Best RV Parks & Resorts near Berea, OH

RV parks near Berea provide a range of camping options throughout northeastern Ohio. Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds offers overnight RV parking with big rig accessibility, though amenities are limited compared to full-service campgrounds. American Wilderness Campground in Grafton features both 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, sewer connections, and water at RV sites from April to mid-October. "The sites are RV and tent sites. They offer coupons for return campers. The surrounding area is nice and the owners are welcoming," noted one visitor. Roundup Lake RV Resort accommodates large motorhomes with pull-through sites, though spacing between RVs can be tight according to recent reviews. Vermilion Valley Ohio Turnpike RV Lot provides a convenient overnight option with electric hookups and a dump station for $20 per night.

Several campgrounds in the region have challenging terrain for RV leveling. One camper at Punderson State Park noted, "The lots are not even close to level. You will need a lot of blocks to get close to level. Saw one RV with auto levelers with his tire about a foot off the ground." Many parks require advance reservations, particularly during summer weekends and fall foliage season. Dump stations are available at Vermilion Valley, American Wilderness, and Findley State Park, though not all sites offer full hookups. Pet policies vary, with most locations permitting dogs with standard leash requirements. Cell service is generally reliable throughout the region, particularly at parks closer to Cleveland and Akron. Winter camping options are limited, with several parks operating seasonally from May through October.

    Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA Holiday

    Happy Camping

Relax, breath, and camp. Perfect spot.

This Campground is quiet, full of fun, for families or older people. Beautiful area.
Many pull through lots, with patios. 50. 30. Full hookup, (sewer and Electric) back in, pull through, tent sites, cabins, teepees. Swimming pool, private bathrooms and showers. Fishing lake, swimming lake, trails. Children play areas. Basketball, bad mitten/volleyball, Dog wash, dog parks (2), private fenced dog sites. (2)- pull through site. Golf cart rentals, and seasonal sites that are being updated, but all are decorated nicely, and kept up.
KOA is revamping some of this campground. Work in progress, but awesome stay.

    Gotta Getaway RV Park

    Ok

This was an overnight stay on our way to Pennsylvania. It would be a bonus for big rigs as the pull Throughs are flat and easy to get into. We tend to prefer a back in because it usually gives us a bit more protection on the backside. Unfortunately, the site we were assigned took three blocks to level up, the the power was on the wrong side and our picnic table was in the back area of another camper. The bathroom was nice and close and handy. Some great effort has been made to make it attractive with two-tone tile but that is all overshadowed by the amount of spiders and bugs. I am a full-time RV year and shower all over the United States and this was one of the buggiest ever. The majority of this campground is for seasonals. There are some very nice seasonal lots with a small pond in their back Yard. The owner was very friendly and helpful on the phone. Serves a variety of needs.

    Lighthouse Point at Cedar Point

    Immaculate!

Absolutely beautiful RV park! Gorgeous views of Lake Erie and walking distance to the gate of Cedar Point. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Good little camp store with reasonable(ish) prices. Too chilly to swim but the pool looks nice. Bathhouses are updated, clean and very nice, but pretty far from about half of the sites. One section has premium sites with upgraded grills and fire pits and crazy good lake views. The regular sites are still well landscaped and each have a grill and an extra long picnic table, but no fire pit. You can bring your own fire pit if your site doesn't have one. No bikes or golf carts allowed on the grounds, but there are Cedar Point buses available day & night as well as rickshaws during the day. Until now I have held Disney World's Fort Wilderness as the penultimate place for camping but they could learn a few things from Cedar Point! We stayed five nights in a pull through sites, #231. I would love to snag a premium site for our next trip but it may be difficult because they allow you to book up five years in advance!

    Timber Ridge Campgrounds

    Great Experience

We stayed at Timber Ridge for a month and found this to be a very nice campground. Stores are very level, full hookups, fishing pond, amazing indoor swimming pool. Staff was extremely nice. Many if the campers are long term but have several overnight doors as well.

We stayed in a 29ft Travel Trailer, but sites could handle the largest of rigs.

    Outstanding site in great campground

Stayed on a premium patio site and loved it. The campground and staff were awesome. Level site, great hook ups, awesome WiFi and cable. Clean facilities, 3 lakes (one with a fishing pier), 2 dog parks, and super friendly staff. 30 min to Cleveland. Walmart, gas stations and restaurants within 5 miles. Just off Ohio Turnpike, but can't hear it. Definitely recommend this KOA

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Love the Lake!

This state park has a lot to offer with the highlight being a large 2,650-lake that appeals to fishermen, boaters, and swimmers. The park is over 5,000 acres and not only has camping but hiking, volleyball, fishing, playgrounds, picnicking, hunting, horseback riding, and more.

The campground is divided into three loops with nearly 200 sites. Campsites include those with full hook-up (50 amp), electric only (50 amp), and some with no electric. This campground is suitable for everything from large RVs to tents. Sites and roads are paved and each site has a picnic table and fire pit. In loops where there is no water directly at the site, water spigots are scattered throughout. The restroom/bathhouses in our loop were really nice, modern, clean, and had laundry facilities which is a real plus at a state park campground. Campsites can be reserved online up to six months in advance. Since we were here in April, the campground was practically empty and getting a site was no problem. But, if you want one of the 29 full hook-up sites in the summer, you better book early.

We really enjoyed the hiking trails and being able to leave our campsite and be right on the trails. There are approximately 12 miles of hiking trails and an additional 20 miles that are open to horses and snowmobiles. (Be aware that hunting is permitted in certain areas.)

The park is about 15 miles from Cuyahoga Valley National Park which is a fantastic place to explore with a lot going on for the whole family! If you are interested in football, the National Football Hall of Fame is just down the road in Canton. The town of Hudson has a pretty, historic downtown with a fun old soda fountain.

We would definitely stay at this campground again. It was a perfect place to stay while visiting family in the nearby town of Hudson. Loved having a paved site with full hook-ups especially since there was a lot of rain while we were there. The lake was perfect for kayaking and had we been able to stay longer we would have spent more time on the water.

    Great stop for one night

Great campground on the smaller side, so not too much traffic driving around. Our site was gravel and fairly unlevel. Did our best to level it out but still have water collecting to the left. We lucked out and got a pull through last minute.

Water pressure was low. ATT cell coverage was full. Lots of shade so couldn’t use our Starlink internet but the campground internet was great. Even had video camera meetings on it while working in the morning.

Worth noting we were having some rig problems (slide out stuck in) and after calling four local places not one of them returned our calls. Only stayed the one night because we need to move on to get this fixed.

    Punderson State Park Campground

    Excellent Park & Campground!

We have just returned from our first stay at Punderson and have no complaints! Sites are smallish, but clean, mostly level and well kept, as is the camping area in general. There are NO pull-through sites I am aware of. Had a picnic with nearby family at one of the pavilions… again, neat and clean and well taken care of. Very quiet at night, which is something we look for. Firewood for sale on site was a bit pricey, but that’s to be expected. Only complaint was lack of strong WIFI, but we have our own uplink. Will definitely return!

    West Branch State Park Campground

    Quiet park with nice amenities

3 Immaculate bath houses all with laundry facilities, all sites have electric (no f-ing generators) and many have have water and sewer hook ups. There is no WiFi and barely one bar of cell service; your best internet access is at the nice public library 7 miles away in Ravenna Sand beach is an easy walk from all camp sites and boat trailers can be parked on your camp site Boat launch has a big trailer parking lot, too. There are hiking, equestrian and mountain biking trails in the park and launching off paddle boards is ok at the boat launch or the nearby beach Friendly staff and camp hosts!

Guide to Berea

Camping options near Berea, Ohio range from state parks to private RV resorts with varying seasonal availability. The area sits within northeast Ohio's humid continental climate zone, receiving significant rainfall year-round with average summer temperatures in the mid-80s°F. The region's terrain transitions between the flat Lake Erie plains and the more rolling Allegheny foothills, creating diverse camping environments within a 30-mile radius of Berea.

What to do

Beach activities: swim or kayak: At American Wilderness Campground, visitors can enjoy the lake beach during summer months. "We loved the beach and the fun we have had this is our favorite place to camp," reports Mallory N. The campground maintains a dedicated swimming area separate from fishing areas.

Mini golf and arcade games: Countryside Campground offers family entertainment options beyond standard camping. "The small putt putt course was still open for kids to play," notes Joe F., who visited with three children and two dogs. The campground also features an arcade and scheduled activities for children.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple campgrounds provide fishing access within walking distance of campsites. At Countryside Campground, "A nice short walk takes you to Mogadore reservoir," though Joe F. reported "no luck for us fishing from shore." Many seasonal campers bring their own equipment, but some campgrounds offer rental options during peak summer months.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Evergreen Park RV Resort receives consistent praise for cleanliness. "The camp store is stocked with lots of fun stuff and even had a cozy fireplace and rocking chairs if you want to sit while. Will definitely be on the go to list for winter camping," notes Andrea F. The resort maintains year-round operations with indoor amenities during colder months.

Convenient overnight locations: Vermilion Valley Ohio Turnpike RV Lot offers practical accommodations for travelers passing through. "Clean with electric hookup got $20. Dump station as you exit. Gas and convenience items are extra helpful. Safe environment to snooze overnight," writes Susan B. The service plaza location provides 24-hour access to restrooms and food options.

Family-friendly atmospheres: Multiple campgrounds organize seasonal activities for families. "We camped here in a 29'TT, 3 kids, 2 dogs. Well kept smaller campground. Kids trick or treated and all campers were very friendly," shares Joe F. about Countryside Campground. Many locations host themed weekends with crafts, games, and special events throughout the camping season.

What you should know

Bathroom quality varies significantly: Review bathrooms carefully before booking. "The bathrooms and showers smell of rust and are not very clean. I would never send my kids in there to shower," reports Tina R. about Willow Lake Park Inc. Newer or recently renovated campgrounds typically offer better facilities.

Seasonal operation limits: Most campgrounds close between October and May. American Wilderness Campground operates from late April to mid-October, while Countryside Campground runs May 1 to October 30. Winter camping options are extremely limited, with Evergreen Park RV Resort being one of few year-round facilities.

Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds feature uneven terrain requiring equipment for proper RV leveling. At Willow Lake Park, one camper noted, "after rains the sites were kind of wet." Bring leveling blocks even at established campgrounds to ensure comfortable setup.

Tips for camping with families

Look for dedicated kid amenities: Roundup Lake RV Resort provides extensive recreational options. "We camped in a 33' TT in a pull through site. Sites are close but shady and large enough for trailer and our truck," writes Mike A. The resort features a lake with inflatable water equipment during summer months.

Check scheduled activities: Many campgrounds organize seasonal programming. "The themed weekends throughout the season are fun and festive and there are a lot of activities to do and participate!" notes Evangelyne D. about Roundup Lake RV Resort. Call ahead for activity calendars since most events run only during peak summer months.

Consider cabin options: For families without camping equipment, several locations offer cabin rentals. At Evergreen Park RV Resort, cabins provide comfort during shoulder seasons. "The campground is right in the middle of Amish Country so there's plenty of beautiful scenery, lots of shopping, wonderful roadside produce and cheese stands," Bob R. explains.

Tips from RVers

Overnight accessibility: Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds provides simple overnight parking for travelers. "Pulled in around midnight on a Wednesday and there were just two other vans parked overnight. Plenty of space if you just need to crash," shares Frank G. These basic accommodations lack many amenities but serve as convenient stopping points.

Electric hookup options: For RV camping near Berea, Ohio, electrical service varies between locations. American Wilderness Campground offers both 30-amp and 50-amp service at designated sites. Vermilion Valley Ohio Turnpike RV Lot provides electric-only hookups with a dump station at the exit, sufficient for overnight stays without full service needs.

Site spacing considerations: Many RV parks place sites close together, particularly in older facilities. "Only gave a 4 because sites were fairly close," explains Mike A. about Countryside Campground. Request end sites or locations near green space when making reservations for more privacy between camping units.
