Best RV Parks & Resorts near Jeromesville, OH

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks near Jeromesville provide varying levels of site services. Whispering Hills Jellystone RV Park features big-rig-friendly sites with electric, water, and sewer hookups plus 50-amp service for larger motorhomes. "Whispering Hills is a great location for family fun. I can not say enough about how accommodating and helpful the staff was during our visits," noted one camper. River Trail Crossing operates seasonally from May through mid-October with pull-through RV pads, full hookups, and trash service. Evergreen Park RV Resort, open year-round, accommodates large motorhomes with electric and water connections, while Wally World provides 166 sites with 30/50-amp electric hookups but no sewer connections.

Seasonal availability varies significantly across the region's RV parks. Most facilities operate between April and October, though a few like Evergreen Park remain open year-round. Dump stations are available at all parks, but quality differs—one traveler reported that Charles Mill Lake Park's dump station "had no water hose fitting on it, so no way to rinse our blackwater tank." Big rig access is generally good, though site spacing can be tight at some locations. A visitor at Mohican Adventures noted their site was "very tight! No room for RV and tent unless you wanted them touching." Pets are permitted at most parks, with designated dog areas at several locations. Propane is not widely available on-site, requiring trips to nearby towns for refills.

    Amish Country Campsites

    Amish campsite

Very small campgrounds literally next to if not part of a corn field extremely cramped back if our camper was 2ft from the camper behind us and 15 ft from the campers left to right. When we left we had to knock on camper doors to ask folks to move their cars so we could pull out of out parking spot. The other campers were very nice lots of local folks they were fun to talk to. The camp site did have clean showers. Hot water. And. Clean restroom facilities. The dump station isn’t the best it is on a hill so dumping ones waste tanks completely could be a challenge The owners were polite but short The sites aren’t the best the electric is only 30 amp. And very dated they did have water hookups at each site. I didn’t take any pictures as there wasn’t anything to see at the campground other than campers packed in like sardines It is close to town and the shops. Everything closed at 5:00 including gas stations As they say any port in a storm. So as a last resort I guess it’s is okay. Just don’t plan to leave after 5:00 pm unless you have a full tank of gas. No ada camp sites. They are pet friendly

    River Trail Crossing

    Nice little campground

River Trail Crossing is privately owned, small campground (which we like) but nice and quiet. Sites include tents, small rigs and large pull through sites for big rigs. Sites located on the river are water and electric. Sites off the river have 50 amp and 30 amp. State route 95 runs to the right of the campsite so if you reserve any sites on the river (right side) you will have some traffic noise from the bridge. We reserved spot 32, farthest site to the right on the river. We loved it. The river was only about knee to hip deep. Most family’s floated with tubes and saw some kayaks. Not much for fishing at this particular section of the river. There is a paved bike/walking trail behind the campground - B&O trail. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. They do have 2 dumpsites available. We really enjoyed this campground, owners were very friendly and offer firewood and propane if needed. Mohican state park is only 10-15 minutes away which is really nice for hiking and fishing as well. We will be back!

    Gotta Getaway RV Park

    Ok

This was an overnight stay on our way to Pennsylvania. It would be a bonus for big rigs as the pull Throughs are flat and easy to get into. We tend to prefer a back in because it usually gives us a bit more protection on the backside. Unfortunately, the site we were assigned took three blocks to level up, the the power was on the wrong side and our picnic table was in the back area of another camper. The bathroom was nice and close and handy. Some great effort has been made to make it attractive with two-tone tile but that is all overshadowed by the amount of spiders and bugs. I am a full-time RV year and shower all over the United States and this was one of the buggiest ever. The majority of this campground is for seasonals. There are some very nice seasonal lots with a small pond in their back Yard. The owner was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Serves a variety of needs.

    Timber Ridge Campgrounds

    Great Experience

We stayed at Timber Ridge for a month and found this to be a very nice campground. Stores are very level, full hookups, fishing pond, amazing indoor swimming pool. Staff was extremely nice. Many if the campers are long term but have several overnight doors as well.

We stayed in a 29ft Travel Trailer, but sites could handle the largest of rigs.

    Mohican State Park Campground

    Winter Time But No Snow

We stayed on a full hook up site (turned off for the season) that had a nice concrete level pad. There was also a nice side pad that kept our chairs clean. A little further back in the campground to be close to the shower house that was open. Then found out that comfort station next to us was open - nice! Also close the water which was full and rushing all weekend.

The camp store was open on the weekend and the staff was nice to chat with. They had wood, but it was slab cut which doesn’t burn very well. We decided against it. Lots of snacks and other items still available.

Some sites were really close to the water, almost too close as the water flooded a few spots. The campground is nice to walk if you like to get in a little workout. They also have small camper cabins and them much bigger cabins which a few are pet friendly.

We went on a hike by the covered bridge to one of the waterfalls. Lots of trials to choose from.

    Cardinal Center Campground

    First camping trip 2020

This was our first camping trip after purchasing a new to us fifth wheel camper. We chose the Cardinal Camping Center because it was only 15 miles from our home. We arrived on Thursday afternoon registered and set up at our site. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we shared some fresh veggies from our garden as we had way too much for just us and asked the welcome center to tell people to help themselves to what ever they wanted. we then toured the campgroundand found the stocked fishing lake (catch and release) the indoor swimming pool. The camp also has some very nice cabins, no restrooms in the cabin but they are very close to the public restrooms and shower house. We then went over to the shooting center and tried our luck with some silliolet and metal targets on the pistol range. Thy also have trap and skeet available.

Our site had ful hook-ups 50 amp service with sewer and water picnic table and fire ring for $44 a night. All of the people next to us were very nice and everyone respected each other's sites.

I would go back to this campground again, we even extended our stay an extra day because we had such a good time.

    Mohican State Park Campground

    Unexpected Treat in Central Ohio

As part of a nearly 200-mile bikepacking ride, this was our last stop! We spent 2 nights in their "Class B" area down in the Mohican River Valley and loved it.

The oddly named “Class A” camping area offers everything from full-hook up camping slots for campers large and small, as well as just electric sites and 10 “walk-in” primitive sites, and cabins -- all of which are reservable. This area has all the bells and whistles of a modern campground with an environmental learning center, a nice outdoor pool, clean showers and bathrooms, an extensive playground and hiking and mountain biking trails right out the front door.

The “Class B” area offers 25 primitive sites on a first-come, first-served basis. It is almost 6 miles by road from the “A” services, but only a 2-mile flatish hike along the river trail. At these sites, there are only pit toilets and a water pump. Each site has a picnic table and a small fire ring. There is also a large group camping area just a few miles away from the primitive “Class B” area.

Tubing and canoeing are available within the park, but there are also several canoe outfitters in the area which provide rental / pick up services. The sheer number of these businesses makes me think that summer time can be crowded!!

Beautiful shaded trails meander all throughout the park and they boast some of the most challenging mountain biking in the mid-west, so read your trail maps. Hiking, equestrian and winter snowmobile trails also offer some great opportunities to get out and stretch your legs throughout the year. There is also a safe and convenient, bike lane / bike path into nearby Loudonville, which has a small grocery story and the usual fast-food restaurants.

Note: The only reason why this park didn't get a 5 star was due to their customer service. It was absolutely lousy, confusing, and the young folks working behind the counter acted as if they didn't want to be there and/or hadn't been trained. We almost left, but since we had cycled 42 miles to get there that day, we chose to stay and enjoyed our time in their Class B sites.

Guide to Jeromesville

Camping options near Jeromesville, Ohio center around the Mohican Valley region at elevations between 950-1200 feet. The area experiences distinct seasonal changes, with winter temperatures regularly dropping below freezing from December through February. Many rv campgrounds Jeromesville, Ohio area remain open from April through October, with only a few offering year-round access.

What to do

Fishing access: Kokosing River Campground offers lake fishing opportunities with multiple species. "Nice, small, shaded, well maintained campground. Beautiful lake, nice a quiet. Lots of waterfowl," notes camper Shelly S.

Bike trails: River Trail Crossing provides direct access to the paved B&O trail. "Bike trail access right from the campground. Golf nearby, Amish shops, canoeing. Great area to visit," reports Bob M.

Amish country exploration: Berlin RV Park & Campground offers proximity to Amish attractions. "We enjoyed 2 nights in this well maintained park. The campground was quiet and located just a couple miles from Berlin," shares Craig T. who appreciated the location.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Berlin RV Park receives consistent praise for cleanliness. "SPOTLESS bathrooms and I mean SPOTLESS. Lots to do for kids. Sand Volleyball, basketball court, tetherball, corn hole area and playground," emphasizes Tara T.

Winter camping options: Evergreen Park RV Resort provides year-round camping with indoor amenities. "We camped here the second weekend in December and had the park mostly to ourselves. The game room was nice as well as the indoor pool. Will definitely be on the go to list for winter camping," reports Andrea F.

Family activities: Whispering Hills Jellystone RV Park focuses on entertainment options. "Great activities including mini golf, pool, jumping pad and frisbee golf. Cabins and RV spots available and the staff is friendly, grounds are clean and nicely kept," says Kayla S.

What you should know

Site spacing variations: Campsites at many Jeromesville-area RV parks can be compact. At Evergreen Park, one reviewer noted, "Very clean and nice campground. I only negative for me was the campsites are very close to each other."

Seasonal amenities: Many facilities close completely during winter months. "We enjoyed our stay. 30amp, but the AC was still effective on a couple hot days," notes a River Trail Crossing visitor about summer conditions.

Road access challenges: Navigation to some campgrounds requires careful planning. At Wally World, a camper advises: "Do note the bridge you need to cross has a weight limit of 10 tons, so larger rigs will need to come up Wally Road from the south. If your GPS says to take ANY township roads, just don't. They are not paved, steep, and/or have sharp turns."

Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Lake Wapusun RV Resort provides swimming and activities. "Lots to do here for all ages! Great fishing. General store with all necessities and more," notes Max F.

Fishing for kids: Several campgrounds offer stocked fishing ponds. One camper at Whispering Hills Jellystone reported, "My boys were able to walk across the road to get to the pond that was well stocked with fish. It was catch and release but they were very excited to pull in some big ones."

Playground facilities: Berlin RV Park offers multiple play areas. "The playground also well maintained. There also was not an issue with biting insects- none of us got a mosquito bite during our stay here," mentions Jenalee R.

Tips from RVers

Hookup positioning: Berlin RV Park accommodates various RVs but has specific layout considerations. "In the part where I am it is gravel site but level side to side. The one and only issue is that water and electricity is located in the rear area of RV, while sewer connections are toward the front. I personally used 50' of water line and 30' of sewer line," advises Earl B.

Shade considerations: Most RV campgrounds near Jeromesville offer limited shade. "Asked for a shaded area...got a perfect one that had shade all day," notes a Scenic Hills RV Park visitor, highlighting the importance of requesting specific site features when booking.

Water quality: Water systems at some campgrounds may need filtration. One camper at Lake Wapusun recommended: "I'd have a filter for water also. People complained about dump station too but it's because you have to back up to it. Not a big deal."
