The facility maintains pet-friendly sites with electric hookups, water access, and picnic tables where dogs can remain with their owners throughout their stay. Several sites feature fire rings where pets and owners can relax together in the evenings. Campground data and reviews near Ransomville, New York is regularly updated on The Dyrt. While bathrooms need maintenance with warped stall doors that don't close properly, the family-friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices make it accessible for campers with animals. Full hookup sites for RVs provide comfortable accommodations for extended stays with pets.

Located approximately 30 minutes from Niagara Falls, Four Mile Creek State Park Campground provides secluded pet-friendly sites that offer privacy from neighboring campers. The park requires proof of rabies vaccination for all dogs. Nearby HTR Niagara Campground allows pets at both tent and cabin accommodations, creating flexibility for pet owners with different camping preferences. Dogs must be leashed throughout most campgrounds in the area, with designated exercise areas available at certain facilities. Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA maintains a dedicated dog play area where pets can exercise off-leash. Mosquitoes can be problematic at certain campgrounds during summer months, requiring preventative measures for both humans and pets. The proximity to Lake Ontario provides opportunities for dog-friendly shoreline walks where Toronto's skyline is visible on clear days.

      Cherry Hill Campground

Great camping sites, Hammock Camping Available, Incredible Amenities

Things I enjoyed about Cherry Hill Campground:

The owners are awesome, approachable, and helpful.

Many sites are separated by hedges, are drive-in sites yet still close to water, restrooms, and shower even a microwave.

There are nature yoga classes and they bring bands in to perform. It is right across from Darian Lake Six Flags theme park. And dogs are welcome without a pet fee.

The only thing I didn't enjoy was a neighbor across the hedge who felt a need to play his music loud and continual, (we were so lucky the music was agreeable to our tastes). Music is supposed to stop at midnight. Call the office and the neighbors turn off the music until starting up again at 2:30 am.

The price we pay for hyper convenience in camping and of course, it is a dice roll and probably not a problem during the week.

      Cinderella Motel & Campsite

      Served it’s purpose

Quiet campground with close campsites. Nice grassy area for pets. We were parked directly behind the motel. Dated facilities. 12 minutes from the Falls 20 minutes from Canada. We stayed 3 nights and personally would not stay longer than that. There was some sketchy folks with obvious drug activity inside the motel who on occasion would come out back. They never bothered us but not super comforting.

      Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

      Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

      Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground

      Psychotic Management

If you have any concerns about their park or services they will immediately avoid you like the black plague!!! It's almost like they have things to hide, or don't want to justly return not even $1 that they are not entitled to. Running away from customers says a lot about their lack of professionalism, level of maturity, lack of integrity after they get paid, and the possible false statements they are making in their advertisements. To make a long story short, I did not receive all the services that they were supposed to deliver after paying them. The petting zoo is also questionable and one that should be looked at by PETA. Never going here again.

      Lakeside State Park Campground

      Clean, friendly, beautiful

We stayed here 5/2019 on Loop C #30. While we were right next to the bathroom, we really weren't bothered by noise or traffic, and our site still felt quite private. We could easily see Lake Ontario through the trees, and the air was filled with the sound of birds. The space between our site and the next was a bit muddy, but the sites themselves were dry. Electric power is at every site, and both 30 and 50 amp are available. Pets are welcome in certain loops, and there is a well kept playground. Staff were super friendly, and there is a safety officer who patrols at night. We checked in well after the office closed (it's open until 9pm), but called ahead and it wasn't an issue at all. Plenty of farm stands around, but grocery stores will take about 30 minutes to get to. Definitely looking forward to staying again.

      Golden Hill State Park Campground

      Quiet Campground Over Lake Ontario

We camped at Golden Hill over the weekend of July 24-26, 2020. Due to COVID, advance reservations are required to book a spot at any NY state campground. We had site 47 in loop C, which was across the road from the lake view sites. I recommend sites 40-45 for lake-front views. Loops A and B were more crowded and more suitable to RV trailers and rigs (we were camping in a pop-up camper). Site 47 was large and had a few trees. The campfire ring was right against the pad, which made it difficult to position our pop-up so that it was away from the fire ring.

Things to consider: There are 2 bathrooms in the campground, one near the A-B loops and one near the entrance. It was quite a hike in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom from our site. Some sites in the A-B loops are right next to each other, and we preferred the space for the sites in the C loop.

Wonderful things: The views are spectacular, particularly at sunset. The campground was quiet at night. The Niagara Wine trail is close to this campground, and Niagara Falls is about a 50 minute drive away. We hiked Devil's Hole and Whirlpool State Parks on this camping trip. The showers in the bathrooms were phenomenal - very clean with hot water and a private dressing area next to the shower. Showers were ADA compliant and had shower seats.

    Guide to Ransomville

Camping near Ransomville, New York offers access to Lake Ontario shorelines where Toronto's skyline can be seen approximately 32 miles across the water on clear days. The region experiences warm, humid summers with temperatures averaging 80°F in July and August, while spring camping often requires extra layers for nighttime temperatures that can drop into the 40s. Campgrounds in this area typically operate from May through mid-October when freezing temperatures become common.

    What to do

Lake Ontario sunsets: Four Mile Creek State Park Campground offers prime viewing opportunities for sunsets over Lake Ontario. "The sunset views over the lake each evening were spectacular," notes one visitor. "The sunsets you'll catch on Lake Ontario are some of the best you'll see," confirms another camper.

Fishing spots: Daisy Barn Campground provides fishing access with no special permits required. A visitor mentions it's "right on Lake Ontario. You could even see Toronto from the shore," making it an ideal spot for shoreline fishing with panoramic views.

Hiking trails: Four Mile Creek offers natural paths for walking. "Great sites, secluded from neighbors. Nice trails to hike," reports one visitor. The trails are well-maintained and suitable for casual hikers of all skill levels.

Niagara Falls access: Located 30 minutes from the falls, most campgrounds provide convenient access to this natural wonder. "About 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. Staff inside office were very friendly-gave many trail suggestions and good tips for navigating the city," explains one camper at Four Mile Creek State Park.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: HTR Niagara Campground receives consistent praise for cleanliness. "This was the most perfect family campground we've been to. Very clean, everything was new and updated. Lots of bath house and some with family showering areas," reports one visitor. The maintenance standards extend throughout the property.

Family-friendly atmosphere: Multiple campgrounds cater to families with children. "This is a friendly and clean state park campground where you can choose your own environmental experience. Camping with kids and enjoy interacting with other camping families? Then the 100 loop with large playground is for you," advises a camper at Four Mile Creek.

Wildlife viewing: Local campgrounds offer opportunities to observe native wildlife. "The setting is beautiful, the rangers were friendly, and the playgrounds are very nice. The camping loop roads were nicely paved and great for bike-riding. The lake was simply beautiful," describes a visitor.

Site privacy: Four Mile Creek State Park Campground offers secluded camping spots. "Well maintained campground. We camped under some mature trees that provided plenty of shade," reports one camper. Another notes, "Great sites, secluded from neighbors."

    What you should know

Seasonal mosquitoes: Summer months bring mosquitoes, particularly after rainfall. "The only issues we had were the absurd amount of mosquitoes literally all day long. They were relentless," warns a camper at Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA. Bring repellent and consider screened shelters.

Limited swimming options: Despite proximity to Lake Ontario, swimming access is restricted at many locations. "You can't swim off the ledges, but this place is worth it," notes a camper at Four Mile Creek. Another visitor clarifies: "There is no swimming in the lake at this campground."

Varying site conditions: Site quality varies significantly between campgrounds and within the same facility. "There is a mix of shaded and wide open sites," explains one camper. Another adds, "Many sites were grass only" while others have "a gravel driveway and pad."

Pet vaccination requirements: For pet friendly camping near Ransomville, New York, bring proof of rabies vaccination. "Dog friendly but bring proof of rabies vac," advises a camper at Four Mile Creek State Park Campground.

    Tips for camping with families

Choose loop-specific locations: At Four Mile Creek, select your campsite based on desired experience. "Camping with kids and enjoy interacting with other camping families? Then the 100 loop with large playground is for you! Interested in a less social scene, then the 200 loop or the 300 loop might be for you," advises one experienced visitor.

Plan for weather changes: Lake Ontario creates unpredictable weather patterns with sudden temperature drops. Pack extra layers even in summer months when evening temperatures can fall rapidly.

Utilize free parking benefits: Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort provides excellent value with included perks. "About 30 minutes from Niagara Falls. Comes with state park parking pass to park free and access to town shuttle," notes a visitor, which can save substantial costs when visiting attractions.

Book popular weekends early: "This is a very large and popular campground, and to my surprise it didn't empty out much during the week," reports a Four Mile Creek camper. Holiday weekends often fill months in advance, especially for sites with electrical hookups.

    Tips from RVers

Electrical options: Various campgrounds offer different electrical capacities. "Electrical hook up, worked great for our RV. Water and dump site available on grounds," notes a visitor to Four Mile Creek. Verify amperage before booking as options range from 30-50 amp service.

Level site selection: Request specific sites when possible. "Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare," reports a camper at Cinderella Motel & Campsite, though they caution "don't expect to open your awnings in most sites."

Full hookup availability: Many locations offer complete services. "The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites," explains a camper at AA Royal Motel & Campground. This varies by campground, so confirm before arrival.

Tree clearance concerns: Some sites have overhanging branches that may interfere with large RVs. "We were in #18 which has a tree that made it difficult to get the awning out and our slide out felt intrusive on the neighbor," notes one RVer about their experience.
