about external equipment and site modifications.

Leveling challenges: Not all concrete pads are perfectly level. At Briarcliffe RV Resort, Kyle D. reports, "Our site was concrete but in no way level, we had to use our leveling blocks to keep our auto leveling system from lifting wheels on our class c." Experienced RVers recommend bringing leveling equipment regardless of pad material.
