Great Campground for Nature Lovers

Poplar Point is located on the banks of the lake in the Jordan Lake State Recreation Area. Jordan Lake State Recreation Area has several campgrounds with plenty of lakeside sites, if you make your reservation early. We happened to camp in Poplar Point during the busiest time Labor Day weekend. Even then it was surprisingly quiet, because campsites are generously separated among the pine forest. And after the weekend we were practically alone. So, If you love to be alone in nature, this is a great place for that experience. We have a video about this campground on our YouTube Summertime RV Rovers channel- 4 Great Campgrounds in North Carolina. We stayed there in our Super C Dynamax DX3. We camped at Poplar Point Campground- Jordan Lake SRA in a Motorhome.

Beautiful Coastal Destination but with problems

We camped there in September 2022 in our Super C Dynamax DX3. We sere stunned by the beauty of the Park and the Atlantic coast. The campground has a lot of advantages: heavily wooded, full hook-ups, nice facilities, friendly staff. However, the campground has a big problems with dressage system, which makes their dirt packed sites, muddy and unpleasant. We happened to camp there during a big rain and our site was flooded. Check our video about it. YouTube Summertime RV Rovers- RV Campgrounds in Myrtle Beach We camped at Myrtle Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Great resort but pricy

Right from the entrance we were provided with the service which was absolutely in accordance to the resort’s upscale rating and the paid price: we were met, escorted to the site, offered help with parking, the car dolly was taken to the storage. Everything was smooth and easy. Hilton Head Island Motorcoach Resort is a community of motorcoach owners. All sites are privately owned. The sited are beautifully shaded, nicely paved and landscaped. Amenities include tennis and pickle ball courts, pool, exercise room, playground, and even a doggie shower. There are plenty of roads to walk dogs inside the resort, as well as a nice bike trail right around the corner outside the resort. It is a great resort, but very pricy. Hidden gem for visiting Charleston

When making reservations at James Island County Park we had modest expectations, but we were going to tour Charleston most of the time, so we decided anything close to the city would be good enough. The campground turned out to be very nice. We wished we had stayed there longer to enjoy not only Charleston, but the nature beauty of the park itself. The campground is located in a huge park with lots of amenities. The sites are spacious, covered with trees, full hookups with 50 amp service. There are a lot of shaded picturesque walking and bike trails in the park. The dog park was amazingly big, with a little doggy beach for water lovers. There is a big kids playground with a fun looking spray play fountain. It is located just 15 min drive from the campground to downtown Charleston. It is a great campground to stay when visiting Charleston. Nice Small State Park with beautiful beaches

We camped at Kiptopeke State Park in a Super C Dynamax DX3. We enjoyed this park a lot because we had a great site. The majority of the sites in the Kiptopeke State park are on the open space. All sites are spacious, clean and green, but there is nowhere to hide from the sun. There are very few shaded ones and we were lucky to get one of those. Kiptopeke State park has two unguarded beaches on the Chesapeake Bay. Kiptopekes northern swim beach is nearly half a mile long. The south beach, which is even longer is open to swimming, fishing, boating and dogs are allowed on leash. And its absolutely beautiful!
