Best RV Parks & Resorts near Voorheesville, NY

Several RV campgrounds surround the Voorheesville area, offering diverse options for motorhome travelers. Thompson's Lake Campground at Thacher State Park provides electric hookups with both 30 and 50-amp service, accommodating larger rigs with spacious pull-through sites available April through October. Schodack Island State Park Campground features big-rig friendly sites with full hookups and a convenient sanitary dump station. Alpine Lake RV Resort in Corinth maintains 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections for extended stays, while Camp Catskills RV Park offers 40 designated RV sites with electric and water hookups. "The sites are amongst the most spacious I've ever seen. RV sites offer 30/50 amp electricity," noted one visitor at Schodack Island.

During peak summer months, advance reservations are essential as most parks reach capacity, particularly those closest to Albany. While some parks remain open year-round like Autumn Moon Campground, most observe seasonal schedules from May through mid-October. Cell service varies throughout the region, with visitors reporting 1-3 bars of ATT and Verizon at Schodack Island—sufficient for basic work tasks but with occasional buffering during streaming. Pet policies differ between parks; many require physical vaccination records rather than just tags. Dump stations are typically positioned at park exits, though several parks like Arrowhead Marina & RV Park offer full sewer hookups at individual sites. Between heavily wooded natural settings and more developed park-like environments, the campgrounds accommodate different preferences for motorhome setup and privacy.

    Glimmerglass State Park Campground

    Small Campground Close to Attractions

Upon arrival we were surprised by the limited amount of sites, especially after coming from larger state parks. It wasn't necessarily a bad things for it to be small, but it seemed isolated from the beach, hiking trails, and other unique experiences. Our site(#31) faced directly to site#6 from the other loop. If you are traveling with another group, I would recommend booking these two sites. There is a small, hop-able, stream that runs in between them. Verizon cell service worked well and I was able to work remotely with video calls from our RV. We do have a Pepwave BR1 Max Pro to boost cell signal. We would stay here again to visit Cooperstown and Ommegang.

    Blue Mountain Campground

    Family friendly/ rocky tent campsite’s

Located in the Catskills. This is a family friendly there’s bathrooms/showers playground, pool, potable water and a outdoor pavilion. Located near hiking in the Catskills and 15 mins to Woodstock.

The tent site are very richly and uneven, it was very hard to pitch a tent. When it rains theres a horrible smell across the campground.

    Schodack Island State Park Campground

    Spacious State Park

I’ve yet to have a bad experience at a state park. They are always better maintained and are typically more beautiful and interactive than national park campgrounds and even most RV parks.

The sites are amongst the most spacious I’ve ever seen. RV sites offer 30/50 amp electricity. There are several hiking trails, a bike trail, a really awesome playground, boat dock, and lots of picnicking.

The bathrooms are clean. The showers are large, but they do operate on a push system where you can’t adjust the pressure, temp, or how long the water comes out, so just be aware of that. Lots of water fill ups in the campground. Dump station on the way out. Two different book exchanges. Mostly filled with Danielle Steele, which is not my preference, but maybe someone will spice it up in the future.

ATT and Verizon fluctuate between 1-3 bars. It was enough for me to work - downloading files, sending emails, and conducting non-video zoom calls. At night we were able to stream with just a little buffering needed throughout.

Lots of bunnies, weasels, chipmunks, birds, and butterflies. Plenty of space to walk the dog. Be sure to bring your dogs rabies records!! They don’t let you in with just the tag, it has to be the paper records. We’re full time so not a problem as it’s always with me, but they are very strict on rabies requirements

    Definitely recommend.

    Krawczyk Farm

    Beautiful property

Dolores had great communication with us, and we should have followed her written email instructions rather than rely upon the Get Directions link on The Dyrt which took us to the wrong location. We were here for just an overnight. While we found the concrete pad on which to park, we were unable to get onto it with our travel trailer because of the tight parameters in which to manuever. We were, however, able to level-up on the gravel drive next to it and plug into the electric. Next morning we were able to see how we could have possibly gotten onto the pad by circling around through the *wet* grassy field and pulling through onto the pad.  Dolores was apologetic that she wasn't there to help us understand the process.  It is a beautiful property and convenient to town.

    Glimmerglass State Park Campground

Majestic views. This parked has earned it's name for that view!

It is pet friendly. We stayed with our 3 small children. Enjoyed bike riding through the park. water was beautiful. Lots of waterfront access. It was during the off season in early spring but still very well maintained and clean. Surprised to see so many campers there during the spring when we pulled in but not after seeing the views. Park is nice and easy to navigate with a 30ft travel trailer behind me. My husband loved the fishing! My children loved the water and trails. We visited the Baseball National Hall of Fame, Fenimore Art Museum and the Farmers Museum nearby in Cooperstown. This was our family's favorite spring break vacation ever. Showers had hot water and we were allowed to sue our generator no problem. Also my husband & I went to Brewery Omegang and had the best tasting ever!

    Savoy Mountain State Forest Campground

Great campground, though hard to find

Savoy mountain campground is a very nice state park camp, but don’t rely on gps to get you there it will put you on the wrong end of the park in the middle of a rural neighborhood. The park is so hard to find that not even a cell signal can get there, if your looking to unplug this is a great spot!Use the directions provided on the website, they are far more reliable. Very clean park, convenient clean restroom/shower building and helpful staff. There are RV sites and there is a dump station/potable water fill station available at the park entrance, but no RV hook ups of any kind. Sites are spacious and many shaded sites have decent privacy though open field sites are also available, bear boxes are provided at each site as this is black Bear country. Ample hiking to be done in the park and you can access the Mohawk trail right from the campground, the Appalachian trail and Mt Greylock is a short drive away.

    Spacious Skies Woodland Hills

    A peaceful place with character.

My first visit to New York state was amazing, largely in part due to my campsite at the Woodland Hills campground. I had a back in site and was having problems with my camper, and they were able to change to a pull through at time of check in. However, it was in early May and before the summer crowds. The pond has a fountain which sounds like a small waterfall at night, and wildflowers were in bloom. Very nice bathrooms and showers, and my dog loved the dog park.
