    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Campgrounds around Butler, Missouri provide varied accommodation options within a rural Midwest setting. The Montrose Missouri Conservation Area offers free dispersed camping with primitive facilities and lake access for both tent and RV camping. Show-Me Rest RV Park provides a more developed experience with full hookups, suitable for larger rigs and extended stays. These facilities represent the spectrum of camping experiences available in western Missouri, ranging from basic public conservation areas to private RV parks with amenities.

Road conditions and accessibility vary seasonally throughout the Butler area, with most sites accessible via paved or maintained gravel roads. "A large grassy area with plenty of room to set up a tent or camper. Right off the road, so no dirt roads to traverse," noted one visitor about Montrose Conservation Area. Most campgrounds remain open year-round, though some conservation areas have seasonal restrictions during hunting seasons, particularly after October 15th. Sites typically don't require advance reservations except for the private RV parks, which often accept same-day arrivals. Weather conditions can impact camping experiences, with humid summers and occasionally severe storms possible during spring and summer months.

The conservation areas feature lakefront camping that attracts anglers and wildlife enthusiasts. A camper described the Montrose area as having "beautiful scenery and with a couple boats makes for a great weekend." Wildlife sightings are common, with visitors reporting encounters with raccoons, beavers, cranes, deer, and other animals. The area's pit toilets are frequently mentioned in reviews as basic but functional, with cleanliness varying significantly. Cell service is generally available but can be spotty in more remote conservation areas. The private RV parks like Show-Me Rest offer more reliable amenities, with one visitor noting they have "very friendly and accommodating owners" and "low rates." Most campsites near Butler offer some shade, particularly in the conservation areas where pecan and walnut trees provide natural canopy during summer months.

      i49 Rv Park - Missouri

      RV Park

We have been here since February. We really don't have any complaints so far. They have a laundry mat, pay for showers, they have a small pond where you can fish and a small playground. They also have a small fenced in area for dogs.

      Sparrowfoot

      Nice quiet spot

This is a nice quiet campground. 10 minute drive into town, plenty of shops and things to do not far away. There aren't many things to do in the campground. The campground hosts regularly drive around to check on things and fix problems quickly.

      Longview Lake Campground

      Nice county campground

We stayed here in April 2026.  Beautiful area, clean restroom.  Provided easy access to the Area, we stopped to visit friends.  We would stay here again.

      Louisburg Middle Creek Lake

      Beautiful and Free

Wonderful free campsites overlooking a lake. There is a boat dock and outhouse. It is primitive and you need to pack your trash out, but it’s beautiful, free, and not far off the highway.

Montrose Missouri Conservation Area Dispersed Camping

      Good little spot

Was a nice little off the way spot with a couple camping spots on the lake. The grass/clover was super soft to walk in bare foot no stickers. Great spot for families. Not the worst for bugs but mosquitoes can’t be helped. Toilets could use a good cleaning but weren’t the worst I still used em. Some broken glass on the beach but over all was a good spot to camp

      Lake Jacomo - Fleming Park

      Busy campground

I’m the attendant. Nice campground but very busy on weekends. A few sites have a view of Lake Jacomo.

Arrowhead hunting: This unique activity provides an unexpected archaeological experience at some sites. At Sparrowfoot, one camper mentioned, "One of the locals stopped by my site to look for arrowheads. Apparently, she has found a lot in the area so that's a good activity if the kids are bored."

Some sites had been receantly redone, new grass, rock pads and elec pedestals.
