Hill's Landing offers 60 RV sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service options, though picnic tables are not provided at each site. All the sites have 20, 30 and 50 amp power, and a water hook up."

Most Eutawville area RV parks operate year-round, though reservation policies vary significantly among properties. During summer months, lakefront rv sites typically fill quickly due to water recreation opportunities on Lake Marion. Verizon service works adequately throughout the region, typically providing 2-4 bars of 4G coverage. Dump stations are available at Palmetto Shores and RV's Acres for those without full-hookup sites. According to one visitor, "The plumbing at each site is housed in whiskey barrels which we thought was a clever idea." Pet policies generally allow dogs at all local parks, though some may restrict certain breeds or enforce leash requirements. Several parks offer on-site propane fills, while others require travelers to visit nearby towns for refueling.

    Tiny Town RV Campground

    Nice Campground, Great Location

Family owned RV campground with full hook-ups and a food truck on the property! We were there on a Thursday evening and had delicious chicken street tacos. Easy to get in and out of the campground with our 28 foot travel trailer. Pull thru, level sites. Peaceful location surrounded by trees. You can hear the birds chirping and the neighbor's rooster while you sit outside enjoying the morning sun. All the sites have 20, 30 and 50 amp power, and a water hook up. The plumbing at each site is housed in whiskey barrels which we thought was a clever idea. Most sites had sewer as well. We had a picnic table and fire ring at our site also. Our Verizon phones worked fine with 4G, two bars. The campground is new, and small(16 sites) which we liked. The owners have plans to add activities and events in the near future but it currently has everything an RV camper would need. They were working on an axe throwing building and an activity area for kids when we were there. It's in a great location for exploring Summerville or Charleston, or for spending the day at one of the many nearby beaches. They offer a discount if staying a week which is wonderful since there is so much to do in the nearby towns.

    Eagle's RV Campground

    Ranger Review: Eagle’s RV Campground

We called to reserve a week long stay and were told they had sites available, which turned out was only one. The campground is definitely a “no frills” park and mostly used by long term/permanent residents. The host/owner had us pull right next to his own rig, it was a tight fit and we had zero privacy. He then proceeded to sit on his RV stairs and smoke and stare at us both when we were outside and when we were in our rig. We could smell the smoke which isn’t ok with us. We didn’t even bother to put the slides out. When we set up the electricity we had fire ants attack us. We decided quickly that we’d only stay the night and we’d leave first thing in the morning. Across the street is a nice state park and campground (Colleton State Park) but they unfortunately didn’t have any sites open big enough for our 30 ft class A. I’d recommend staying there over this campground if you want to be in this exact area. We luckily found another campground closer to Charleston to stay at.

    Mount Pleasant-Charleston KOA

    Awesome campground

This is a fantastic campground. The staff is friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well maintained. There are activities offered including a wagon ride through a plantation. There is a pool. They offer bike rental, along with kayak/paddle boat rentals. There’s a great dog park our pups loved. We paid a little extra for a deluxe site with full hookups and a lake view. The deluxe site also had a concrete pad, brick fire pit, and a swing. It was a shady spot with big oak trees. There is a nice camp store. The location of this campground is perfect near stores, restaurants, and not far from the beach.

    Mount Pleasant-Charleston KOA

    Beautiful, well-kept, campground.

Good location and quiet even though it sits right near Hwy 17 in a busy section of the city. Huge catch-and-release lake for fishing. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate your needs. Weak WiFi signal, but they will loan you a modem at no extra charge to connect to the Ethernet at the power post which is connected to a site-wide fiber optic network. It sits on a historic plantation that is only accessible by KOA guests with hay rides Monday through Thursday. Full hook-up with propane refill and dump station. Very near Wal-mart and Lowe's for shopping, among other stores. I recommend this KOA.

Campground at James Island County Park

    Hidden gem for visiting Charleston

When making reservations at James Island County Park we had modest expectations, but we were going to tour Charleston most of the time, so we decided anything close to the city would be good enough. The campground turned out to be very nice. We wished we had stayed there longer to enjoy not only Charleston, but the nature beauty of the park itself. The campground is located in a huge park with lots of amenities. The sites are spacious, covered with trees, full hookups with 50 amp service. There are a lot of shaded picturesque walking and bike trails in the park. The dog park was amazingly big, with a little doggy beach for water lovers. There is a big kids playground with a fun looking spray play fountain. It is located just 15 min drive from the campground to downtown Charleston. It is a great campground to stay when visiting Charleston. We have a video on our YouTube Channel- Summertime RV Rovers- about this park- Great Campgrounds in Coastal South Carolina: Charleston and Hilton Head Island. Please check for yourself. We camped at James Island County Park in a Motorhome.

    Sweetwater Lake Campground

    I love this place!

Sweetwater Lake Campground is a small RV campground. There is electric and water hookup and a dump station. Lots are decent size and fairly level on grass or gravel. The owners are very nice and available, if needed. Reservations are not taken, so you pull in and pick your spot. Drop your money in a lock box. The property has a nice size lake and all spots face it. There are fire pits and hammocks. The best and most fun part about this campground are the rescue donkeys. Their shelter and grazing area is situated directly behind the camper row. You can hear them bray and they will come to you and let you pet them, although, you should use caution as they warn you that donkeys bite. This is a very nice, quiet campground surrounded by private property of fields and lake. I really enjoyed our stay here!

Campground at James Island County Park

    Awesome Place to RV Camp

We found this campground well maintained and quiet. The bath house was recently remodeled and now has air conditioning. I found it to be one of the nicest bath facilities we have ever used. The campsites have full RV hook-ups and come with a picnic table and fire ring. The park does allow pets and has a dog park with a beach; it seems like the pups were having a marvelous time playing chase on the beach. This is a County Park with trails for walking or leisure biking. A new water park is under construction and should open this summer. The camp store is well stocked and the staff was very friendly and helpful. One downside was the WIFI (one of the perks at this place) did not work the entire 5 days we were there. I need to work remotely so this was a BIG problem. I had to go to the Starbucks to work...bummer! Positives were the easy drive and parking at nearby Folly Beach during the week, and the close proximity to Historic Charleston.

Campground at James Island County Park

Mobile Camping Bliss w/ Tons of Amenities & Attractions

Should you be driving an RV, hitched to a 5th Wheeler or hauling a trailer, whatever your mobile camping experience might be, there’s 116 campsite options to choose from here at James Island Co Park, which offers both pull-through & back-in sites (maximum 80 feet), which provide a great launching pad to explore more than 643 acres of pure outdoor bliss offering perhaps one of the most expansive list of amenities and attractions (see more below). Once you arrive here at this RV Campground from James Island Parkway, you’ll pass the Ranger Station and will circumnavigate the circle-like exterior of the park until you arrive to this very CG, turn right and check-in at the main office, which also serves as the CG marketplace.

This RV Campground is basically the expanse of 2 lateral football fields with an east and west side, dissected on the east side by 3 simple short lanes and a restroom / shower / laundry facility located right in the middle. Over on the west side, there’s a single loop that isn’t dissected at all, but has a second, narrower loop on its northern flank, where hereto, a central restroom / shower / laundry facility has been plotted right in the middle of this circuitous loop.

RV Campground Amenities include: FHUs with 20 / 30 / 50 amp electric, water & sewage, 24-hour staffing, activity center, super-clean, new bathhouses and restrooms, designated dump station, complimentary WiFi, campground marketplace, coin-operated laundr-O-mat, stand-up grills / BBQs, fire rings, picnic tables, propane-refueling station, trash / recyclable containers, cottages available to rent as well as ice + firewood for sale.

Situated just north of where your RV is anchored is the Outdoor Zone featuring a 50 foot climbing wall, obstacle challenge course, 1K sq ft bouldering wall and slackline that will have you and your brood enjoying these backwoods in no time. West of this Outdoor Zone is an 18-hole disc golf course and back towards the center of the park is a Splash Zone Waterpark complete with (2) 200 foot waterslides, 500 foot long lazy river, leisure pool & rainforest play structure, kid’s playground as well as a boat house with kayak, pedal boat and canoe rentals along with direct access to a small lake, round-trip shuttle service (to the nearby Convention& Visitor Bureau, Folly Beach Pier of Folly Beach County Park), Spray Play Waterpark, K9 park, crabbing & fishing dock, 16K acres of freshwater lakes, Santee Stage for live music and events, 4 individual group shelters and countless picnic tables in addition to 5+ miles of paved paths offering hiking / biking bliss.

Insider’s Tips? Here’s a few: (1) If you are one of those RV campers that come towing a Jeep behind them or have somehow managed to transport a golf cart with you and find that the slot you’ve been given doesn’t adequately provide enough space for everything including your RV (let alone the additional transport you’ve brought) have no fear, as there’s substantial, additional parking that exists right in front of the Group Camping area, just due north of where you are stationed; (2) I found it hard to believe that with over 100 sites there was only 2 restroom / shower facilities and every time we tried to use the showers, there was a waiting line – so given this, timing is EVERYTHING as normally everyone is heading to get their showers first thing in the morning – so I highly recommend you either get up SUPER early or simply change your shower schedule to mid-afternoon or early evening; (3) In the event that you wanna try something other than what you’ve been whipping up from the confines of your on-board mini-fridge or roto-molded Cordova cooler, then nearby there’s mediocre fast food options like Zaxby’s or Bojangles, but if you’re OK to drive a smidge further, there’s a great joint called Bohemian Bull that’s one part restaurant / one part outdoor tavern of which I highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and bar-b-cuban sandwich; (4) Should you need to stock up on any supplies while here, there is the county park store over in the RV Campground, but for anything more substantial, just about 5 minutes south of this CG you’ll find a Walmart Supercenter; and (5) IMHO the best slots in this RV exclusive campground are those on the perimeter with the best sites being the ones without anything behind them, specifically on the NW periphery with sites #46 - 55; along the westernmost side with sites #20, #21, #23, #24 and #26.

    Happy Camping!

    Colleton State Park Campground

Really well-kept quiet little state park

This one one of the cutest, most well-maintained State Park Campgrounds we’ve been to. The groundskeeper Larry is the nicest man and was so welcoming from booking to departure. You can tell he takes pride in caring for his site. There’s a nice big field for the dogs to play in and we were able to rent kayaks from the outfitter across the creek to explore the Edisto River. There’s a good burger place 3 miles down the road (Lee’s) too. The cell and WiFi worked great for full time remote work and locationally Colleton is about 1 hour between Charleston, Savannah, and Congaree National Park. I think this is also the smallest state park in South Carolina.

Guide to Eutawville

Eutawville camping options extend around Lakes Marion and Moultrie, connecting through the slow-moving Diversion Canal. Most campgrounds in this region feature level sites with nearby water access, making it popular for fishing enthusiasts targeting striped bass, channel catfish and bream. Temperatures reach summer highs in the 90s, creating strong demand for waterfront locations.

What to do

Fishing excursions: Johnston Landing Campground & Cabins offers rental boats for fishing the rich waters of Lake Moultrie. "Once you successfully navigate all of the backroads past Lake Marion and directly on the shores of Lake Moultrie, you'll eventually find a small nook in the road where you'll discover Johnston Landing," notes reviewer Stuart K.

Hiking trails: The Palmetto Trail passes approximately 5 miles from Johnston Landing, featuring sunken giant cypress trees and excellent bird watching opportunities. "Ospreys and Herons in particular" can be spotted according to visitors who make the short drive from camp.

Blueberry picking: Visit Black Pearl Farms during May for seasonal fruit harvesting. As reviewer Robert G. simply states, "Fresh blueberries!" This working farm offers camping spots in a wooded area behind the agricultural operations.

Boating between lakes: Hill's Landing & RV Park sits between Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie on the Diversion Canal that connects both bodies of water. "This spot is perfectly situated between the two on a tributary of a slow-moving waterway dubbed Diversion Canal that connects the two," explains reviewer Stuart K.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Eutawville rv campgrounds generally provide ample room between campsites. At New Green Acres RV Park, "These spots were huge right next to highway but noise doesn't bother us," according to reviewer Wendy C.

Wildlife viewing: RV's Acres offers natural encounters with local wildlife. Reviewer Mark B. shared, "The last time I was here (4 days ago) 2 does & a fawn came lopping/walking through the property. There is a beautiful private pond on property and the owner does allow catch/release."

Riverside tranquility: Black Pearl Farms provides peaceful waterfront camping. John B. describes it as "Beautiful, well maintained site beside the Edisto river, just as advertised! Private, peaceful, just what we were looking for."

Dog-friendly amenities: Multiple rv campgrounds near Eutawville, South Carolina welcome pets. Tiny Town RV Campground includes "2 dog runs" according to reviewer Alesha H., who calls it a "Super cute family owned rv campground. All the basics, no frills."

What you should know

Reservation policies: Monthly rentals are required at some properties. Cedar Cross RV Campground states "We only do monthly rentals" according to Nicole T., limiting options for overnight travelers.

Campground upkeep varies: Maintenance standards differ between properties. At Palmetto Shores RV Resort, reviewer Jonah J. noted "Such a beautiful location but price doesn't match the upkeep. If you pay resort style prices (in which you do) you shouldn't have to work on shower heads in the bath house."

Highway noise: Some campgrounds sit close to major roads. Claire O. mentions about Palmetto Shores: "Our sites were right next to the highway, I will say though we did tune the noise out the longer we stayed (and drank)."

Cell coverage: Verizon service generally works throughout the area. Tiny Town RV Campground visitors report "Our Verizon phones worked fine with 4G, two bars," sufficient for basic connectivity needs.

Tips for camping with families

Look for recreational amenities: Palmetto Shores RV Resort provides multiple family-friendly facilities. Reviewer Claire O. shares that "Palmetto shores has a nice outdoor activity area, a nice lake beach and a really nice pool and lazy River."

Consider restaurant options: Several campgrounds feature on-site dining. Linda H. notes that Palmetto Shores has "lots of amenities on the premises, including a really good restaurant!"

Check for playground access: Tiny Town RV Campground offers "a sand box for the kiddos" according to Alesha H., providing simple entertainment for younger children.

Seek shaded sites: During hot summer months, tree cover makes a significant difference. New Green Acres RV Park features "Tall trees everywhere. Very pretty!" according to Tracey S., helping moderate temperatures during peak season.

Tips from RVers

Navigate with care: Some campgrounds require careful driving through narrow roads. Johnston Landing requires you to "successfully navigate all of the backroads past Lake Marion" before arriving at your destination.

Site surfaces vary: Most rv parks near Eutawville feature natural parking surfaces. Tracey S. notes about New Green Acres: "No rock or concrete pad to park on so be prepared to level your RV."

Hookup configurations: Power options differ between properties. At RV's Acres, visitors find "Several 30amp sites with on-site water & plenty of space for more dispersed type off-grid camping," according to Mark B.

Pull-through availability: Several campgrounds offer easy-access sites. BC— G. describes New Green Acres as "Full hookups. All pull through. Easy Easy in and out," making it convenient for larger rigs passing through the area.
