Long Point Park Campground accommodates pet owners on multiple waterfront sites with fire rings and picnic tables. Located in Melbourne Beach, this year-round facility permits dogs throughout its tent and RV camping areas. Sebastian Inlet State Park Campground also welcomes pets across its tent, RV, cabin, and glamping sites. The park maintains clean facilities, though pet owners should note the high-sulfur well water at Long Point. Most campgrounds in the area enforce standard leash policies and waste cleanup requirements. Sites are generally spacious enough for pets to relax at camp, with Brevard County Park Wickham Campground offering expansive grounds for walking dogs.

Wickham Park's extensive trail system provides ideal opportunities for exercising pets, with numerous walking paths throughout the property. The park features both wooded areas and open spaces suitable for daily pet walks. Nearby beaches offer additional recreation options, with Jetty Park Campground located close to Cape Canaveral's shoreline access points. Local veterinary services can be found in Melbourne, approximately 15 minutes from most campgrounds. Pet owners should prepare for seasonal mosquito activity when camping with animals, especially at waterfront locations. Wildlife encounters are possible, particularly at parks bordering natural areas like Sebastian Inlet State Park, requiring pets to remain supervised. Most facilities maintain quiet hours that apply to pet noise restrictions.

      Jetty Park Campground

      Bad

No dogs allowed and they like many Florida parks should have some way for Fl residence to actually be able to camp in Florida but no they don’t

      Super chill place

Great place for a stop over. Needed a place to hangout for a few weeks. This place fit the bill. Dog park, little restaurant, general store, pool, basketball court and lots of shaded spots (my fave when in Florida) would definitely recommend.

      Sonrise Palms RV

Peaceful Pocket on the Space Coast

There is something instantly calming about pulling into Sonrise Palms RV Park (you will want to note that misspelled 'Sonrise' otherwise you won't find this place on your GPS), tucked just off I-95 in Cocoa, where the pace slows down and the setting feels more like a quiet neighborhood packed with RVs than a busy campground, with spacious, mostly level sites, palm trees and greenery scattered throughout along with an EZ layout that makes settling in feel effortless. With around 80 to 90 full hookup sites, a heated pool, clean bathhouse and laundry, and even small touches like a dog park and canal fishing, this spot has all the essentials covered without feeling overwhelming. One evening, we grabbed a casual dinner nearby called The Grass Shack and came back to let the boys unwind at the pool while my hubby and I walked the grounds, spotting little bits of wildlife and enjoying that warm Florida night air before heading back for a cozy wind-down at our site. I would absolutely recommend this campground for families looking for a relaxed, low-key stay thanks to its quiet atmosphere, very clean bathroom and shower facilities as well as EZ access to nearby beaches, rocket launches and Space Coast adventures just a short drive away.

      Manatee Hammock Campground

Best place to see a launch!

THIS quaint little park is so delightful. With so many gorgeous water birds and trees. The park sits off the Indian River and is the perfect place to catch a launch. The are also very dog friendly and have a dog park. The dock is also the perfect place to catch some redfish or snook. Had a wonderful time in this tucked away little spot.

Management is a nightmare for long term. Save your trouble and go elsewhere

We sold our house in West Palm Beach and relocated to Vero Beach for work, choosing to stay in our RV at this park while awaiting our new home to be built. Initially, we were excited, but the management at this park turned out to be a nightmare. Despite the reasonable and straightforward rules, we faced constant harassment. We have two dogs that we walk multiple times a day. There are no trash cans or doggy bags on the property except in the dog park, so we took the initiative to buy an outdoor trash can and a bulk supply of dog waste bags to ensure we cleaned up after our pets. Yet, we received weekly notices accusing us of not cleaning up after our dogs. Each time I went to the main office to discuss these notices, I was told to“just ignore it” as it was likely a“pesty neighbor.” Additionally, when family visited us for the day and parked at our RV slot, we received notices about parking violations. After discussing this with the office, we were advised to have our visitors park in the lot by the restaurant, which we did. Despite this, we continued to receive notices for various infractions, such as improper water hookup and not stopping completely in the neighborhood. This felt like borderline harassment. As responsible adults who strive to follow regulations, we were perplexed and frustrated by these continuous and unfounded accusations. Each time we sought clarification from the office, they dismissed our concerns, blaming"nosey neighbors" and suggesting neighborly disputes were at play. Ultimately, we were given a 30-day notice to vacate the property. This experience is particularly disappointing because we had suggested this park for our upcoming family reunion, which would have brought 47 rentals for a week. Now, I can't wait to leave this place. For anyone considering a short-term stay, this park may suffice. However, I strongly advise against bringing pets unless you want to be harassed and falsely accused. For those seeking a long-term rental, avoid this park at all costs, as you will face weekly harassment. Furthermore, we had several packages confirmed as delivered to the“receptionist/front desk,” which mysteriously went missing, apparently mishandled by the staff. Our initial excitement to be part of the Road Runner community has completely dissipated. I am eager to leave and will never return. I do not recommend this park and will be warning others. 0/10.---

      Love this park, Dog friendly

It is so nice, right on the Indian river. There is a large fenced Dog Park on the riverfront. Near Titusville, FL. You can see Kennedy Space Center across the water.

      Tent folk: bring earplugs

Arrived here for a three-night tent stay at spot 153. The campground is easily accessible from the highway, and a breeze to check in. Friendly staff. Dumpsters behind the main office. All roads are one-way counterclockwise. The bathroom and laundry room are about 100 meters from spot 153. Both are clean. There's a nice pavilion overlooking the water inside the eastern loop. There's a good size, fenced-in, leash-free dog park next to the water. The water views are beautiful at sunrise. There's a pier for fishing and just serene eastern observation toward Cape Canaveral. There's a kayak launch ramp as well.

Spot 153 was perfectly partially shaded, with a mix of sand and grass, and it was level. The only critters seen here are playful squirrels. RV spots can be quite close to each other, but not many of their inhabitants were seen outside during these chilly, mid-December days when the temperature dipped to 40F at night, and high 50's in the day. All spots have electric and picnic table. The water spigot at 153 was about two inches from the ground. Why?

The only downside of the campground is its proximity to railroad tracks and airport. The noise seemed to be constant on weekdays.

    What to do

Water sports at Sebastian Inlet State Park Campground: This location offers prime opportunities for fishing, surfing, and paddleboarding with direct ocean and inlet access. Wildlife viewing along the Banana River: Manatee Cove Family Campground at Patrick Air Force Base offers waterfront campsites where wildlife sightings are common. One visitor noted, "Located directly along the historic Banana River. Love the sound of reveille and taps as well as the sound of freedom as the C-130's and helicopters come in and out on the nearby runway."

Mountain biking and disc golf: Brevard County's trail systems provide extensive options for cycling enthusiasts. A camper at Wickham Park Campground commented, "It's a great place with lots of bike/walking paths and wide open, quiet spaces. Hope to take advantage of the fishing ponds, mountain bike trails and archery range in future visits."

Rocket launch viewing: The region offers unique opportunities to witness space launches from nearby Cape Canaveral. A visitor at Vero Beach Kamp mentioned, "Watched a rocket launch from our campsite," while Jetty Park campers often have front-row seats to the spectacle.

    What campers like

Waterfront access at multiple sites: Many campgrounds offer direct water access for boats and water toys. A visitor to Long Point Park Campground shared, "This is a county park with parking on the grass, great access to views and water. Lots of open areas in the middle though."

Fishing opportunities: The region offers diverse fishing environments from ocean to inland waterways. One Long Point Park visitor noted, "Pros: Location, price, wildlife, fishing, nice sites with tons of water access. Boat Ramp and trailer parking. Some sites have shore anchoring."

Hiking and nature trails: Several parks maintain trail systems through natural Florida environments. A Donald MacDonald Campground visitor reported, "The tent sites are a little small but most of them are shady and secluded with lots of trees and shrubs between! Good bathroom and shower, and lots of trails to explore."

Clean facilities: Many campgrounds maintain well-kept bathhouses and amenities. A Sebastian Inlet camper stated, "I can't say enough about the site and people that run this place. Bathrooms are spotless and the sites are perfect."

    What you should know

Insect preparation is essential: No-see-ums and mosquitoes are prevalent, particularly in evenings and near water. A Long Point visitor warned, "No-see-ums are almost unbearable in the evening. But that comes with the territory in Florida. Pack long-sleeves, pants, and serious bug spray."

Water quality varies by location: Some campgrounds have mineral-rich well water. A camper at Long Point noted, "50 amp service, no sewer, sulfer well drinking water."

Seasonal occupancy fluctuations: Winter brings significantly higher occupancy rates. A visitor to Donald MacDonald Campground mentioned, "It's small but has everything that a campground should have. Nice pier to fish off of, little nature trail, and a boat launch."

Limited privacy at some parks: Many campgrounds feature open layouts with minimal site separation. A Sebastian Inlet camper observed, "Nice camp ground for fishing and bringing the boat along. Some spots are tight in the front row. The back loop has a little more room."

    Tips for camping with families

Beach access considerations: Several campgrounds offer direct or nearby beach access. A Jetty Park Campground visitor noted, "For the past 3 years we have been going to the campground every year around August and have an amazing time! Sites can feel a little close but for the price and how close the beach is you seriously can't beat it!"

Educational opportunities: Space-related attractions provide learning experiences. One Jetty Park camper shared, "Staying out on the inlet, although primitive, does offer a bit more privacy compared to inside the campground. It also gives front row seats to the ships coming to port as well as any launches from cape Canaveral which are much more frequent now."

Water safety awareness: Parents should note tidal conditions at oceanfront locations. A Sebastian Inlet visitor mentioned, "We watched dolphins play at sunrise. We were parked right across from the water. My husband and the kids fished off the rocks."

Shade availability varies: Some sites offer better shade protection than others. A Wickham Park visitor commented, "Took my son camping this weekend to our hometown park. It's a great place with lots of bike/walking paths and wide open, quiet spaces."

    Tips from RVers

Site selection recommendations: For larger rigs, careful site selection is necessary. A visitor to Vero Beach Kamp suggested, "Sites are decent size. Lots of sites with shade. Close to Indian River and the beach. Close to restaurants and groceries."

Dump station timing: Plan dump station usage strategically to avoid congestion. A Long Point camper advised, "Waited inline to dump for 90 mins. Everyone leaving at 11am checkout. 2 dump stations."

Military base camping options: Active duty and retired military personnel have additional options. A visitor to Manatee Cove noted, "This Famcamp has 156 well maintained full-service sites with 30/50 amp capability and ten primitive camping sites along the beach front. Two shower houses and laundry facilities are clean and convenient to all campsites."
