A gem!

Lovely county park with lots of campsites. Office staff is super friendly. Our site is right on the water... so calm and peaceful. Family friendly. Nice and clean. We saw the sheriff’s deputy drive through a number of times at night. Good to see them just making sure no one was causing any…

Tent worms!

This memorial weekend was horrible! Tent worms had infested the campground! Dropping from the trees and landing on you and all your belongings! Had picnic tables fully cobwebbed. Grass wasn’t mowed, was told that they mowed beginning of season! Playground was wet and with high grass!

Great ATV access

We stayed with a group for Memorial weekend. We have such a great time. Some of our group was tent camping and said the showers were nice and hot but tended to be a little muddy after awhile. Our site was a little hard to get into. We stayed at site 116 with a 40 ft 5th wheel. I would recommend…

Nice Weekend

Good site with plenty of room. The campground is big. Our site was very private for what a State Park is but not all are. Trails were awesome, but fishing from shore at the fishing peirs are not ideal. Didn't catch anything. Wood is for sale at the main entrance but not well marked or advertised.…

Quiet. Well maintained.

Friendly owners. Well maintained grounds. Mostly seasonal sites. Nice beach across the road. Would stay here again! Hit Chippewa Valley Growers greenhouse in Altoona. Amazing if your into plants!

Nice campground

We’ve been going here for years. The nice part for us is it’s located on the ATV trails so we just drive in and out of campground. There are a couple supper clubs within a short drive that are pretty good. There is a small lake with beach that is very nice for a quick swim as well. You can buy…

Come here for a day trip on the river

This was an interesting state park, I’m glad we came here for a day trip instead of booking anything for the nicer months. There is basically one trail that goes along the river between the two campgrounds, and that appears to be it.

Most people were there for ice fishing at this time of year,…

Horrendous mosquitos August

Very busy campground in the summer. The mosquitos were horrendous. Try early in the season for best experience.

Beautiful woods, close to freeway

Castle Mound was a great state forest campground. All sites are drive-in, and well spaced with ample woods in the summer. Some sites are kind of small, and finding root and stone-free areas for more than one tent might be a challenge. Bathrooms are clean and seem to be recently renovated. The…

Perfect Stay in October

It was a perfect Autumn weekend for our stay. Very quiet, beautiful bike trails and close to the camp park with a gorgeous open field perfect for stargazing. It was great, highly recommend!

Lots of mosquitos but great campground for the weekend!

I've been going to Pigeon Creek ever since I was a child, and I have always loved it. It's one of those campgrounds that have a special place in your heart. All the Wisconsin State Parks are great. This one has a nice man-made lake with good fishing and lots of turtles. All of the sites are well…

Great weekend away

We have stayed here twice. Newer park and have seen improvements from our first stay till our most recent. Grounds seem well cared for overall. The grass was a bit long but green. The campsite had a good amount of garbage in the fire pit and some around the site. I think a quick walk thru by staff…

Great camping!!

This is a great place to camp. We have been back a few times. They have sites on the lake and off. If you can get a site on the water I highly recommend. There is a trail between the site and the water but still is great. The bathrooms were always nice and clean with hot showers. Not much for…
