More Tent / Walk-In Camping

The stream is nice, camping area is pretty small, maybe 3-4 tent sites. Drive in camping site is rutted and I didn’t feel comfortable driving van up into it. There were a few minor red flags; a large tent was set up in the back of the site, however no one ever showed up to occupy. Also a mule deer…

  • Camp access, too rutted for my van
  • Nice stream; some sites are not 100’ away.

Convenient & clean

We needed a hot shower and some comfort and found both here. It’s a bit pricey but has all the hookups which we don’t need. We had wifi but a weak signal and not secure. Bath house was clean and pleasant. It’s on a hillside above the river and highway. Sheltered from wind and extreme heat.

Spectacular

We stayed at 3 different campsites as we took the entire Four Pass loop over four days. It was an AMAZING experience. All the campsites had amazing views, and most were incredibly private. The last campsite had the most people, which was the one by Snowmass Lake. Even though there were lots of…

Beautiful dispersed area

About 5 min up the mountain from the lakes. Lots of dispersed camping available. Our site had an amazing view of the lakes. Occasional dirt bike riding around. Some campers run loud music late into the night. Early June, lake water is very cold, but refreshing for a quick dip.

Super Clean, LNT, Pack It Out, Keep It Beautiful (and open)

Stayed 3 nights at site SR 12. Pretty close to the access road so expect dust. Nice stream nearby the camp and shade for sitting. If you enjoy hiking, mountain biking, there are some nice opportunities further up the road. There's a jeep road that goes to Paradise Divine (see photo), which is at…

BEST OF COLORADO

One of Colorado's best campgrounds in my opinion. It is beautiful and on the beach of Turquoise Lake.

First come first serve, $24/night, $7 for each car after the first two. 20ish sites and they are all under a huge spread out pine glade. Well shaded during the day and keeps it cool as well as…

Beautiful and easily accessible

Beautiful views, went on a weekend and there were a lot of spots available, not far from town. Awesome spot.

Quiet, beautiful campground

Beautiful little campground between Twin Lakes and Independence Pass. Our site had a large enough space for our oversized ground tent and enough shade to keep cool in the heat of the day. Our site was adjacent to the river which provided a loud background noise that is heaven to sleep to. The views…

dreamy night sky

Reserved a few days ahead of time and had a great spot on the river. Incredible view and an absolutely psychedelic amount of stars. A variety of RVs, trailers, cars, and tents were camping and while sites weren't all that far apart they offered privacy and quiet. Someone was mistakenly in my…

Lakeside camping with boat ramp and trail access

We stopped at Matchless as we needed a first come site the night before our reservations at Molly Brown. We were a bit skeptical at first as it looks like a large asphalt parking lot. The campsites all surround the parking area so you park on asphalt but are steps away from your wooded site. We…

Top tier site

4x4 recommended, I managed to get in to a deeper site with my Prius though. Bugs not bad, creek water tastes great (with filter). Some of the best views I’ve seen in CO. 20 minutes from Crested Butte. Very quiet and serene. 10/10 go here!

Secluded little campground

The Reudi reservoir is a beautiful area. Sunsets are gorgeous and there is a nice hike outside of one of the other two campgrounds in the area. I feel this little campground is the most secluded of the 4 in the area. However, not all sites offer reservoir views. Reservoir is very low this year.…
