Best RV Parks & Resorts near Riverview, FL

Riverview offers several RV resorts with full hookups within 20 miles of the city center. Hidden River RV Resort provides spacious sites with 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections, maintaining a 4.5/5 rating among reviewers. Lazydays RV Resort in nearby Seffner features concrete pads, a heated pool, and market access, though sites are positioned close together. Sun Lake RV Resort in Ruskin includes electric, water, and sewer hookups with big rig access. Encore Winter Quarters Manatee in Bradenton offers lakeside sites, though proximity to I-75 creates consistent traffic noise. "Sites are cramped and there are permanent cabins in between sites. A big lake and a pool," noted one visitor.

Most RV resorts in the Tampa Bay area remain open year-round, accommodating seasonal and full-time residents. Navigating into some parks requires careful planning, as several reviews mention tight turns and narrow interior roads that complicate maneuvering larger rigs. Terra Ceia RV Resort provides a convenient base for exploring Tampa, Sarasota, and Gulf beaches with full hookup sites and a dog park. Dump stations are available at all reviewed parks, though water quality varies between locations. Cell service is generally strong throughout the region, with T-Mobile users reporting 5G connectivity at some parks. Laundry facilities are limited, so travelers should plan accordingly for extended stays. Pet policies vary by location, with most parks permitting dogs but enforcing strict leash requirements.

    LeLynn RV Resort

Lakefront RV Pitstop Stone's Throw From I4

Located just 45 minutes SW of the Magical Kingdom conveniently resting just a stone’s throw from I4, LeLynn RV Resort is a spacious, pet-friendly property that is definitely more geared for the RV driving or 5th wheel toting crowd. Surrounded by lakes in every direction – Little Lake Agnes sits directly west of the property, with its bigger sister Lake Agnes just further northwest, Lake Tennessee to the southwest, Lake Juliana to the south and Lake Mattie to the southeast, while Lake Helene can be found to the north and a smaller unnamed lake due east a smidge.  If you were surrounded by any more water, you'd be starring opposite Kevin Costner in 'Waterworld!'

While LeLynn RV Resort will accommodate you for about as long as you’d like, this place impressed upon me more of a layover than an actual destination. The community that we discovered here was incredibly friendly and inviting, but nearly everyone we met was enroute to some other, better place in the great Sunshine state ... and quite a few folks look like they have no business moving from this place any time soon. This RV depot somewhat lives up to its name as a resort as it does offer an inground pool that is lake facing (again, not that challenging to do here in Central Florida) along with decent (not excellent) restrooms & shower facilities, laundry-O-mat, boat ramp, metered LP gas, dump station, shuffleboard and horseshoes along with WiFi and cable TV options. If you desire kayaking, canoeing or fishing, you need only access the nearest lake of your choosing. There’s 220 sites with FHU’s offering 30 / 50 amp electric, water and sewage.

Insider’s tips? Here’s a handful: (1) IMHO the best sites are those that are lakefront on the property’s northwestern most perimeter; (2) While the parking accommodations are concrete pads that will provide a nice level plain for the stay along with a solid accompanying patio, there’s virtually no trees and hence shade anywhere on the property, so while that might not matter for a single night, if staying longer, you’ll likely want to bring your own shade with you; (3) Should you need to load up on supplies while on your trip, just due south of LeLynn RV Resort is a Publix that will cater to all of your grocery needs; and (4) While you’ll feel like you’re out in the boondocks in these parts (and trust me, you are), there’s a number of great little eateries like The Back Porch, Frescos Southern Kitchen, Purple Pit Stop, Polk City BBQ Co., Savage Tacos and Old Man Frank’s to choose from.

    Happy Camping!

    Plantation Oaks

    Basic mobile home/RV park

We stayed there during the Tampa Show. Last minute decision. Park has a lot of long term RV's and many of them older. Dog friendly and has a decent sized dog run. We had a pull thru spot that was plenty long enough to leave our dolly hooked up to our 33' class A, and still have plenty of room to park in front. Although it was very narrow and I was a little concerned about my leveling jacks sinking in when it rained due to it being all grass. Fortunately it didn't rain much. There were cable hook ups, but I couldn't get a signal. Not sure about wifi, because I just used my hot spot. Most, if not all, of the short term spaces had picknick tables. Overall just a fairly quiet place to park with hookups and not too far off the highway.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort and Cabana Cabins Auburndale

    Just okay

First, this is a really nice RV campground. It's new and has some nice amenities. That being said, I don't think full timers like us are their audience. Pros- nice big pull through sites, nice dog park, food trucks on weekend nights(at least while we were there), and a bar on site. Cons- it's very loud, not really close to any attractions, wifi was fast but frequently went out, highway noise, incessant loud construction noise every single weekday, you have to wear these bright green hospital type bracelets on the property, they charge$10 a visitor even if they are just going to your campsite to hang out and not use the amenities, they say they are family friendly but are okay with offensive political flags being flown. They played loud country music during the day most of the weekdays we were there. One day they started before 9 am. On Friday night, the music from the tiki bar area was so loud that we couldn't hear the movie we were trying to watch in our trailer with the windows up. It was the same the next night with a live band. I think this place is nice if you are looking for a place to party on the weekend, but not a relaxing resort like they advertise. For the price I paid I expect to not have construction noise every day. We likely won't be back. We camped at Cabana Club RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Palmetto Ridge Campground — Myakka River State Park

    Enormous park

I’m staying in the Palmetto Ridge loop which is the only paved loop & I think the only one w/sewer. The Big Flats & Old Prairie loops are gravel road, tight, no privacy & very small sites like for popups, vans or small campers. The Palmetto Ridge pull thrus are gigantic. I would say the vegetation gives semi privacy but they aren’t on top of each other so it’s not like you’re looking right at your neighbor. There is a picnic table & a fire ring. Gravel sites but pretty level. My site was 50 amp. Not sure how many are. Bath house & laundry facility appears clean. Pet friendly. The outpost is literally like 3 miles into the park down from the entrance & Palmetto loop. The store was nice & there was a food truck. It was a little spendy but good food. The river was low so the kayak rental & boat tours were shut down. Tons of great hiking & even some elevated bridges for site seeing. Tons of gators, birds, deer etc. There is also a scenic drive in the park, a “fisherman’s loop” & a few picnic areas. There are cabins to rent but I didn’t see them. Also never saw a playground if you have kids. Very dark & quiet at night.

    Horseshoe Cove RV Resort

    Great short or long stay

I live local and have been staying here in the pull through area a month until I transition to 100% travel trailer life. I have 2 50 lb+ dogs and there are many other people with dogs, plus a dog park. Park is very well kept, beautiful gym, pool, hot tub, and private island on backside to fish and other games like horseshoes. Love this place! Maintenance is A M A Z I N G!!!!!!!! I will be staying here again for short and extended periods and feel more than comfortable to recommend to friends and family. Laundry facilities and bathrooms are fine too. Dryers dry a full load of towels in one cycle, was pretty impressive! Also plenty of area to ride a bike a couple times around the park. It is also close to gas, grocery store and really good restaurants. Two thumbs up!!!

    Hickory Point RV Park

Nice, quiet, well maintained, friendly, wooded CG on the water

We have a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and stayed in site 132 for 3 days in mid April. The CG is very clean, well maintained, but relatively expensive. The CG is a mixture of long-term and transient folks. The roads are paved, but the sites are sandy, shelly gravel. The staff is friendly and very helpful. They have beach chairs near the water and a fire pit that they lit every evening near sunset. In addition to the Bark Park area, there is a nice wooded area where you can walk your dog as well.

AT&T coverage was pretty good, with 3-4 bars of 5G service and speeds up to 11 MB/s. The CG has a lot of trees, but the sites in the front of the park are pretty open. We had no line-of-site to the DISH satellites, but did have an open view north, so Starlink usable, but the CG had WiFi and we were right across from the antenna, so we didn’t use Starlink. The CG WiFi achieved speeds up to 8 MB/s.

    Colt Creek State Park Campground

    Very Nice Campground

This campground is obviously quite new.  Spacious and open sites that are very big rig friendly.  Pads are L-shaped to accommodate the picnic table, yet because of the spacioiusness there's room to pitch a screen tent in the grass.

The demerits for us were (1) laundry is coin op only (no credit card), surprising for such a new park; and (2) no plastic bag dispenseries for dog clean up.  Such amenities are nice for extended stays.

    Edward Medard Park

    Gem of the County

What a beautiful well kept facility near suburbia. Just a short drive from Tampa and Lakeland areas this first come first served facility is a favorite of locals. Full service for RV's (even a dump station. Clean, monitored bathroom facilities close to lots of additional activities! Kayaking and fishing on the lake is a blast! Frisbee Golf (this is an advanced course) equestrian and hiking trails, picnic and playground areas. Pet friendly but there were more than a few stray cats when we were there (a problem the rangers are trying to address). Midweek is best time to visit as weekends fill fast (usually by Thursday night)

    Plantation Oaks

    Nice peaceful place

It’s a great basic park. It does have a nice size dog run and very pet friendly as long as you pick up afterwards. The office manager Christina along with Melisa the maintenance manager has been nothing but fantastic since day one. After spending a few months here it seems to be a safe friendly environment.. I highly recommend it, it’s close to shopping and some good restaurants yet it’s not in the middle of the hustle.

Guide to Riverview

RV camping near Riverview, Florida provides central access to Tampa Bay's attractions within a 20-mile radius. Riverview sits along the eastern shore of Tampa Bay with minimal elevation changes, making campground navigation easier for larger rigs. Summer temperatures frequently exceed 90°F with high humidity, while winter months bring milder conditions that attract seasonal campers.

What to do

Beach access opportunities: Terra Ceia RV Resort positions campers within driving distance to multiple shorelines. "This place is 20 minutes away from several beaches and the TB Rays stadium, the Trop. The facilities were clean and we have a view of the pond with ducks," reports Keith F. from Encore Terra Ceia.

Swimming options: Most RV parks in the area maintain pools as an alternative to beach trips. At Encore Winter Quarters Manatee, "Winter Quarters Manatee is a beautiful resort with a lot of activities and amenities (which include 2 heated pools and a spa)," according to Jean M.

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds provide on-site fishing access. "If you like to fish, there are nice bass in the ponds," notes Derick B. about Winter Quarters Pasco RV Resort.

What campers like

Convenient shopping access: Many Riverview area campgrounds sit near essential services. Brandi M. from Winter Quarters Manatee appreciates this aspect: "Very convenient location and close to Walmart and Costco. We will definitely be back!"

Dog-friendly facilities: Pet owners find accommodations throughout the region. "They have a nice size, fenced-in dog park with a dog walking path, so bring your furry friends!" shares Danna D. about Encore Terra Ceia.

Concrete pads: Several parks offer solid foundations for RV setup. At Pleasant Lake RV Resort, William R. found "Well maintained campground with quite a few year-round residents it was pretty (for a suburban area), clean, quiet, and conveniently located."

What you should know

Tight navigation: Interior roads at some parks present challenges for larger rigs. At Lazydays RV Resort, MickandKarla W. noted: "The CG is old and needs to be upgraded to better accommodate today's larger rigs. According to their website, they will close down on 1 April 2023 for renovations."

Seasonal populations: Winter months bring significant changes in campground availability. "Spent three weeks here in February and March. The sites are close and there are permanent cabins in between sites," explains Frances F. about Winter Quarters Manatee.

Water quality concerns: Some campers report issues with local water systems. At Winter Quarters Manatee, T S. advises: "Don't drink the water here."

Tips for camping with families

Pool screening: Florida's insects can be problematic, making screened facilities valuable. "The screened in pool was heated and nice," mentions Brandie B. about Lazydays RV Resort, providing protection from mosquitoes during swimming time.

Security considerations: Some parks offer better security features than others. Rachel C. from Winter Quarters Manatee observed, "First impression, the front desk worker was very informative and quite kind. However, there is no security gate. As a momma with young kiddos, that does make me nervous."

Insect preparation: Bug protection is essential, especially near water features. "This is a mosquito heaven!!! Being bug spray or candles! You will see a large amount of bugs in your area…," warns Julia Marie H. about Encore Vacation Village.

Tips from RVers

Campground layout assessment: Understanding the layout before booking helps secure better sites. Mindy K. from Hidden River RV Resort recommends: "When you first enter, there are several back in camping spots before you reach the office/activity center. The middle section is a large group of permanent trailers and some are a bit if an eye sore... Finally, the best area, in my opinion, is the lower area by the river and pool."

Electrical hookup positioning: Power connection locations vary between parks. Karen from Winter Quarters Manatee points out: "The electrical (30 amp and 50 amp) was farther back than the water, which wasn't a huge deal but might be inconvenient for some."

Budget planning: Prices fluctuate significantly between parks and seasons. Captmatt at Sun Lake RV Resort shares: "This one tops them all. Most expensive night after 8,000 miles. And we are less than 200 miles from home. Maybe a 'demand and supply' issue but these tiny spots and very tight roads with no room for vehicles it is priced way out of line."
